I’ve been a subscriber since sometime in the fall of 2021 and have been receiving small ordered approximately every other week. I’ve been meaning to unsubscribe, but getting a few items of theirs that I really like is too convenient. These items are their legacy free range eggs (only ONE egg has ever come broken out of about a dozen orders), some kale wraps, a sauce, and some other items here and there. What I have learned about this service after trial and error is that produce just isn’t worth it. Although a good idea in theory, their “imperfect” conventional fruits and veggies are incredibly expensive and are literal garbage. They describe the foods as having scuffs or being too small, but are sometimes inedible in the sense that they never matured (as was the case with avocados with extremely hard flesh… I’m Caribbean, we call this “pepita” because they’re just no good to be consumed), and blood oranges that have dry, hard pulp although they look fine from the outside. I could go on, but I tell myself never to order fresh fruits or vegetables from them again because I am constantly let down. Their packages products (pantry) are fine. The Minor Figures oat milk is delicious but now too expensive (didn’t use to be) - one item I love and can’t find anywhere else. I know this works for some folks, but if anyone were to ask me if I recommended Imperfect Foods as a service, I’d say “eh.” Their house brand reminds me of Trader Joe’s, and some conventional products can be cheaper than in store (like their Feta crumbles), but if you want to help the cause by reducing food waste and buying “imperfect” produce, you are at risk of just wasting your money. Their customer service is alright. I’ve received the wrong item or have had items missing in my box and they are quick to resolve issues. I also received a box and wasn’t notified, so I had to throw out the perishables, but they also refunded those. However, reading that they treat their employees poorly, I feel more inclined to cancel this service.

I have had great experiences with Imperfect Foods! If anything comes damaged (which rarely happens), they credit it back right away. I love all the organic and/or unique options! Service is quick and reliable. I've been a customer for 2 years, and plan to continue!! Do yourself a favor and check them out!!

Want to know the reality of what its like working at imperfect foods? There is garbage laying around everywhere. Oh and the food isn't even all "imperfect." They also dont reuse ice packs or boxes like they claim to customers they just let them pile up around the warehouse. There is tons of plastic waste here which seems very counterproductive to the mission. Along with the fact that they don't invest in workers, they would rather have all temporary workers so they don't have to pay benefits. There is alcohol and drug bags all over the parking lot. We even found a used condom inside, nice right? There isn't even enough parking for employees. Imperfect Foods completely lacks integrity. They have compromised their so called "values" trying to become profitable. Corporate greed at its finest. There are no standards at this company, purely just trying to make money off people who think they're doing something good for the planet but creating tons of inorganic waste in the process.
Imperfect Foods has made grocery shopping so much easier for me AND it helps me live more sustainably-- truly a win-win! They've recently launched an app with push notifications which makes the shopping experience even easier, and I'm always so excited to see all the food I can shop from each week. It's made me appreciate where my food comes from and the farmers that put in hard work to produce it. Thank you Imperfect Foods for being such a great staple for my family!

Timely delivery (even heavy boxes brought upstairs to my apt door!), clean app/website, easy ordering, constantly working to improve and provide new products, niche/high quality snacks and cheeses. I’ve discovered many of my new favorite brands through imperfect. Love the opportunity to support small businesses and farmers. This is the only food subscription service I’ve kept consistently for over a year!

I've been buying from IF for about 3 years now, initially every other week, but since the pandemic, I switched to weekly to avoid stores. I like that I can find largely organic, high quality, affordable and unusual choices for filling our fridge, freezer and pantry at a good price point. Periodically we might get a mushy piece of fruit, or some smushed packaging, but I usually get a refund within a couple of hours contacting customer service. The negative reviews on here must be from miserable internet trolls who have not actually contacted customer service, because they have always been top notch when i have needed a reimbursement.
Ps. I hoarded all my boxes and bubble wrap in the garage for a whole year because we had selling our house and moving on our calendar so I knew we would put every box to use and bubble wrap to use!All those boxes are neatly stacked in our storage unit and when we are done with our move I'll recycle the bubble wrap and boxes, bit by bit.
I am a happy Imperfect Foods customer.

I have been shopping with Imperfect Foods for a year and a half now, and absolutely love it! There is nothing better than receiving a box of ripe, fresh fruits and veggies and in some cases straight from the garden or farm (you may notice some dirt on that produce...lol).
Yes, there are some imperfections at times, however that should be expected when ordering from this service. And, you are doing great things for the environment!!!
The subscription service is flexible and any refunds are issued timely as needed (which has been minimal). Where ever my travels take me, I will always shop with Imperfect Foods!!

Imperfect Foods is actually perfect! Not only have kept me alive for the past 3 years, I'm actually healthier than I've ever been. And I've learned to cook things that I would have never attempted.

We started getting our customized box of IF food a little over a year ago which helped us with social distancing. I was skeptical about the quality and service of food I wasn’t selecting myself. No more! The produce is always in great shape, very fresh and keeps well between our every other week deliveries. There are only two of us and we place a large enough order to save shipping costs. The only time we had a mix-up the customer service was very responsive. We will definitely continue this service. Thank you so much for the great product and service.

I've been a customer with Imperfect Foods for 3 years now and they've truly changed my mindset when it comes to food-waste. Their boxes and subscription service is easy to understand, and easier to fill with delicious groceries. The produce quality is always fresh and their snack/pantry foods tend to catch my interest as there's always something new to try. Even with inflation and the pandemic, their prices are relatively good and I can always count on them to feed my house of picky eaters. They are making strides in the environmental world and their commitment to education and growth is truly unique!

most orders are perfect and just as I expected. in the event my order wasn't perfect (has only happened a couple of times in more than 12 months) then the "customer care" team took care of me and did so with kindness and speed!

I’ve been a customer of Imperfect Foods for over 2 years now and love it! I love their mission and that they are a B Corp and I especially appreciate that there’s no monthly fee or required orders so that when I’m too exhausted or lazy to cook, I can easily skip an order or 2 until I’m ready to buy groceries again. Keep up the Gouda work!

I've been a subscriber since December and get orders weekly. I've never had an issue! The orders are always exactly what I expected and my usual delivery man is amazing about bringing my box to my third floor apartment.
I like the automatically filled cart option too, since sometimes I don't really have a meal plan. Makes shopping so much easier.

This company thinks greenwashing and sending repulsive moldy and rotten food is okay. Their prices are predatory and unbelievably high. No I will not contact your useless and unhelpful customer service department. I despise this company and their employees. I can't wait to hear about this crap going under. Hope you all have a good backup plan because if this is how the company is run it won't last another year.

IF rocks! Easy to use, lots of delicious choices, their brand items are the best snacks, and it's priced well. Love the mission of saving food from being wasted. Thank you!

I like Imperfect Foods a lot! I like what they have to offer, and you can't beat the convenience. We are mostly housebound, so food delivery is a must, and Imperfect is my favorite. Plus, I LOVE that I'm fighting food waste with every order.
You do have to figure out how the subscription works, especially the already "loaded" box, but if you read everything carefully, it is all explained before you sign up. I actually find the shopping fun! There is the occasional disappointment (in produce, mostly), but their customer care team is always quick to make it up with refunds. And following them on social media is delightful because they give so many great food waste saving tips and tricks!
I am definitely a believer in Imperfect Foods, changing the world one ugly zucchini at a time. Even after we can safely go out shopping, I plan to stick with it.
