My experience with this solicitor was excellent. Everyone i spoke to was extremely helpful supportive and understanding. I would always recommend this company to anyone in need of legal advice and assistance.

Joanne was absolutely brilliant, along with her team… we had a purchase and sale with them and multiple issues throughout from further down the chain; yet Joanne supported us all the way through. We were able to speak to her or the team when we needed anything, and I couldn’t have asked for more support through the tricky issues! I would absolutely recommend.

Brilliant support by post completion team.
Special thanks to Konstantina Lamprou in the post completion team dealing with Land Registry for assisting us in expediting our Title Deed registration as we need to get ROFR sorted.
The relationship with Wilford Smith was really awful during the conveyancing stage to be honest. Emails sent no response for months. There should be more people like Konstantina at Wilford Smith!
Thanks again.

Awful company took nearly a year to complete a straightforward purchase with no chain, passed from pillar to post chasing and chasing constantly with at least 5 different people who knew nothing about my purchase, excuses and apologies all the time being told several staff have left the company but nobody takes on the file. Lodged a formal complaint with no response. Eventually completed two weeks ago. They are an absolute nightmare.

Our sale and purchase were completed successfully, and the firm managed a complex transaction involving multiple parties. Property transactions can be demanding, but the case was ultimately brought to completion, and all financial matters were settled. It was reassuring to have a solicitor handling the legal side of things, and we’re grateful that everything was finalised in the end.

The conveyancing process was handled with care, and the transaction was completed professionally. While the process involved several detailed steps, the firm ensured everything was finalised correctly. I’m confident that the work carried out was done with my best interests in mind, and I appreciate the overall service provided during a significant financial decision.

As a Mortgage Broker we rely on Professional entities to deliver the same service we provide to our Clients. Sadly Wilford Smith have fallen short of the minimum standards.
On 3 cases instructed, 1 has missed the expiry of the original Mortgage Offer, when it failed to complete, even after a further 1 month extension was granted by the Lender, this still did not complete.
The 2nd case is approaching Offer expiry and there has been no contact or update from Wilford Smith, leaving the Client 'sofa surfing' for the past 2 months. Myself and my colleagues are chasing throughout, still not knowing if there has been an exchange date set up.
The 3rd case was due to Exchange on 22nd January, only for this not to happen, without communication and there is now a real threat that the case will fall out of bed, the chain will be broken and my Client will then lose the purchase.
The constant thread when attempting to contact Wilford Smith is centered around Staff changes, being extremely busy and Staff being off sick.
1 of my cases has gone through 4 Associates/Solicitors and not surprisingly has still not exchanged!
The bulk standard reply ''Wilford Smith is committed to providing a high quality service'' wears a bit thin and whilst any industry has staff changes, the lack of communication throughout is a major concern, especially in a time critical sector.
My latest contact with the reception staff was engaging, although i fear we both knew that the outcome would be vague if at all.
The Complaints Process offers little comfort, as we are told the case then gets picked up, and reviewed, all the time delaying the actual work that needs to be completed to get the case through the system.
Very frustrating which sadly reflects on the service we are trying to provide.

I echo all of the other honest reviews on here.
I am ashamed at myself for picking this solicitor.
I wish I read deeper into the negative reviews and did not just take the score to make my decision to instruct.
Please be aware.
Also I do not trust the person who responds to these reviews, as I have been in communication with him and nothing has been resolved, no use following “the complaint procedure” either. No one within the company responds.
We would like the disclosure request fulfilled as well as a refund.
New update: I am concerned that you or whoever at Wilford smith flagged my review as having defamatory content - trust pilot have since assessed and have found no issue. Are you doing this with all the honest reviews?
Another update due to WS changing their reply: Still not sure how my review is misleading customers and yet again how it contains anything defamatory.
For clarity again as stated to your colleague, no official complaint has been issued so I’m not sure how anyone’s hand are tied to respond.

I implore anyone thinking of using Wilford Smith to read the negative reviews and choose another solicitor for your own sanity. Based on my experience and the pattern described in other negative reviews, the firm appears to have wider operational issues. I found it concerning that after negative reviews were posted, a large number of positive reviews appeared. I cannot verify the reason for this, but it affected my confidence in the review profile. If you want your sale or purchase to complete, then do not use Wilford Smith. If you want a response to your calls or emails, then do not use Wilford Smith. Issues raised with the complaints director are not resolved and bare communciation is recieved. I regret ever choosing this company. Please look at other review sites also. The conduct of the solictors involved will be reported to SRA aswell as the ombudsman.
Update since my review was posted I received a notification saying the following: “Wilford Smith Solicitors flagged this review for containing harmful or illegal content.“
I ask Wilford Smith, what is illegal or harmful in my review?

We recently completed our property purchase with the help of the solicitors, and our experience had its ups and downs. Initially, we faced challenges as our main case worker kept changing, which made it difficult to establish consistent communication. At times, it became frustrating as we found ourselves frequently chasing for updates on our case.
Despite these challenges, we made every effort to remain patient throughout the process. Ultimately, we had the opportunity to work with Victoria, the head of the department. Victoria picked up our case and impressed us with her promptness and efficiency in dealing with matters. Her support made a significant difference in bringing our property purchase to a successful conclusion.
Overall, while there were some bumps along the road, the service significantly improved under Victoria's management.

We instructed this firm to act on our property purchase over seven months ago. Throughout this period, progress was slow and communication was inconsistent, despite repeated assurances that the matter was under active review.
Key aspects of the transaction were addressed late in the process, and updates were often reactive rather than proactive. As a result, we are now nine days from the contractual completion deadline, with our mortgage offer nearing expiry, placing the purchase at significant risk.
Further concern arose when an internal email exchange, clearly not intended for client circulation, was sent to us in error. The tone and content of that correspondence raised questions regarding oversight and case management.
The cumulative effect of these delays and communication issues is that our purchase is now at risk through no fault of our own, creating avoidable uncertainty and potential financial exposure. As a result of these concerns, we are in the process of escalating this matter to the Legal Ombudsman.
Based on our experience, we are unable to recommend this firm. Clients should expect clear communication, timely progression, and effective management of their transaction, which were not consistently demonstrated in our case.
* A formal complaint has been submitted following the correct procedure

I don't normally write reviews but feel the need to share my experience, as we have been trying to sell a property for over a year now (shared ownership) and no sign of an exchange still. Communication is appalling and despite the file being overseen by the head of conveyancing, nothing has changed. No communication for weeks on end and now the chain is looking likely to collapse. A formal complaint has been lodged on this file but yet again, no response. Which leaves the client with no choice but to take to the ombudsman. We will be advising any client that wishes to use your company to avoid you with a very wide berth!
I am an estate agent acting for your client and this post is genuine. My facts are correct and the lack of contact continues!

The whole team were amazing. Rebecca, the director, spoke with me numerous times at length and helped me rethink a purchase I was about to make—one that would have seriously impacted me financially and affected my wellbeing. I’m incredibly grateful that she took the time for those long conversations, which ultimately steered me away from a terrible decision.
When Joanne Darwin was appointed to my case, she was nothing short of flawless. An absolute pleasure to deal with and to speak to throughout the entire process. She was so good that I recommended Wilford Smith and Joanne to my parents as their conveyancer as well.
I really cannot express just how good Wilford Smith, Rebecca, and Joanne have all been. A genuine 10/10 experience.

I've used several conveyancers over the years and this firm stands out. Efficient, commercially aware, and proactive. Ideal for investors who don't want hand-holding but need things done properly.

We sold and bought at the same time, which was stressful, but the team managed it well. There were a few delays outside their control, but communication was honest and consistent throughout.

Great Customer Services
We recently used Wilford Smith to assist with purchasing our first home .
From start to finish they guided us through each step, nothing was too much trouble and they went above & beyond even responding , out of office hours on occasions , to give us reassurances.
If your a first time buyer, great communication is key and we were kept updated and never felt like we had to chase .
We have no hesitation in recommending the team at Wilford Smith and will also be using them to make our wills.
Thank you Vicky, Jacqui , Lisa & Hannah for making it feel so easy !

I have used Wilford Smith now on a few occasions for several reasons business and personal matters. Everytime I reach out I am more impressed. I am never made to feel like I am "on the clock" as some solicitors do. They help, they advise and they're always true professionals. I genuinely couldn't recommend them any more if I tried.
From a business perspective my advice to everyone would be "if you're in a world of legal hurt then go and see Fitz in the dodgy shirt"!
