Got these shoes in a sale for £60. I was a loyal x-talon 212 wearer for years, so this is a very different shoe. There is not as much feel for the ground, as the shoe has a thicker sole, but the shape of the shoe is comfortable. Have only done one run in them so far and they felt very adequate on slippery chalky muddy hills. Will be interesting to see the longevity of the new "plasticky" outer layer, and I'm not sure how well they will drain once it gets proper wet. (This review has been amended as I thought i was reviewing the trailfly when I wrote the first edition! Apologies for that) Overall very happy with my purchase.

I have not been able to get the correct size for me as 6.5 was too small and 7 too big but good grip and comfy on a short race

Great comfortable shoe love the different width sizes so can get the prefered fit. Chose these instead of the speed version as the back around the ankle area is far more comfortable and hasn’t given me blisters

Really pleased that you made a shoe that has got the comfort and cushioning for ultra distance, and the lugs to deal with proper UK mud! After a few wears, I would agree they are not a fast shoe but definitely what I need for long distance muddy trail races.

If you are looking for a quality shoe Inov8 has it figured out! I own the F-Lite 290 and now the TrailFly Ultra G 300. They are both used in a gym setting, the F-Lite for lifting and the TrailFly for cardio. My problem is what happens after you get your shoes. In both of my experiences a week after getting my shoes fraudulent charges started showing up on my credit card. The first time I thought maybe it was a fluke but now that it has happened a second time! Great shoes but be prepared to find out how good your credit card's fraud services are!!

Where do I start? As a 75 year old struggling along I feel a bit out of place amongst you super-fit youngsters, for me its more 'old man hobbling' than running. Anyway I had a problem with the soles of my feet after about an hours running - people say as you get older you loose the padding in your feet. These shoes have solved that problem I can now run for over two hours without any pain. I've had them for a few weeks and done over 100km and there is little or no wear at the heels where most of my shoes go - very hard tread rubber. Running in wet grass with them means wet feet, but then again show me a pair of running shoes that doesn't have the same result. At first use they take a little getting used to feeling a little unstable because of the cushioning but even for an old man not a problem. Plenty of room in the toe-box and they seem well-constructed and the tread gives an excellent grip. Just an idea but it would be interesting if as well as showing the dry-weight of a shoe could you also show the wet-weight?
