Very professional, excellant communication throughout an extremely traumatic move I had recently. I can't recommend enough!

John at Inspire Legal did an efficient job for us selling a garage. I have withheld the 5th star because the initial online form one had to fill in with all the details of the property being sold was not in the least appropriate for a garage - that needs thinking about. The person we ended up talking to on the phone, who could override sections that were not applicable, was good and sorted us out, but it shouldn't have been necessary.

Steer clear. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The service (lack there of) from Inspire Legal Group is laughable. We instructed ILG on 09/08/24 and very quickly it became clear we were going to have a horrible time.
Repeatedly us, our estate agent and the sellers solicitors made attempts to contact both our solicitor directly and ILG themselves and our attempts fell on deaf ears. Months went by with ignored calls, emails and a plethora of empty promises and we were at risk of losing our dream home. We eventually had to switch solicitors 1/11/24 leaving us £318 down.

We submitted a complaint about the terrible service on 31/10/24, expressing our distress at the lies we were given and lack of contact that followed. This complaint then sat unresponded to for over 3 months, finally receiving a reply on 6/2/25 that stated we would receive a response the following week. However, now 21 weeks later, we are still yet to receive any response.

If you like the property you have purchasing and value your own sanity and money. Run. Run far away.
If Home Legal Direct has assigned you ILG, contact them immediately and demand they correct this and offer you another solicitor.

This company is horrendous. We are 12 weeks into a small chain buy and sell and it is verging on collapse due to the ineptitude of the company and staff. No contact at all, emails, phone calls, all ignored. Referred by Purple Bricks. So if you use that agent, find your own solicitor!!! You have been warned ⚠️ avoid avoid avoid!!!!

Whilst sometimes they may have been slow to reply to requests for information, I cannot fault them at all. My seller may not agree but I can't dictate their opinion.

We are absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism, communication, and urgency shown by the solicitors representing the buyer in our chain. Everyone else involved in the sale has been ready to proceed for months, and yet we continue to be left in limbo due solely to their complete inaction. We all agreed sales in August 2024 and it is now 20th April 2025 and we have no idea if this sale is going to go through.

They have consistently failed to respond to emails or answer phone calls from our buyer’s solicitors and agents and as far as we are aware, their actual client! Throughout the process they have ignored clear deadlines that have been communicated time and time again. Despite multiple mortgage deadlines across all buyers and mortgage extensions (now 2x extensions which have all passed), there has been zero communication or progress. This negligence has now cost us thousands of pounds due to stamp duty deadline changes which were clearly communicated from everyone in the chain, and yet of course no communication or even acknowledgement of where we are in the process. All of this and this doesn’t even being to cover the emotional toll it’s taken.

We have a young family and this has been one of the most stressful, exhausting experiences of our lives. Everyone else in our chain is ready and willing to move, and yet we are still being held back while waiting for this solicitor to do what should be a straightforward completion. Shockingly, the last time we had any update from them was over six weeks ago.

We would not wish this experience on anyone. If you’re looking for a solicitor who communicates, meets deadlines, or even remotely considers the human impact of their inaction—look elsewhere.

We recently used inspire legal when we sold and bought our new home. We had James as our conveyancer. He was very approachable and really responsive with any queries we had. They went above and beyond to speed up where possible to make sure we completed the sale before the stamp duty change. We would recommend this company to any of our family and friends.

I went with inspire legal because it was recommended by home legal direct i was quoted just under 1k because it was a right to buy property that i am living in it was a cash buy from a loan from my sister i was having no checks done .. the council gives you 56 days to complete which we did'nt do they extended it for another 56 again did not complete then a final 56 days .. the phone calls go unanswered you never get a response from any emails i had three different people dealing with my purchase .. i had to send paper work into them twice because they sent them to wrong address .. i kept phoning them up for an update never anything to report . I kept phoning council up ..until finally richard from the council said he had never seen such incompitence.. he asked me for their number and phoned them direct and gave them a talking too.. i ended up taking the contract's into the council myself because i had zero confidence in my solicitors doing so .. i was shocked when we finally got it completed but the bill had gone up by over £400 i did'nt question it because i knew if i did it would just be another excuse to not move forward .. i would avoid this company at all cost.. i phoned and emailed home legal direct and asked them why would they put this company forward . They just said sorry they also sent them lots of emails and calls asking what the hold up's were.. the stress this as caused me and my family is unbelievable i am so glad its over.. from 27th september 2024 cash purchase no checks im living in the property had to have two extensions added on because we kept running out of time .finally completed on 24th march 2025 but still not received any paperwork

I wrote a review 2 weeks ago complaining about the state of this company of alleged professionals. My solicitor called me and said that they were aware of the bad review and were "keen to complete" the transaction. Surprise surprise this has yet to take place!

I have received communication this morning that my purchasers mortgage lender has not been given the fire risk assessment documents that were requested by his solicitor in late Feb / March, despite having them to hand for almost 2 months. I know you are reading my reviews so please let me know what exactly it is that your clients are paying you for? To sit on documents? Are you a storage facility or a solicitors?

My purchasers mortgage advisor and my own estate agents are having to communicate directly with the mortgage lender and send this information over to them as this legal group is absolutely useless and can't be trusted to do anything close to basic legal work.

Once again I am reviewing this company to let you know to PLEASE AVOID THEM. Do not waste your own time or your hard earned money, they are absolute con artists and have no desire to help you. You get what you pay for !!!!!

Please avoid at all cost! You know those scary stories you might hear about selling a property, yes that's this one. I kid you not for 5 months during the sale, keep in mind this is a simple no chain sale, out of the 26 questions raised by the seller solicitor only 4 got answered..... I mean where do I start. They don't care about your sale nor what you want

Some of you might think, why did you go with them? They're very cheap, that's why and it was the biggest regret of my life, please don't fall for the cheap cost, they're horrible, read other reviews, they're beyond bad. Don't go for the cheap option as you'll never end up selling your place

I fired them and hired another agency and completed within one month.

Please avoid using this agency at all cost if you're serious about selling your place.

Avoid Inspire Legal at All Costs – The Worst Decision I've Ever Made!
Inspire Legal is, without a doubt, the worst company I have ever dealt with—both professionally and personally.

If you're looking for stress, frustration, and additional costs due to sheer inaction, then Inspire Legal is the firm for you. Otherwise, stay far away.

This company is nothing more than a shell—other reviews explain their failings well. Avoid them.

My Experience with Inspire Legal
In 2023, I initially engaged Inspire Legal for a property sale after a positive start in the first two weeks while buying out my partner. Given this, I decided to use them for selling my mother’s house. She was moving into an empty property, and a disabled person was set to move into hers. All parties involved were eager to proceed, but Inspire Legal dragged the process out for over seven months.

Their conduct was so poor that even other parties in the transaction were considering filing complaints with the Legal Ombudsman. Since I was in direct contact with them, I quickly realized that Inspire Legal was not being truthful in their communications.

Ongoing Issues – They Simply Don't Care
Even today, the title on my property has still not been updated. Inspire Legal has had all the necessary information for eight weeks, yet nothing has been done. The Land Registry has expedited the case, meaning any delays are entirely Inspire Legals fault. Despite my constant follow-ups, they continue to neglect even the simplest of tasks.

One of their senior managers, the only contact I was given for my request, claimed that she doesn’t handle such matters because she is part of senior management. She also stated that their "post-award contract" had ended, implying that no one was assigned to my case. As a result, I’ve been stuck paying a higher mortgage rate for two months, simply waiting for Inspire Legal to act.

A Systemic Problem – Raise Your Complaints
It’s clear that many others are experiencing similar delays, particularly with Land Registry applications being ignored. The only way to hold Inspire Legal accountable is for all affected customers to report them to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)—their regulatory body. Do not delay in starting the complaint process, as there is an eight-week lead time before you can escalate the matter to the Legal Ombudsman.

A Call to Action – Let's Hold Them Accountable

Absolutely, completely useless. Four months 'working' on a very simple conveyancing (no mortgage, no survey) and no sign of a completion date. Emails either unanswered or completely nonsensical. This company is a complete embarrassment. I had to jump ship in the end. Avoid.

Well, what a naughty bunch Inspire Legal are. Bogus review, indeed! I can assure you it is, sadly, a very real review. The police have not been notified, nor has anyone else. In fact, they have probably been libellous in their claims. I have put the same review in Google reviews, which, I think, allow me to post photographs. I will go there and post some screen dumps of the correspondence. Go and have a look, if you're interested.

I have recently used this firm for a house sale, James C was great, really helped to push the sale along to hit completion dates.

Selling our house. From start to finish We cannot fault Inspire Legal Team. We were kept up to date about everything. If We rang and had to leave a message someone rang us back within the hour. We live miles away from them yet felt as though they were round the corner. Well done Inspire and Jose. We would definitely recommend Inspire. Oh and did We mention the price WOW less than half the price of any solicitors near us.
