Two systems installed in 2009. Now in 2021 we have been told the underground pipes which were layed as specified, were not deep enough by half. Also apparently the length of the pipes in the field sho... See more

very satisfactory service
No problems with any aspects of service with both solar and ground source technologies. Excellent back up.
A company that backs its products and systems.
Bought the package, took the course, installed the gear and continue to reap the benefits. One thing: They should insist on a comprehensive external filter in the installation. Sludge and metallic crap 3 years down the line causes major problems! They know about it, so why don't they tell us?
Very helpful company
Really helpful and easy to talk to over the phone
Ice Energy, lead the installation of my solar panels seamlessly.
Ice Energy, lead the installation of my solar panels seamlessly. The communicated well and kept me informed of progress. The team who performed the installation were professional, clean and tidy.
Ground Source Heat Pump (and PV Panels)
First class service both from the sales and service teams. Installed both ground source and PV panels. The only thing we did not realise was the ground source only heats the house to 21C although it is possible to reach a degree higher, however when siting in the evenings we often need a few degrees higher and it is not possible to turn it up like you can with gas, therefore it is a good idea to have a second heat source to top up when required. Fortunately we installed a wood burner as well.
Great company
Very helpful before during and following installation.
Extremely happy with our ASHP four years on.
Great company to work with.
Excellent service for solar panels and air pump
The company was so helpful at every point presales, during installation and post installation.
What's Not To Like?
Nothing much to say really. An Ice Energy link popped up when I Googled for a replacement oil-fired boiler, I liked the idea. I then spent a lot of time investigating other suppliers, but eventually chose Ice Energy as they seemed the most professional and they gave good advice. Fortunately I hired a good plumber, I did the electrics and then an Ice Energy technician commissioned the system. Sorted.
Now, with the help of solar panels, better insulation and some other measures, my total annual energy bill has reduced from £4K to £1K, in a 5-bedroom detached house built in the '30's.
What's not to like?
Wot, no servicing?
Good when I an get them, but I've just been told that no services are carried out until March. What's that all about? Surely you employ more staff to cover customer needs rather than put them off.
Service contracts
I have had a service contract with Ice Energy for nearly 5 years on my 2 ground source heat pumps and I would not be without them.
It gives one great piece of mind. The service I have received has been superb. I would recommend the company to everyone.
Service is a joke
If you look at the reviews they are great, unless you have a problem. We were persuaded to take out a maintenance contract, £2.5K approximately. Which means you have a annual service. I was told it was my fault that this did not happen last September and now won't happen till the spring as you can't do the maintenance in the Winter. Our Heating system doesn't work, usually happens every year when it get's cold. Can't get an engineer out for 4 weeks. (really glad I took out the maintenance contract) Oh and I had to wait 25 minutes for someone to answer the phone... So end result I paid for a contract which was a bit pointless. The reason why I'm writing this is that this is not a new issue, their service has always been verging on the incompetent. The issues are endemic in the organisation and here's a quote from an ex employee in September this year "Dishonest Management, poor communication, chaotic workplace"
Not realistic
Their estimated RHI grant payments over the first 7 years of the Heat Pump's operation. DID NOT take in account the building material used in construction especially when detail plans were asked for.
Could understand if the amount was small way out BUT £300 per Yr.
Problems when it can to commissioning the system.
Sale team great BUT after care POOR.
Nothing
The kit was installed when the house was built so know nothing of ICE apart from the documentation.
Great Service
Very good service throughout, from start to finish and after care.
Reliable and efficient
An excellent company who are always on hand to provide help in the early stages of installation
Our system has been vertually trouble free
Excellent
We were very happy with the installation process and have subsequently been greatly impressed by the after-sales service provided by the folks at ICE.
ICE great - recommended installer a nightmare
ICE were great, no trouble at all. Unfortunately the installer they recommended lied about completion dates and number of men on the job, exploded concrete all over our new windows and exposed stone walls, and was generally a condescending bully. Harsh to mark ICE down but they strongly recommended him and it made life literally a nightmare for over 6 months.
Great Product - Service dept needs attaention
I have two heat pumps which have worked faultlessly for five years, one suffered a leak recently, Ice Energy repaired it under the warranty but I was disappointed with the response time, fault reporterd on Monday morning and repair carried out late Friday afternoon. You also have to be very patient when calling, phone calls to the service dept are put on hold for lengthy periods, sometimes cut off after 20 minutes on hold.
I think they need to look at this department which is letting down an otherwise great service.
Just one
When you need antifreeze added to system you can't always get a plumber who knows how to do job so ice energy train your guys how to do the job & add it to the maintenance contract that we purchase then it will be 5 stars
