Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as incompetent and unhelpful. People frequently encountered issues with the service provided, including problems with repairs, lost items, and a lack of communication. Reviewers also felt that the pricing for repairs was often unreasonable, sometimes exceeding the cost of a new product. Some people were dissatisfied with the product quality, citing instances where devices were returned in worse condition or with new damage. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with their experience, particularly when their devices passed checks without issue or when they received a brand-new replacement product instead of a repair.

Waiting for over a month and now silent about a refund

My order of a screen replacement and toolkit was ordered and paid for on the 30th of July. After 2 weeks of waiting I emailed asking for an update, only to be told that they are still waiting for the part to arrive from samsung. It has now been over a month and my patience has worn out so I once again emailed IM to say that if the items have still not been received and dispatched to cancel the order and issue a full refund. That was 5 days ago and am still waiting for a response/refund. Next step will be to contact citizens advice and trading standards.

NEVER order from Ingram Micro

I run a campus bookstore.

After working on it for several months, I finally secured a large, $20,000 order from a department at the College. This order had the potential to open up a new market here, and potentially generate up to $60-80k annually in sales.

I say "had" because Ingram Micro screwed up this order so badly, there is no chance the College will ever order any computer equipment from us again.

First, the shipment arrived in a box that looked like it was packed by an angry 13 year-old. (I have pictures.)

Then, Ingram sent us the wrong MacBooks.

Then, they refused to admit the mistake, and refused to take them back. They charged us more to order the correct units.

Then, it turns out that half of the iPads delivered were already registered to a different school, and are locked - so they are unusable.

Now, they say they never even sold them to us in the first place. (I have the PO, and photos of the beat up box they came in.)

FOUR MONTHS later, still not fixed.

Ingram Micro has so thoroughly screwed up this simple order that I have lost any chance of repeat sales.

Do you think customer service like this from Ingram Micro would be good for YOUR business?

Shambolic service! I will never do another Sky Mobile Swap again, if I even remain with Sky. Why they use Ingram Micro as a company to check returned mobile phones I do not know. They marked my phone as lost or stolen/blocked from the Sky network and have caused a huge delay in my swap being completed. I will most likely be charged on my next bill by Sky for a device I am no longer in possession of.

Ingram terrible, go elsewhere

Ingram has really lost their customer support...After working with this company 15yrs, the last year they've moved sales to Phillipines and no one answers a phone or wants to help anymore. The US reps are not helpful as they just send everything to Phillipines as well...I spent 3hrs today trying to get support, Sales or management and got nothing but voicemail and automated system responses..if you need a distributor I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Very poor service via Sky Protect …

Very poor service via Sky Protect …. Sent my iPhone 12 Pro Max silver in for repair (with 97%) battery health and received a blue replacement with 85% health (battery needs replacing at 80%). I complained about the battery and they said I would need to do another exchange. After further delays I finally received a replacement blue iPhone (again) with 85% battery (again) but this time the microphone also doesn’t work!! I called again and they are sending yet another replacement but this will need extra authorisation as “I’m claiming for so many”!! What a shambles this refurbishment team must be. Avoid Sky Protect and Ingrams mobile exchange service!

As a retailer, don't buy from Ingram Micro. Get a different distributor.

As a retailer, purchasing from Ingram Micro is a mistake.

My store ordered about $24,000 worth of iPads and MacBooks from them. (12 each)

The box arrived looking like it had been packed by an angry 11 year old having a tantrum.

Then I realize that they have sent the wrong MacBook - 12 units, wrong model, each worth about $400 less than what we ordered.

Then they said the mistake was our fault, and refused to take them back. We had to cut a new PO for the correct ones...

THEN, it turns out that of the 12 iPads, half had already been registered to some school in Los Angeles, and were locked so that ONLY that school could use them. Meaning dozens of man-hours having our Tech dept. contact Apple to try and unlock the machines.

It isn't just the utter incompetence of whoever was working in their warehouse that day, it's the abject refusal of Ingram Micro to take responsibility for the mistake and make amends.

It all adds up to remarkably bad customer service.

My advice: Find a different distributor.

Got worried reading reviews!

Had an accident with my Samsung Fold Z4 resulting in internal screen not working. Had cover via Nationwide. Contacted assurant who advised to send to their repair centre (IM). Posted on 3/6/24 was notified along every step, received same phone (not replacement) fully repaired, fully functioning, no new damages on 8/6/24.
Coming across the company reviews did get me worried, but thought lets wait and see. But cant fault them whatsoever from start to finish, and am very satisfied. I dont know if they have multiple sites, some more efficient than others. But wanted to leave my review here for others to see, although there are alot of negative reviews here, there are also some positive experiences too. Hope it helps.

Awful Experience

As others have said here: They lose your phone and don't bother to fix it. They have had my phone for 3 weeks, know who received it, but apparently don't know where it went after. Instead they simply tell you that "It's beyond economic repair", while also admitting they don't even know where it is! Instead of any hope of seeing your phone again, you'll be given a refurbished phone of poor quality as replacement, while they eventually refurbish your phone and sell the best ones as grade A refurbishments to third parties. They won't match colour either, so say goodbye to anything unique as I dare bet they're the first ones to go 'missing'.

Simply put, do your research and avoid any gadget cover that involves these chumps (O2, Vodafone, Sky, Monzo, all do) - for an extra £11 I was able to add a new phone to my Household Contents policy which guarantees new for old if it cannot be repaired.

THEY LOSE YOUR PHONE AND DONT FIX IT

These people are the so-called "experts' who "fix" the phones for Sky Mobile..
I cannot fit the whole saga on here as it would take about three days to read it all .. so in a nutshell, they had my phone for SIX WEEKS ..claimed it wasn't my phone so attempted to send it me back..they then sent me a broken iPad which was not mine and sent my iphone god knows were !!!..after three weeks of it being missing it miraculously appeared and they sent it back to me ..they failed to tell me it was unrepairable and even attempted to book it back in for repair..SO BASICALLY THEY HAD MY PHONE FOR SIX WEEKS..LOST IT THEN SENT IT ME BACK UNREPAIRED..CLUELESS "EXPERTS" WHO I WOULDNT TRUST WITH ANYTHING YOU VALUE.

Sent my £500 phone in and was offered £270 which I reluctantly accepted.
I was then offered £50 and the email made its way into my junk mail (clever).
I found it on time and they are sending me my phone back. I was so close to being scammed.
Be SO SO CAREFUL.

first impression not good so far

Recently signed up with this company as a partner, and have been trying to transfer Google Workspace accounts, which won't work for some reason, and chasing emails for a few weeks trying to get replies.

They are not very pro-active with their tickets, you do seem to have to chase them for responses.

All my emails to them have been polite, but just because I put "???" 3 question marks in an email asking for an update, Dan gets completely triggered and I get a very unprofessional response making ridiculous false accusations that I am "being demanding" by using the ??? characters, showing no decency or respect and other made up silliness.

There also seems to be lots of gaslighting, at least from this 1 person.

What kind of ridiculous unprofessional mentally unhinged snowflakery is this.... I am starting to wonder what have I gotten myself into here.
If things improve I will update this review.

Scammers, avoid avoid avoid

AirPods sent via Amazon for repair, returned without repair stating that they had provided me with a new pair as cannot fix the fault. Scammers sent me the exact same AirPods that I sent for repair inside a new box thinking that they’re clever BUT serial numbers don’t lie and they were still faulty! Not very clever scammers but they are scammers. Record all serial numbers before you send for repair and it’ll be harder for them to scam you!

Questionable phone recycling service

This company's phone recycling service is highly questionable. Have inadvertently sent them 2 devices (via large mobile networks) in perfect working order with a quoted trade-in value. On both ocassions the value has been downgraded due to "damage". When queried, photos have been sent back of damage to the device that seems very unlikely to have been caused in transit. No photos of the damaged packaging (which they provided for the return) are available on request. Will be avoiding and suggest others do the same.

Awful service. Do not use them.

Awful service. Xaiomi phone supposed to be returned within 14 days free due to warranty repair. Told no I had to pay for it and then claim it back from Amazon which they actually agreed to but then didnt refund!!! Phone was not returned for more than 3 weeks and as of this moment I havent got it back. INGRAM MICRO SERVICES NORWICH GB as per their email and receipt have no idea where it is. Managed to track down a chap called Alex here who said he would help but sounded so stoned he couldnt find a way to enter the Customer return number CR NO. and didnt know where reception or how to connect, Then he told me the phone line was owned by Lenovo although the 1st thing that happens when you call them is the recording says this is no longer a Lenovo repair centre, He was also unable to pass me to another person or department and wouldnt help with providing another number.
Additional Edit as per the 24/4/2024.
Really do not use -- after almost 4 weeks I have now received the phone back with a lovely letter saying how they fixed the device, gave it a refurb of all internal componunts and they installed software updates to improve the battery life and increase the opperating speed. All great -- until you switch it on and they hadnt done any of this -- the 1st thing that was needed was an update to the software and security patch going back to Feb 24!!! then about 20 other updates to the pre installed apps. Then after all that they hadnt fixed the problem at all. Still had the same issue as it went in for and the finger print reader was not even availiable in the security option to turn on let alone worked. Long and short was after a number of emails they said it wasnt their problem, they would not refund the repair charge and they stopped responding to emails. This is their email tag so you can avoid if possible.

AVOID THESE SCAMMERS

Please do not send your device to this company. I sent a Samsung Z flip 4 to be repaired under warranty as the screen had started to fail along the fold line (a common fault), other than this the phone was pristine and had been looked after. I even spoke to Samsung who confirmed that it would be covered under warranty but it was a 3 week wait for an appointment for repair. Ingram informed us that the damage wasn't covered under warranty and sent us a bill for £350, I asked for it to be returned unrepaired, which it eventually was, although the packaging was rubbish and provided very little protection. Upon receiving the phone back there was damage to the device which wasn't there previously. The damage wasn't a lot but just enough to invalidate the warranty.
