I used turbo free filer for the first…

I used turbo free filer for the first time. I have to say it was very simple. Customer service is no help... true enough. And also they don't update the status of your return like the wheres my refund link. Other then that it was ok. Will use them again. My refund is on the way. The irs accepted my return on the 14th. I filed on the 13th and funds will be available on March 3rd.

I've used this software for my personal…

I've used this software for my personal and business for 10 years. The first time I ever call them because I'm audited and I get 4 different people and the last one puts me on hold for 25 minutes and then disconnects me. Total call time was over an hour. I'll never use another Intuit product again!

Unhappy with hidden price upgrades

The software does a good job at filing your taxes. Don't believe their advertisements that it's free however. Unless all you need to do is file a simple 1040EZ, they charge for every little additional form you need to file. And once they're done charging for dubious upgrades, they want to charge you another $40 for the privilege of allowing them to deduct your fees from your federal return. I've been using TurboTax for years, and I'll be looking for another less expensive option next year from a company that hasn't lobbied the Federal Government to not offer a free, easy to use option for American Taxpayers.

I have filed with turbotax for nine…

I have filed with turbotax for nine years. This year the menu is more awkward. You cannot compare last year's data alongside this year for easy identification of mistakes or changes for all subcategories. Also, you are not able to take a look at an actual review of your filing until after you have paid.

Nothing but Frustration!!!

We purchased a Turbotax and it was nothing but one problem after another. My husband worked for days on a return that should have been simple and basic. An error message kept coming up and no way could he fix it. It said on the program you could pay $54.99 for help. There is also an 800# to call. He did and spent 2 1/2 hours with a tech and then got cut off. They never returned the call. No help there.
This year's program is not as easy to use anymore as previous years. It's gotten really messed up. Who wants to spent that much time and frustration on a simple return????
I suggested my husband go buy a U-file program.

Customer support is no help

Customer support is no help. I called as I could not reset my password as my cell# was changed. I tried the longer way of getting in and it said it did not recognize me as primary name on file??? Hello I have been doing my taxes online for 3 years now. Anyhow I called and spoke with agent who said she put in request to update my number to get the code. My number has not been updated. The worse is she said oh please rate this call once you get your ticket number. I did and then a few hours later I got an email saying my ticket issue was resolved which it is not. I tried calling a few days ago and this annoying robot voice asks you questions when you want to talk to someone live. Once I got to a live person it rang, silence and then line went dead.

I just got Turbotax Business software…

I just got Turbotax Business software for Business. Just getting the program to work on my 3 month old computer was an ordeal of more than 1.5 hours and eventually involved spending 35 minutes on hold and speaking to customer service. The program worked fine once installed until I tried to download the state program which I could not do and now I'm waiting on hold again to see if they can get their software to work. Seriously, it's not worth the aggravation.

THIS YEAR'S VERSION HAS A GLITCH

THIS YEAR'S VERSION HAS A GLITCH. Up until this year, I really enjoyed TurboTax, and found it easy to use. This year my federal and state tax returns were rejected for an "AGI" or "PIN" issue. It is not the AGI. I checked. It must be a glitch or something. I don't know for sure because there is no way to talk to a human. Their Bot is infuriating. I am in Ethiopia for work, apparently they can't call me here. I can't call them. I can't contact a person through the chat, just the useless Bot. I can't find any sort of email to get assistance. Save yourself a headache. Just pay H&R block. That's what I'm going to do next year.

Wont' use it again

I've used Turbo tax for several years and never had an issue. This year my state return was rejected and I got an email from turbo tax saying it was because they needed to update their software. Finally, 2 weeks after filing they got the right software and I could re-file. RIDICULOUS that an online software isn't updated automatically. And my return didn't change so whatever it was for didn't impact me. I won't be using again.

Horrible Customer Service!

Agree with other reviews. I've been using Turbotax for several years with no issues. This year, they have not e-filed my state return despite the fact I paid the fee to do so. I have made several customer service calls to no avail, have been promised a call back - which didn't occur and have been hung up on. HELP! I simply want my state return e-filed as I paid for!

Turbo Tax has worst support in the whole world.

Turbo tax charged me for State efile. My efile was rejected and I now have file by mail.

Turbo tax will not return the 21.50 it they put on my charge, before they verified if the efile worked or not.

They have the worst support in the world.

I have called numerous times, after holding for more than 1 hour, person answered the phone, then hung up.

I've used turbo tax for 20 + years, and now I'm looking to use other software.

They have the worst support in the world.

Good software - -lousy support!

The system is quite comprehensive and I have used it for years with no problem. This year I hit a bug. after my return was finished, e-filed and receipt confirmed by the IRS, when I tried to print the ES vouchers they came out printed: "Do not File. Not Final". I called the support line - had to hold for 55 minutes. When I finally got someone, the rep told me I had to wait 3 days and the problem would be resolved. He promised someone would follow up the third day to be sure the problem was resolved - -so I wouldn't need to wait another hour to get support. Well the third day arrived - nothing was resolved and no one called. Several more days passed --still no resolution and no call. I finally had to get paper vouchers from another source and complete them manually. My case number -in the event Turbotax wants to follow up was 470187345.
Conclusion: the system is fine - -but the customer support is really bad.

LIED TO....

LIED TO.... called multiple times and been promised a follow up and return call.... never happened. When I provided a manager with the ticket number I was given, she had no idea what it was. WHY TRUST TURBO TAX WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WHEN THEIR CORPORATE CULTURE ALLOWS LYING and PROVIDES NO FOLLOW UP ????????

I COULD NOT BELIEVE how rude they were being!!

Just spend all day on the phone with turbo tax. This was horrible customer service.

I spent all day on the phone trying to get help with an error on turbotax online- specifically entering in investment "wash sales" that were 0, but the site wouldn't let me enter that, even after the "specialists" confirmed the number was accurate.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with an agent, Joseph, in addition to 3 other agents today. I was respectful, given that it wasn't his fault I was on the phone all day, but I couldn't believe how disrespectful he was being towards me!!

Joseph made the bold accusation that I was “refusing” to follow his directions- which is absurd!!!!

He refused to acknowledge there was an issue that I, and many others were having on the site, and still billed me. I asked to speak to a manager- apparently there are none. I asked for a refund and because I "used the service" I couldn't get one.

They kept asking me the same questions, over and over again, NO new information or assistance at all. They literally had no idea what they were doing. He kept saying it wasn't his fault.

This was the most awful experience that I have had with turbo tax, and I could not file my taxes after entering in EVERYTHING.

I will be disputing the charge, filing a complaint, and leaving Turbo Tax. I can’t believe how little respect they have for their customers. This was such a bizarre and truly horrible experience.

First of all I would just like to say…

First of all I would just like to say that I have been filing my taxes with H&R Block for years and have never run across what I ran into with Turbo Tax. I usually have no problem filing except last year I had a life change and H&R unfortunately did not have the form I needed to proceed.They were trying to get me to upgrade by paying $29.99 and of course I decided not to because I never file and have to pay a fee and they did not have the form I needed to have generated. Now when you file you have to file using your 1095-A form if you have Market place to generate what the IRS says is a 8962 to calculate the premium tax credit. When you claim this it could reduce your tax liability and it reconciles the payment by letting the IRS know if you received to much of an overpayment or if it balances out. It is important to use software that automatically generates this form or the IRS will reject it and send you a letter asking for an amended tax return. This was my first time doing this for my taxes and it was quite challenging already. I was disappointed that I had to be stopped right in the middle and could not go on further with H&R block. Then I start to research other sites that may allow me to file for free and came across Turbo tax. I felt this would be another option since they indicated on the site that you can file for free as well. So, my son and I began the task of adding in information to complete our taxes. Through out the entire process they were trying to get us to upgrade which was very annoying considering the fact that I chose to file for free. My son was wrapping up his taxes and they said he could not proceed unless he paid $40 I was furious and felt like we had been lied to. So my son said he would go ahead and pay the fee since he had put in all of his information. I proceeded to continue doing my taxes and figured okay lets hope that at the end they give you an option to file for free. Was I disappointed when I got to the end already exhausted from dealing with H&R to find out that this company wanted me to upgrade to an even higher package live deluxe package that was a whopping $90 I almost fainted. I was truly appalled. They are liars I and will NEVER use this site again Free is suppose to mean Free! There was no way I was going to be bullied into paying for an upgrade I did not ask for. Turbo Tax should be ashamed of themselves especially during this time families are struggling as it is. To have to be told you cannot proceed after you did all of that work. Thank God I'm not a push over and that I was more determined than ever to find a site that would help me. Finally heaven sent me Tax Act from the IRS.gov file for free site. It was easy to use and they had everything I needed to file my taxes accurately and they put my mind at ease finally when it was time for me to wrap up FREE federal and FREE state they did both by the way. Now my taxes are filed without these rip off artist getting any of my money. So please be aware do not use turbo tax if you want to file for free they will trick you into doing taxes with them then try to get you in the end. One of the worse experiences I have had they made it very unpleasant for me filing my taxes with them for the first time, I will not do it again and I'm praying that a lot of people see this review. Do not use Turbo tax if you plan on filing for free they will try and rip you off $90 really no thanks.

Unbelievable Crap

Unbelievable - client for 15+ years - tried to buy and download 2020 standard Cdn package- they lost all my previous login info - tried to create new account - clicked for download package - it booted me over to online filing which I do not want - spent excruciating time trying to contact a live person - then I couldn't download 2020 package because Microsoft Smart Screen says the download is from an unknown publisher??? googled that, seems they've had a problem with that back to at least 2018 complaints. Are you kidding> they can't get their sh&t together with Windows?? I'm now going to find out if I can short the company's shares - spent an hour of frustration on what should have taken 3 minutes max as in the past.

Yikes my guy

Yikes my guy. We spent 2 hours getting the information down, and there was some confusion on how the stimulous check effected my tax, as i went from a dependant to an independent. They couldn't answer this so i called the irs and that took a while, and now they're saying ill "have to do it over again" you suck turbotax

Returns in process disappeared from Turbo Tax. Terrible Customer Service

I have been using Turbo Tax forever, 20+ years. Have never had a problem until this year. I have been working on several returns for my family. Yesterday I attempted to open Turbo Tax to continue working on the files and was prompted to enter my license code again. When I did, it opened but all the returns I had been working on where no longer there. Called customer service several times got the automated system which could not answer/understand my question. When I was finally able to reach alive agent I was on the phone for over 1 hour. The gentleman was very nice but could not help. He attempted to get assistance from "higher" ups. When it seemed that maybe he had received some information we got disconnected. How frustrating. There should be a mechanism were the agent could reconnect with me or me with him. Very frustrating experience. Now I have to do the returns all over again and pray this situation doesn't happen again.
