Camelot Scammers No Win

I am totally disgusted with Camelot especially the online scratch cards.
When you buy a lets say £3 scratch card and you finally get a "" so called win "" the amount you get is £3 how on earth is that a ( Win ) a ( Win ) is when you get back more than what you paid .
What this company are doing is totally scamming people ( it is NOT a win ) I'm not a big gambler but over the years I've probably lost £1.500 and this is why I am going to take Camelot to court through ( MCOL ) money claim on line. It will cost me £300 only but it will cost them a lot more in solicitors attending court.
I will represent myself.
No wonder Camelot has lost its licence to operate in 2024 .

I was living in Camelot Mosaic World…

I was living in Camelot Mosaic World studio in Maastricht. I moved in last year on the 26th of October.
Let me tell you about your so called professionalism.

I should have moved in on the 4th of October 2021 BUT YOU made a mistake so after I already sent the ONE THOUSAND EUROS as a deposit I was told that I can not move in just 3 weeks later on the 25th of October because Juul Sparidans made some mistake.
So you understand that I had to find accomodation because of the new move-in date. That takes lot of time and money.
I was told that I have to send the deposit AGAIN because of the change of the move-in date.
SO I HAVE SENT ANOTHER THOUSAND EUROS before I got back the first one.
If you look for this company on the internet then you will find terrible reviews and disappointed people who had the same bad experience about Camelot, now it is Mosaic-Plazaresident, no wonder the old name got a bad image.
Do you think people who rent these 18 squaremeters studio have just another thousand euros any time? I had to borrow to be able to pay 2000 euros to this company before I even got anything. (Plus one month rent in advance so it was around 2800 euros.)
So on the 25th of October I am waiting for any call from this company because I was looking forward to move in because then I am sure that this is not a SCAM. Nobody is calling me on that day so I called them up. They told me I still can not move in even though I had my contract with the new date. I was told that I can move in on the 26th of October.
So I am standing there at the hotel I had to book, all of my luggages are packed and I have like 2 hours to leave the hotel and Camelot tells me that I can move in tomorrow... You can just imagine what I went through. I was about to call the police because I have sent almost THREE THOUSAND euros (two times deposit and one time monthly rent) to this company which I just heard and read bad things about.
So the next day I could move in but I think you understand if I say at that day I already lost every hope and kindness to this company after what happened.
As I got the keys from the caretaker I was told by a woman from the office that I will get 50 euros washing credit as a compensation and the first 2 days will be free too.
After 3-4 weeks as I still could not wash finally I got the compensation but it took several phone calls.
In total I had changed 65-80 emails with this company! It happened not only once that they promised something like they will give you an answer at that day or they will call you back with an answer that day or they will provide an answer until Friday but it did not happen, I run out of money on my phone 2 times because of how many times I had to call them to solve my problem.
The other big challenge was to get back my first 1000 euros from this company. After several emails, phone calls and sleepless nights They sent back the rest of the money in DECEMBER (in 3 separate amounts because they told me they owe less than what I state... So they really did not want to give me back what they asked for 2 times because of somebodys mistake in the office. Again, I would like to specify that I got it back BECAUSE I CALLED AND EMAILED THEM A MILLION TIMES.
I was not informed properly from the first minute until the 25th of May 2022 when I finally moved out. Moving out was amateur too as it could be. They told me I got back my deposit in 8-10 weeks after I asked them. Until then they use your money. What is the purpose of the deposit? I suppose to move forward with the help of that amount but it takes almost 3 MONTHS until you get it back.
There is no need to say that after all of these ridiculous mistakes this company committed I do not trust them or any of their employees because again it happened more times that they promised me something and I still did not get reply for weeks so what are the chances that I will ever get back my deposit...
This is more than disappointing.
I would never rent from this company in the future and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY who wants to be treated as a real customer.
I am very happy that I could finally leave this thing behind me because NOBODY SHOULD GO THROUGH what I had to go through by CAMELOT PLAZARESIDENT.

Camelot/Mosaic World refuses to return in timely manner security deposit

Camelot, now Mosaic World, refuses to return the security deposit after the expiration of the lease and inspection. In my case the report indicates, "no damage", however the company responded saying that they won't return the deposit for 10 weeks after the expiration of the lease. That is illegal practice because they don't have such right under the lease. We never agreed to that. The deposit is due upon expiration of the lease. They are bunch of crooks that use tenants' money and don't pay interest. Many of the tenants are unemployed students and they need that money. Camelot generated so much negative feedback online that had to change their name into Mosaic World.

AWFUL
I do not recommend at all:
- expensive for the size of the room
- no communication
- surcharge for basic services (wifi, washing machine, dryer...)

My contract ended on March the 2nd: they made me pay for the 2 "extra" days of March (without telling me) whereas I had already paid in the rent...

To conclude that is my only and bigges regret of doing an Erasmus by trusting them

Positive Experience

The experience of working with Thecla, who managed the property we were considering, was extremely positive. She was very helpful, going above and beyond to answer our questions and work with us as we made our housing decision. Thecla is professional, patient, and easy to communicate with. We appreciate Thecla's efforts and the positive experience we had working with Camelot.

I would like to leave a positive feedback for Jordi.
He has been amazing and even went the extra mile to assist me which he didn’t have to!

I hope Camelot uses him as an example for all their employees, existing and future ones.

Thank you very much Jordi!

Scammers

I stayed there for 3 years. I left the property spotless and in perfect condition. In my final inspection, they could found absolutely nothing wrong even though they were trying very hard. We signed off that everything was in order. Almost a year later, they still refuse to pay me back my 1000 EUR deposit, and made up a list of things that I need to pay them back for (all the things that should have been included in the rent, even heating when I never once turned on the heater in my time there to name one example) and they are now saying I owe THEM money. Scammers to the core!

Do not stay in Camelot if you expect to…

Do not stay in Camelot if you expect to get your deposit back!! Do not expect to resign with them even if your contract has such clause even if you message them 6 months in advance. Do not expect replies to crucial e-mails!! Absolute scam company playing mind games with the law!! Their ethics are not centered at all around tenants, rather than anti-corruption organizations who put these restrictions and Camelot gets away with the absolute maximum that is not illegal, even crossing the line on some occasions. At the end of your contract expect to be taken 1000 euros for the most bs reasons you could ever imagine, paying about 10 times the price of an item for a barely visible scratch.

TRASH

Absolute trash of a company! I got snagged an extra month of rent (1000 bucks) for an entire month while I was not even staying there due to their dimwitted regulations, which when translated to English from Dutch makes no sense at all (but to them they have done their job to explain) I cannot believe I lived there for 2 years. I do not recommend this garbage of a place to anyone.

Hidden costs everywhere, bad service

I lived in the Limapad building in the Utrecht science park, owned by Camelot, and I definitely don't recommend it to anyone. Live anywhere else if you can. Here's a list of problems I ran into:

- The rent is already high (I paid 650 euro per month, inclusive), but the rooms are tiny and definitely not worth the price. The kitchenette is also way too mediocre for the price of the apartment. Only two induction burners and small microwave/oven combo.
- The place is RIDDLED with hidden cost that bring the rent up even further! It's super unethical of Camelot to do this, but they literally charge over 7 euro for a load of laundry, and you have to buy your own router if you want internet, and if you get locked out at night they charge 90 euros to get let back into your own room! They also ban you from copying your own apartment key so that you're forced to pay them if you lock yourself out. By all accounts they're a super predatory and unethical landlord.
- Their contracting system is intentionally deceptive and predatory toward international students. I don't speak Dutch, but entire portions of the contract I signed were in Dutch! I never saw a real breakdown of the costs of living until after I'd already signed. If you have to live here, make sure you read your contract VERY closely, and translate anything that's written in a language you don't understand.
- Camelot's communication is super slow and the company is hard to get in touch with. Had to call multiple times and wait on hold just to ask a simple question.
- Another negative experience has to do with the other renters. Limapad in Utrecht is a student building, and from my experience the students treat the place like dirt AND they refuse to follow the COVID regulations. I felt so unsafe living there because students literally bragged about how much they were partying in the middle of the pandemic. A local paper even wrote an article about how much the students at Limapad were disrespecting the rules. This review platform apparently doesn't allow me to include external links, but google "Limapad residents ignore corona rules" to find the article from DUB.

I really can't stress this enough: Camelot is a predatory landlord. Their business model is to prey upon mostly international students in a tough housing market and force us to pay hidden costs that we only find out about after the contract has already been signed. The residential community is unkind and doesn't respect COVID regulations at all. Go live somewhere else if you can avoid living here.

Very disrespectful

Very disrespectful. They are overpriced. I'm paying 100 euro per month extra for a microwave oven. That means 1200 euro per year for a microwave that costs 100 euro. I do not recommend.

Discriminative

I applied for a working space and got told that I was accepted to the next phase. I was then told to send a copy of my bank card, 3 payslips and passport. I was a bit suspicious that they needed a copy of my bank card but once I submitted everything, not even 5-10 minutes later I got an email saying my application was cancelled and was now being offered to the next applicant. They mentioned that either I didn't send all the info on time (I sent it on the same day I got their email confirmation), the information I provided was incomplete or not correct (I made sure not to make any mistakes and completed everything), or the given information disqualified me for the space (everything I provided should have made me eligible for the space).

I then emailed them requesting more information on what exactly made me not suitable for the space given that I should have been qualified for it. They wrote back saying I was completely suitable but that someone else who applied the week before got the space. I found that hard to believe due to the first email they sent which gave vague excuses for why my application was cancelled and completely failed to mention that the space was already taken.

I got a friend of mine to call them and inquire about that particular working space I had applied for and ask if it was still available, the person on the line told my friend that it was still available.

I think they are extremely discriminative, there is no other explanation. They are a bunch of liars and reading the other reviews it is clear there is something shady going on with them. I'm glad I was not selected or else I'd have the same problems everyone else is having in regards to getting their deposit back.

Unethical and possibly criminal

Like others have said, this organisation is untrustworthy and the most unethical I've ever encountered. I had to call them several times to get back the ridiculously high deposit and they demand money for things that are in direct violation of the rental contract. Surprised they haven't been taken down by lawsuits yet - any lawyer would have a field day. I don't often write reviews here but people need to know. I hope at least someone reading these reviews stays away from Camelot.

Please do yourself a favour and don’t…

Please do yourself a favour and don’t live here. Money stealers with super unprofessional staff (caretakers, managers, suport). Due to Corona I had to leave the studio I was living in. They took this chance to add damages in my room out of nowhere. They didn’t let me sign the final inspection and made me pay 800€ out of my deposit for nothing, the room was the exact same as I received it.

They don't pay deposits back! Be careful!

Left my residence in February 2019. Now 1 year and 8 months later, I am still waiting for a part of my 1000 euro deposit.

They do not reply on massages or phone calls.

I am starting to think this money is lost forever.

Quick and professional recruitment

Hi, I would like to say above of all of those opinions that I really enjoyed recrutiment that was assured by Duncan Van Pelt. It was quick and clear for me, also if I had any questions I did received the answers as soon possible. Unfortunately I couldn't sign the contract as it requires to send money always on 25th day of month and my salaris is always 26th of every month but I really enjoyed the possibilities that I had to rent a nice studio. I give 4 stars as I cannot say what is happening next and I saw many different opinions but in case of recruitment deffinetly I recommend you to meet Duncan. Greetings, Dawid.
