About Incogni

Written by the company

Incogni, a tool that helps prevent your personal information from being stored and sold by data brokers.

Upon the customers’ request, the tool identifies and communicates with dozens of data broker companies, so that the person’s details can be deleted from their databases.

Leading names in the data brokerage industry currently own data on hundreds of millions of consumers, some boasting up to 1500 data points per consumer.

With the introduction of GDPR and CCPA, all these companies are subject to giving or deleting information they hold on the person if they receive a formal request.

However, contacting each firm could take ages due to the excessive response frameworks companies have crafted and perfected.

Surfshark’s team of researchers contacted 36 data broker companies on their own to show how difficult this process can be. To get a final response took a little over 6 days from our first letter with each new data broker and more than 20 days with each established one.

Furthermore, 63% of the large data brokers asked for additional personal data which is not necessary to complete the inquiry (outside of ID copy), asking for a bank statement or even e-signature and thus prolonging the procedure.

“Data privacy is becoming an increasingly alarming issue, yet many people are still unaware of the hidden market that data brokers operate in,” – points out Vytautas Kaziukonis, Chief Executive Officer of Surfshark.

“As the sensitivity and scope of data they possess widen, so does the need to be able to opt-out of it. However, based on recent studies, the actual process of taking back data is an extremely tedious procedure, which requires legal knowledge and lots of persistence.

“Incogni aims to help users opt-out of these practices more efficiently and exercise their legal right to privacy easily.”

The Incogni privacy tool is available for purchase at the official link: https://incogni.com.

Incogni DataBroker removal

Incogni has achieved the removal or suppression of my personal data from nearly 100 data brokers. with 6 left outstanding. This is something I could never have done on my own.

Glad I signed up

So far, seems to do what they advertise. Although I still get a lot of spam calls, don't know how to avoid that as I'm a Realtor. So my number is out there.

when you want to cancel because their app did not work

when you want to cancel because their app doesn't work they are no where to be found. If you contact support no one response. If you call no one answers the phone. So far all I have seen this company do is take my money. I have emailed and emailed them and I get no response. Their website said 30 any time cancel! They are not even honoring a 1 day request for cancel. The only thing they have done is to send auto email that say they got my request. All talk and no action! Buyer be ware!

Outstanding service

Outstanding service that delivers real results.
This platform has removed a remarkable amount of my personal information from online sources. The pricing is well worth it for the peace of mind it provides. I plan to remain a long-term user and have already recommended it to friends who are now enrolled.

Defeats the purpose

Interesting, spose to remove numbers etc, yes they do, BUT! beware, if your info was NOT on a list that was submitted, whats that tell u? Pretty simple, incogni JUST gave them your info, and since the company that did NOT already have your info didnt technically have your info, they can legally say, they complied...then, wah lah! They now have your info to sell! Oh, one more thing... for more money YOU can add your custom url and remove ur info from custom urls.....um.....huh?! Soooo, your spose to do their job AND pay more for it? No..
All three that are on our acct have actually seen an INCREASE in emails and calls.. even a simple search, after 10 mos your info is still readily available.
Your info was removed and suppressed (not to be re added tho THAT particular list) sadly is only good for about 35% of the lists. That means, be ready to NEVER leave, cause those that did NOT suppress your info WILL re add it. Theirs is also a discrepancy with how many lists each member actually gets submitted to (the one that paid for the service) gets more results then everyone else in your circle. IE: Mine is 1284 lists, the one below that is only 500-ish, and the last one is only 250 lists... uhhhhh... follow the issue? i will not be renewing

We appreciate you sharing your concerns, though we would like to clear up some misunderstandings regarding how our service works.

Incogni does not give your data to brokers to sell. According to privacy laws such as the GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA, data brokers are legally prohibited from using the information provided in a removal request for any purpose other than processing that request. They cannot legally "add" you to new marketing lists based on a deletion inquiry.

Regarding the Custom Removals, this tool allows you to submit specific links you find so our team can prioritize their removal. This is included in our service to give you more control, without submitting the link, we won't be able to find it and remove it.

The variation in list counts occurs because no two people have the same digital footprint. Our system identifies which brokers are most likely to hold a specific individual's data. It is normal for different family members to have different levels of exposure.

We are dedicated to ensuring data brokers comply with these requests to the best of our abilities. If you feel there is a technical discrepancy with your account's list counts, please reach out to us at support@incogni.com so we can investigate.

I chose Ingogni after watching a YouTube video by The Black Belt Barrister

I chose Ingogni after watching a YouTube video by The Black Belt Barrister. I trust his reccomendations and had recently been subject to 2 scams. I am not sure this is 100% effective but does give reasurence. An attempted scam it couldn't protect was when hackers breached Booking.Com data. Luckily I did not loose money but was considerably inconvenienced. I reported to both the Police and Incogni

Junk calls resumed within days

Subscribed to avoid junk calls. Doesn't work. It worked for a few days, then the calls resumed, even while the subscription was active. I notified them and they responded with gibberish but did not fix the system.

We’re sorry to hear you haven’t seen the results you expected yet.

To clarify the process, most data brokers legally have 30–45 days to process removal requests. Even after your data is deleted, it can take an additional few weeks for companies that buy those lists to update their databases and stop calling you.

Please also keep in mind that Incogni cannot block spam from services where you have voluntarily subscribed or explicitly agreed to receive promotions.

We are dedicated to ensuring data brokers comply with these requests to the best of our abilities and are constantly expanding our reach. If you have further questions, please reach out to us at support@incogni.com.
