Hi Mr Ruddy,

I’m really sorry to hear this has been your experience – I can understand how frustrating that must feel, especially when you’re trying to get support.

Just to clarify, we’re a digital-only service, so we don’t offer phone lines or call-backs. Everything is designed to be completed online, which helps us keep the service free and accessible. That said, it sounds like you may have been trying to reach a company you shared your budget with, rather than us directly.

If you’re having trouble getting hold of a specific provider, let us know who it is and we’ll do our best to help get someone from their team to reach out to you.

We’re here to make things easier, not harder, so we’d really like to help turn this around for you.

Thanks,
IE Hub Gemma

IE HUB - Debt Collectors' Best Friend for Sure

I was referred to this business (YES BUSINESS) via my water company because I am struggling with the water bill.

All in all, as I read the questions during the assessment, I realised that it was NOT a genuine support system for people struggling to pay bills and/or requiring financial support. I read the scope and business objectives and found that it is in fact a credit collection analysis tool.

They are used by not only debt collectors but during the processing of Civil Court actions too.

If you are under pressure to pay bills etc and feel as though you are drowning in debt, I can suggest that you contact a registered charity providing full, genuine, impartial guidance and support.

DO NOT provide this or any other so-called financial support business with direct access to your bank account!!!

Good Luck...

UPDATE: Clarification

Further to my recent honest review of IE Hub, I received a detailed response and would like to confirm facts stated by me in original review:

1 - Trust and clarity are incredibly important!
AGREED

2 - IE Hub is not a debt collection company...
AGREED
I at no point claimed or stated that this business is a debt-collection agency. I stated that IE Hub work with debt-collection agencies and generate a core income from that fact.

3 - IE Hub does not have access to customers’ bank accounts and cannot see or control them.
AGREED
I at no point stated that this business would take control of your account. I asserted and re-assert that by providing access they are privy to your banking and DO share that information with debt collecting agencies amongst others.

4 - Customers remain fully in control at all times, and nothing is shared with any organisation unless they give clear consent. Customers can choose to share their budget with any organisation they wish to (this could be a creditor, utilities provider or even a debt collection company who is chasing payments and the customer can use IE Hub to show what the can or can’t afford to pay).
DISAGREE
Well worded but facts are facts and IE Hub DO share date and generate a core income from creditors and debt collectors.

5 - We also work closely alongside charities and independent advice organisations. In fact, services such as National Debtline use IE Hub as part of their support journey, helping advisers understand someone’s situation so they can recommend the most appropriate help, whether that’s budgeting support, debt advice, grants or wider assistance.
DISAGREE
IE Hub core objectives are to generate profit. How they market their aims/objectives is their choice. If genuine independent source of support for people experiencing debt, every charity in the UK and beyond would be accessing this service and promoting to clients.

6 - If you’d be open to it, we’d really welcome the chance to talk through your concerns directly and answer any questions you have.
NO THANKS
I do not have any concerns but deal with FACT and suggest that you use plain English when responding to or 'supporting' clients.

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for taking the time to continue the discussion. We respect that everyone is entitled to their view, but we do want to clarify a few important points for anyone reading this thread.

IE Hub exists to help people understand their finances and show organisations what they can realistically afford - especially when someone is struggling with bills. We do not collect debts, make enforcement decisions, or take payments.

A few key facts we want to make absolutely clear:

• IE Hub does not have access to bank accounts. Customers may optionally use secure Open Banking to pull information into their budget simply to save time and avoid manually typing in transactions and income details. This access is read-only - we cannot access accounts, move money, or see anything beyond the information a customer chooses to import.

• Nothing is ever shared without consent. A customer decides if - and with whom - they share their budget. If they choose not to share it, no organisation sees their information.

• IE Hub is completely free for customers. We never charge individuals to use the service. Organisations pay to use the platform so that support remains free and accessible, and we are transparent about this - which is why the business side of our website is publicly visible rather than hidden.

It’s also important to address the point about debt collection agencies. IE Hub is designed to help people manage debt situations - and sometimes, unfortunately, debts have progressed to the stage where an account is handled by a collections agency. That isn’t something anyone wants, but it is a reality many people face.

In those situations, IE Hub helps protect customers by allowing them to evidence what they can and can’t afford based on a full financial picture. However, this only happens if the customer chooses to share their budget. We would never send a person’s information to a debt collector - or any organisation - without their explicit permission.

We also work closely alongside charities and independent advice organisations, including National Debtline, where advisers use IE Hub budgets to help assess appropriate support, grants and debt advice options. You can read more about the NDL partnership here: https://www.iehub.co.uk/business/news/ie-hub-partners-with-national-debtline-to-make-debt-support-simpler/

Our aim is simple: to reduce stress, avoid repeated questioning, and help ensure decisions about repayment are based on affordability and fairness - not pressure.

We appreciate that our approach may not be for everyone, and we genuinely wish you the very best moving forward.

Simple and quick

Simple to use and much quicker than expected. It was extremely useful to me now my income is reduced so I can manage my budget and see where I can make cost cuts.
Would definitely recommend this service and the fact able to share it means not having to complete the information multiple times.
