Rejected returns and Bad TurboTax card

I also have had rejected returns. The IRS says I owe $35, I filed with TurboTax and was supposed to get a $900 return. ??? I have no deductions. Just short form with two part time employers income. I paid for the service!!! TurboTax Debit card is horrible. The customer service is in India and the language barrier is formidable at times. They gave me incorrect information 5 times and there is no resolution and no American office to have a conversation with. Internet banking is only for the pushover type person. There is nothing smart about doing business with this company. I feel so bamboozeled by this company. I quit. Going back a brick n mortar financial institution. A credit union perhaps? STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING INTUIT! You have been warned.

Very difficult to delete your account/PII

I tried to use TurboTax for the first time (Premier Online). I found that it hid too much information and I couldn't validate what it was doing or going to send to the federal government. It is geared to using as a linear wizard and user willing to trust it implicitly. I therefore decided to delete all information and my account so that Intuit no longer has my PII.

They make deleting an account very difficult. You have to read all kinds of articles, ultimately make a phone call to Support, stay on the phone for 30 minutes while they ask for more identity information, and then wait for them to send you a form to fill out which includes having to upload highly personal documents such as driver’s license or passport. That is the last thing I want to do when I am trying to get all my PII and data expunged from their cloud servers! I want to complain about this, but the only way to do that is to call back to Support! Very frustrating! And you know what they are doing: trying to keep that data for some faint hope of customer retention, and for its potential future value to their business.

Turbo Tax personnel do not have the…

Turbo Tax personnel do not have the intelligence to be simplistic in the context of a layman thus the "connection" necessary to convey information is completely missing from their program.

Today would have been my 6th year and hardly had any issues in the past.

Today would have been my 6th year using their services. But they chose to end it. There was insistence on using the app because apparently you could take a picture of your forms rather than having to type all the information in, so I installed the app. The only form I have for any income for 2020 is an SSA-1099, and contrary to their help page, there's no way to input that. When I use the app help function to find out how to input it, it says to tap the button bellow. Button doesn't work. I asked why the button doesn't work, it suggested reinstalling the app I just installed not even 3 minutes prior. It also asked if I earned any digital income, but never asks how I got it or how much. So I tried using the website. Won't let you there, either. I tried calling the customer service number and it won't let you connect to a "specialist" without knowing why you are calling, but when it finds out why, it won't connect you to a "specialist" and insists you either get the same incorrect information emailed or texted to you, otherwise it hangs up. So I tried calling the number for their direct deposit card I have and found out I have a negative ballance. Now I have two questions. However, they keep putting me on hold to speak to a representative, then hanging up while I'm on hold, before I ever get connected to a representative. And here I am after three hours of not being able to file my tax return because they won't let me input the SSA-1099.

I will not be using TurboTax or any other Intuit services again.

I Used A TurboTax to file my return on…

I used TurboTax to file my return on Feb.12th. I thought it was supposed to be free, but because I had to attach a paper from my school for tax credits it ended up costing $80.00. It’s now March 30th, I still haven’t received my refund from the IRS and it says it’s processing. I never received my second stimulus, which I had to claim on this years taxes, or the third stimulus. But, I did receive an email from TurboTax stating that since I signed an agreement with them, they would be taking $80.00 out of my account even though I haven’t received a refund, because they’re tired of waiting on their money. Next year I’m filing for free on the IRS website. Don’t use TurboTax, it’s a ripoff!

USED TURBOTAX FOR 10 YEARS NEVER AGAIN

I received the Turbotax card and did not read the fine print that said I could only ATM withdrawal $3000 a month so when my ATM withdrawals kept being declined it took me 2 days and hours only hold and several different people via chat to be told about the limits. I was then advised to go to the bank for teller withdrawal, did just that was denied. Called again lady told me try again in an hour informed her bank would be closed and asked to speak to a supervisor ( just to ensure that I wouldn't be wasting my time going back to the bank in the morning). I waited on hold for an hour and fifteen minutes. Meanwhile I used my sons phone to talk to someone but the first four times dialing with his line I mentioned I was just looking to speak with a supervisor to get an issue handled and was hung up on three times. and talked via chat which they don't even read what you write so not sure I was even speaking to a person like they said. They all had the same answer wait an hour..... I asked how I could just close my acoount because there is too much hassle and they gave me information how to fund my account furhter and then ran through the process to get a refund check.HANDS DOWN THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!

Do not use TurboTax

Turbotax helped us complete our taxes but it was done incorrectly and what’s more, we have to contact them again to amend! What’s more, we updated our banking info but they did not give it to the irs who sent my stimulus to the wrong account! This has resulted in no tax refund and no stimulus and we desperately need it!

Had to upgrade to Deluxe edition

Had to upgrade to Deluxe edition. I entered in extra to see if I could get anything more back that would be worth the deluxe. Didn't get anything back and at the end when i wanted to get rid of that stuff it was so complicated that I could not do it easily. I thought maybe entering in my payment info would give me a cart and show me where the added charge was but that was not the case. Then, once you've paid, you cannot go back and get rid of it for your money back. It feels like a scam man. I wish i had just used the IRS website to file instead. At least that is some kind of protection. Third party companies like this can get away with, basically taking our money by misguiding us, and then say they cannot do anything about it. I am seriously upset. I had planned to use this service forever since my grandad uses it. However, I see now it is a scam and he just uses it because he has the money to blow on this luxury. This is not a service that will get you more money back. It just preys on people wanting the most back while looking at how much they're getting at the top of the screen. VERY DISPLEASED.

I used turbo tax for my 2020 return

I used turbo tax for my 2020 return. I was told that I would receive an email about why my return was made zero once it was accepted. I was also told that I could make changes and not be charged the 220. You would think you use the product that the return would be correct but that’s extra so the lady says. I’m a poor woman and can’t afford to have money taken when they walk you through it and say it’s correct. I will never use them again.

Turbo tax is a joke

Turbo tax is a joke. False advertising with the biggest refunds. With I don’t expect a million dollars back. Is sad that I work all year long and pay taxes to be told at the end of the year that you’re not getting anything back instead you owe money. Every time I’ve done it with a real person I always get a refund back. Expect with turbo tax. Fraud and sad. I will never do my taxes again with turbo tax.

I was forced to upgrade from the free to the deluxe edition of turbotax in order to qualify for a "lifetime learning credit". There was no option to skip and forsake the credit. After the upgrade, it told me I didn't qualify for any additional money from the credit. One big scam.

My third stimulus check will be $0 vs $2.800

My third stimulus check will be $0. If I would have waited until later in March to file 2020 taxes my check would have been $2,800 because it would have been based on my 2019 return. I am very disappointed with turbotax that I didn’t receive a warning that because of a large increase in my adjusted gross income you may want to wait to file 2020 until checks are received.

Expensive, but it works

Expensive, but it works. I had to pay a lot of money, but the forms mostly got me through the process quickly and when I had a problem, I got through to a customer representative within 5 minutes. This compares favorably to H&R Block, whose tax software does not work and which makes you wait in line for an hour to get any help.

TrickeryTax is what their name should be!

I have used TurboTax for 5 years now and this year I talked my son into using the program to do his own taxes. He called me completely infuriated to let me know that they tricked him into thinking he had to choose these extras and it cost him $110 to file. He qualified for the free!!! What used to be a wonderful company has turned into a den of thieves. They have definitely lost our business!! When I did mine I ended paying more than I've ever paid in my life to file my taxes. I am so disappointed. How can you trust them to do a good job for you after they've forced you into purchasing ridiculous upgrades while holding your completed tax forms as ransom. It's disgusting.

I have used TurboTax for > 10 yrs and…

I have used TurboTax for > 10 yrs and each year it has become more complicated and less intuitive (so much for being owned by intuit). After spending hours on attempting a go around for sale of a second home, I relented and waited on-line for 62 mins to talk to a live person. After walking through a number of different steps, it was obvious that the software does not allow you to file a 1099S (despite numerous help boxes telling how to do it). Clearly a software issue that their tech and myself were unable to solve. I was then transferred to a CPA and not surprisingly, the phone was disconnected after 15 additional minutes. And again, to no great surprise, there was no call back, even though Turbo Tax requested all this info before I was allowed to talk to a live person. It reminded me of the Wizard of Oz, once Dorothy got inside the castle, the Wizard couldn't help her. Unless your taxes are extremely simple, you are best to avoid Turbo Tax. They aren't even close to the original company. I will try H&R Block next. Fingers crossed.
