We would like to be using a fully recyclable option but we are a small business working on extremely tight margins and it is, unfortunately for us, a trade-off between limiting breakages in transit, which are significantly higher with the recyclable options currently on the market and can not be insured against or covering the increased cost of damages. And the latter would have a serious impact on the viability of our business. It isn't an excuse and we are seeking improvements to our packaging, more options are slowly becoming available as pressure grows on use of plastics so we really hope to move to a viable recyclable alternative within the next 12 months. Fast Delivery and Very Good Value
Ordered a "mystery case" online and it arrived in four days, which is very good under the current circumstances (I've been waiting for two weeks now for a Laithwaite's delivery). The wine was extremely well packaged and there are six very interesting wines to try. Great for me as I'm always looking for something different. And very good value as well.

The concept is good. Packaging was poor.
The concept of the recyclable bottle is good but the packaging is not right for postage. I specifically asked for the package to be wrapped safely and to prevent damage to the presentation cardboard box as this was to be a present.It came wrapped in a black plastic postage bag!!!, so the box was damaged by posting.
BUBBLE WRAP would have stopped the box being damaged. I now have no other alternative but to give this to my dad.
An outer layer to protect and disguise the box would have been advantageous.

Sincere apologies your experience was not ideal. We fully understand your concerns when giving one of these as a gift. We rely on Royal Mail for delivery of our products and expect items to be delivered in excellent condition, unfortunately they can let us down on occasion.
Letterbox wines are by definition a wholly recyclable product and one which has minimum impact on the environment, therefore we try to keep additional packaging to a minimum. The plastic outer bags are recyclable but adding bubble wrap would negate any efforts to make the product environmentally friendly. That said we will look at our processes as a result of your feedback and investigate an environmentally friendly option to do the job of bubble wrap for the future. On a personal note, we really do only want happy customers so if you are not happy please get in touch through the website and give us a chance to put things right.
