Discriminate against digital poverty

I have a series of missed/late payments due to the bank being ‘self service’ - I could speak to customer services but they would not update my direct debit date to coincide with my monthly wage as it is a ‘self service only’ bank?? I could not change the date myself as I had an older iPhone that wasn’t compatible with their app. Their only suggestion was to use someone else’s computer or phone which I eventually did. I filed a complaint and have heard nothing from them.

Ikano contacted me after this review but when I call back the lines are closed in the middle of the afternoon on a week day. I have replied to emails asking to confirm my details.. nothing further. I’ll keep trying to call back. What a frustrating system.

no customer service

Purchased a kitchen from ikea with zero finance from Ikano bank. Very bad customer service from ikea and now its three months with no reply After complaining to the Bank The list is so long on the bad fitting from ikea and Ikano just dont give a dam

Horrid company

This is a horrible, ignorant, dodgy company. Untrustworthy and unprofessional.
I contacted them via email asking them to stop calling me due to health reasons, and asked them to communicate via email. They carried on calling, which is a breach of GDPR.
They've continually added on charges whilst knowing full well I was experiencing financial difficulty. They also edited MY letter that I sent to them, and then proceeded to ignore me altogether, whilst STILL adding on insane penalty charges.
Why do companies like this not realise that they're more likely to actually get their money if they stop adding on insane, unreasonable charges?
I hate them.

They are so helpful and answer all my questions

They are so helpful and answer the phone with a lovely happy voice well every time I have rang up and when you suffer bad with mental health a happy voice at the other end of phone is nice highly recommended

Finished paying off my IKEA loan early to help with debt management in this time of living crisis. Ikano decide to just keep the direct debit going and slap a £250 charge on my account this month as an overpayment. I will struggle to eat now. Thanks!

The smoothest loan I’ve ever had

I’ve taken a lot of finance out over the years and honestly, Ikano is probably one of the best to use. My loan was for furniture from DFS. I was approved quickly. I love the fact I get monthly emails with updates for my balance. I am especially grateful for the fact that when I’ve missed a payment, I am not hassled or bullied into repaying it quickly. With the cost of living and other bills, I have made a fair few payments late but it hasn’t been a problem. I’m very appreciative that even though they do charge a late fee, instead of being due immediately it is just added to my overall balance so I don’t have to stress about making the late payment itself with the additional fee - the fee is just added so I can pay it when I have it, which really helps more than I could say! The odd times I have had to communicate with Ikano, they’ve been friendly and very quick to get in contact. Easily the best finance company I have used and would happily use them again.
