RV Rental Experience

Kaleb, Abe, and Jason provided excellent service and gave us clear instructions on how to operate our vehicle and its amenities. The RV was in clean and optimal condition and the trip was very lovely. Thank you guys!

Zero Stars for Indie Campers!! Not even one. Still ongoing issue today!

I have never written a review about anything ever so that how bad Indie Campers is!! One of the worst experiences of my life! Had reserved weeks in advance for a trip of a lifetime and yet when we arrived for pick up, they had no record of my reservation. Arrived from Canada @10am and after hours of headache ended up on the road over 7 hours after we were supposed to leave. After having just picked up our relocation RV in Seattle Washington, we’d been driving for maybe two hours through rush-hour traffic when the tire pressure gave out and the front driver side tire went flat on the highway! After almost getting in an accident, I carefully pulled over to the side of the road and called the 24 hour helpline. After a ton of back-and-forth, trying to explain the situation over text on WhatsApp (the only form of communication offered by the company).. the Indie camper service person informed me that I would have to tow it to the nearest garage myself. It had taken so long to get the RV initially rented, that all the garages were of course closed. We were left stranded on the side of the highway all night and well into the next day until locals offered to help me remove the flat tire myself, drive it into town, buy a new tire and drive all the way back to the stranded vehicle with my teenage son inside.. As we were told by the 24hr indie “helper” that for insurance purposes someone needed to stay with the vehicle at all times! After driving to town with strangers and leaving my son on the side of road with no cell service for hours; I got the new tire 750$ USD (out of pocket), drove back to the rv on the side of the road and the locals helped me jack it up and change the tire out. All the while, Indie camper 24hr service had been unresponsive and no help whatsoever! After the whole ordeal we should have returned the vehicle to its original location and started fresh with a different company. But after being assured a reimbursement for the tire..we foolishly believed them and continued on. We were told it’d be sorted out in San Fransisco upon arrival. When we got there, they had no record of our reservation at all! Upon returning the RV in San Francisco, they assured me that I would be reimbursed for the tire but to this day I have yet to see a dime! They have given me nothing but headache. I’ve been messaging them about it for almost à year now! They kept telling me it’s coming but it hasn’t. Most recent excuse is that they now need all my bank information in order to process the reimbursement for the cost of the tire. I have never felt so scammed in all my life. The lies, the deceit and the absolute neglect for client safety was unprecedented. I truly hope that no one experiences what we did at the hands of this negligent, dishonest company. Im believing that this review will at very least prevent this from ever happening to someone else. Steer clear of Indie Campers!!

0 stars actually. This company is so horrible, that the experience with them makes you want to burn them to the ground, posting reviews where you never have before.

This place is the most professional seeming scam I've personally ever experienced.
They care Nothing for the customer, except making money off of them.
We paid for 15 days of a rental, eventhough there was no rental company or vehicle where we were directed to go! What a nice way for them to make free money, $2600!. In the mean time, they didn't mind leaving me high and dry, at night, with no vehicle!
And anytime you need their help, like simply notifying them you need to alter the pickup time by a couple hours, they're happy to charge you an outrageous fee.

Good luck if you go forward with them, a real gamble.

The Trust pilot review site states it has removed fake reviews... Which I presume many of the 5 star reviews are.

Filthy rv with mold!

We picked up our rv at vancouver.
They were a little pushy with us being on time. When we got there, the place was understaffed, and the van seemed a little dirty. However once we reached our campground and pulled out the bed, we noticed the windows and mattress were filled with mold!
It was a filthy van.
Besides they gave us an empty fresh water tank and a filled Grey water tank.
After talking to customer service. I realized that they have a staff that has 0 passion for the outdoors.
In the past I used ourdoorsy, much better experience renting from particulars.
Perhaps indie campers is better in Europe, but in Canada, they have a company with incompetent staff and rvs with 0 maintenance.

The agent was very rude and ilegal charge

The agent was very rude, gave us the Van after 1 hour, the van was dirty and in the end told us everything was fine. After some days I had a charge of 701,24€ for damages that were not indicated in the check out and I had no way of proving it was me who did them.

And for an unpleasant surprise, they tried to charge the money via another card I used to buy an extra for the van.

This is a very shady behaviour and I refuse to pay anything without someone telling me what I onw, and why.

NOT ''comfortable'' at all...

They call the campervan 'Comfort'. Well, that has not really been the case. A plastic foam ''mattress'' which felt like a wooden plank with huge dents and this for two weeks straight with back pain every morning. I won't call this a comfortabel experience. Besides, given customer service the chance to responds and resolve but they just apologise and simply don't care about comfort at all. VERY dissapointing. Especially if you consider our own taken measurements (purchase of a mattress topper) less than 2% of the spent price to this company.. they are not willing to contribute a penny.

the real deal

Better explain the toll road system. That was our only real hassle and we suspect it is just starting. Otherwise it was the real deal. We got what we wanted.
