Bad replacement of factory defective parts

Purchased 2 pcs of drawer front, received both with factory defects. They organized a pick-up and delivery of replacement on my address, but only delivered one piece. No way to contact them apart from going to the shopping center. So, no follow up on my particular claim.

Refund delayed

Made an order for click and collect and I noticed afterwards that I put the wrong time. I couldn't change it so I cancelled the order. I received a confirmation of cancellation with a promise that I will be refunded within 14 days (which is already pretty long especially for a 2.000 eur order). After 14 days i contacted customer service as the money hadn't arrived. Turns out the refund had not been "launched" and the operator launched it manually. Big Surprise, i now have to wait again up to 14 days. What kind of joke is this?
NEVER CANCEL ORDERS, especially of higher amounts, be very careful before placing them!!!

The worst delivery service, the worst customer experience

Buying a new home is such a joy, but furnishing it from IKEA is a horror experience.
The delivery and installation of the paid furniture was postponed without any prior notice. More than that, the furniture was in stock, but has not been delivered. An incompetence and a lack of respect for the customer without borders.
I will never consider buying anything from this company and I do not recommend anyone to support such a SCAM company with a big name.

Crazy cashier Sofia, No.12016124 6124 yelled at the client

On 28/July Thursday at 14:22, I went to kassa No.7 in IKEA Zaventem, Belgium to pay. I bought a large plant and put the plant in the table waiting it to be scanned. The cashier named Sofia couldn’t handle the big plant and the plant turned over by accident. The soil from the plant was messed up on the payment table, I asked if there’s paper. She asked around and there’s no paper, a while later she asked me madly, “Are you mad at me?! Are you angry at me?! Do you know how large is you tree?? I am trying to help you!!” I didn’t know what to say. She initiated the yelling and shouting, and said that I had a grumpy face. A while later she called a colleague of her over and began to tell her colleague in Dutch that how bad I was and left. While she was yelling at me, she kept saying that it was my fault and the tree is huge and she was helping. I do not understand, this should be her job, she made the tree fell over and made a mess, then she yelled at me and left, her colleague and I cleaned up the mess. This is crazy.
I’d like to share it to the shop itself and the people around me about this crazy experience in ikea. This is so embarrassing

Worst delivery service ever…

Worst delivery service ever experienced. We just moved to Luxembourg and bought all our furniture in IKEA Arlon. After having spent literally 2 full days talking to IKEA and the transport company for the last week (getting the delivery on the wrong day or not getting it on the planned one…), we were ensured that today we would have received all…. This morning when we saw the lift in front of our house we felt really happy, we thought we were there… too soon… the delivery didn’t come as expected and the lift went away. Then they told us we should reschedule another day, we got extremely upset and strongly complained with the poor person on phone… now they say they are trying to get it done today, but I am sure at this stage that this is an overstatement!!! There are many other things that could go wrong…. Of course this will destroy our plans, we are for the second day already stuck waiting in the house, my wife had come from Italy for the week just for this, we are still sleeping on the floor, we have rescheduled 3 times with the people to assemble the furniture (yes it is a separate part…)…. And IKEA is totally absent, they already got paid for all!!!

Payment overlay and horrible contact option

I ordered some things in the internet, returned smaller parts and after more than 3 weeks I still have not my money back. Contact option are poor and most of the time overloaded. If you get an information it is always a mistake or a problem. In shops IKEA is okay but not online. Funny fact: although it is a worldwide company you can not give something back in Belgium from Netherlands or Germany. Even if your nearest IKEA is in another land than you are.

IKEA Kitchen - NEVER EVER ORDER!!!

IKEA Kitchen - Nightmare!!!

Never ever order this. My list of issues are countless:
1. Kitchen was finalized and shopping list was created in September 2021. Delivery planned for Dec 2021 and all of a sudden on the date of delivery they say ohh we cannot whereas i have removed all my kitchen by then to start on that day. For new date, they said not possible before 4 days or cancel the order. So i wait 4 days again.
2. On next date of delivery only 5 items delivered and rest was the next day again because the call center agent didnt book both my order for same date.
3. On the next day, order arrived but with missing items. Delivery guy said Ikea has it in the system what is missing and when i call they say we cannot see that.
4. Agony - They charged me for delivery on later date even though they cancelled the delivery.
4. Order list has missing items which are in the Shopping list. I had to call after manually checking this and after 2 hours or call and email they said. Oh yes we will deliver this in 3 days.
5. Still finding missing items in the delivery made so far and on top of that they have sent items which are not even part of the design on main shopping list.

And few more..............

This has been my worst ever experience with any such big organization.
I am not sure how do i officially escalate this to someone higher in the authority chain.

IKEA not assuming transport costs for faulty product

Dear gentlemen (and possible future clients), I have been a client of IKEA for a couple of years. I must have spend around 1000-2000EUR so far in your shop.

Recently, I have bought a mattress from the MORDEGAL brand, which after unpacking it and unrolling it from its package, I noticed had some manufacturing defects. Now, the mattress expands after coming out of the package, I can no longer bring it myself to the store on my car, it's too small for that effect.

Frustratingly, after contacting IKEA's client service, IKEA will not assume the transportation costs back to the store. I have to pay IKEA to organize the transport, or I need to bring myself the defective product back to the store, renting a van that costs 1/2 the price of a mattress for 1/2 day. This makes absolutely no sense to me.

Additionally, client service online is unresponsive and of very limited use.

As such, I must say that you have lost a client. I have been investing in higher priced, quality Belgian brands for furniture and kitchenware, and I'll extend that to mattresses and other items.

From me, you'll not see another cent.

Best regards.

Ordered several items

Ordered several items, on the day of the delivery the sent me a message saying that the order got modified and the biggest item would not be delivered. The item got refunded but not the expensive shipping costs. Now if I want to buy it again I have to 1. wait that it is back in stock 2. pay the shipping costs again. Totally unprofessional.

Unpleasant experience

Very disappointed with IKEA right now!
Ikea was one of my favourites stores but after today I cannot say the same anymore.
I understand Covid measures need to be taken given the current situation. However, the security personnel are-over eager and overzealous to the point of becoming unprofessional and aggressive.

Right at the entrance of IKEA’s car park, one is met by a set of barriers manned by a group of security personnel which seem to conflate an household with the set of passengers travelling within a car, thus precluding customers who legitimately depend on transport assistance to shop at IKEA. Despite my best efforts to convince these people that a set of two passengers within the same vehicle can legally be considered as being from two distinct households and social bubbles, I was met by an array of troglodyte-sounding grunts citing “IKEA law". The mind boggles. Of course, the perverse side of this is that households with several cars or creative individuals who drop family members 100 meters up the street can quite easily cheat the system by impersonating single individuals visiting the store, and, as one of the barrier-manning gentlemen helpfully pointed out, I should perhaps forego any sense of honesty and do the same... Suffice to say that the stream of customers coming either by "foot" or "public transport" has dramatically increased recently.

Fast forward a few weeks; after being subject to an interrogation by out barrier-manning friends, you are finally tagged with a bracelet and allowed in. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that once inside, the Orwellian tendencies of the security personnel do not improve. I was caught red-handed, in the apparently unlawful act of saying hello and talking with an acquaintance which I met by chance in the store. Soon enough I was approached by an angry-looking fellow who proceeded to inform me that I wasn't respecting any of the "Three Covid Rules" (how quaint), and threatened to call the police if I dared to talk to my acquaintance again. Obviously, as part of the process, I was also found guilty by the ad-hoc one-man tribunal of being part of the same household and social bubble as the person I spoke with, implying that we came together to Ikea... And thus implicitly admitting that the system is broken to begin with. And so any hope of having a reasonable conversation with this individual went out of the window, along with any respect, politeness and reasonableness expected from someone qualified for the job. I felt harassed, threatened and was treated as a liar by a man who simply saw me talking to somebody else.
To me this is specially painful since I have always associated IKEA to joyful, family moments. Clearly times has changed and social distancing is maybe being taken too literally by some.

I ordered several things from Ikea…

I ordered several things from Ikea Zaventem november 2. November 6 they would deliver all the small things but it turned out they had adressen the shipment wrongly so it was returned. The other half arrived just fine november 13. Since november 6 I have tried to contact Ikea by e-mail 3 times but no reply yet. The phone would demand more than half an hours waiting time. Will never again order from a company who dies not get back to customers who have already paid for goods.

Terrible delivery service

Very unfriendly delivery service, despite the extremely high cost of it (within Belgium). And the delivery cost for some of the product is such a joke. For a curtain rail that weighs merely 0.5 kg, it costs 59.00 EU to deliver. Seriously?

Stay away from Ikea kitchen design

Stay away from Ikea kitchen design. Designed a kitchen island; initially they lost the design. Another trip to the store to make the same design and this was delivered. The back board to the island was too short by 0.5 metres. Certain items did not fit and when we queried it with customer services they suggested we had to go back to the store. Another trip back to the store. Customer services agreed that the items did not fit together mathematically. In house Customer services were good. However at the kitchen design we were told that we had to purchase a jigsaw to cut the materials that we received to make them fit. What the ******* This was awful. When we asked to speak to the manager another designer came to speak to us. When I asked why can they not give us a backboard that will fit to the dimensions, she flew into a monologue of sarcasm and basically said they can't do that because the islands are basically kitchen cabinets that screw onto walls. This was unbelievable. Again we asked for a board that was cut to the exact measurements that she claimed could not be done. But she placed an order and charged us again for it.
Six weeks later the back board arrives and we were excited that we will have the kitchen island that we want. Unfortunatley, the backboard is 5 mms to short, but it is the right height. The instructions how to fit it together does not make any sense that we had to go on line and contact other people who have gone through the same as us. They have cut, bought extra items to make the design sturdy and stable. This is not what Ikea claims to be.
Anyone can fit Ikea furniture together....forget it. Stay away from this Ikea kitchen design.
