We moved homes and got rid of the printer - HP saw we didn’t use ink anymore but continued to charge and not send the ink. I tried to cancel the service but it’s proving impossible and charges still coming so had to raise a dispute via credit card company. Totally unacceptable and on the verge of fraudulent.

All was well for many years until I had to change my Visa debit card. Hp sent me a message saying payment couldn’t be taken. I tried to login to change my payment method several times. Each time I got sent around in circles. I tried on my PC, my IPad and my Mobile. Unsuccessfully. Hp emailed saying my account was suspended,
So contacted Hp support via their WhatsApp customer service. There followed a bizarre conversation between us, over several days eg at one point they told me the email I had supplied wasn’t linked to an account. So I sent them a screenshot shot of one of the emails they had sent me …at the address I used, At this point they admitted they were at fault. I sent them a screenshot of my account on their website saying I didn’t have a printer! I tried to set up a new subscription but again i was sent around in circles. And so it went on, and on, and on. I still couldn’t access my account and simply update my payment method. Support? Usless.
THEN yesterday Hp took over my printer inasmuch it refused to allow it to print because of this problem.
WHAT? I had ink in the printer already paid for.
Tried phoning but left hanging on the line for 15 minutes until I gave up.
So today I’m ditching my Hp printer and the nearly full inks and I’m off to buy an Epsom.
PS Hp said they would send me a survey to complete. Guess what? It never arrived. Wonder why?
My reply to HP's comment
No way am I going to waste more time trying to contact you again. And what's this about not thinking my complaint is genuine. How dare you.
You have my email.

Just bought the HP Office Jet Pro 8125e to replace my other HP printer which was very moody, and I am already out of ink having hardly printed anything. Good grief. I spent so much time, and IT money trying to get the old one fixed and this one installed, I don't have the time to replace this one but, please, HP, get your act together.
Now can't insert new cartridges into brand new printer. Can insert two but not third. Do I need to get another brand new brand new printer?

Do not use this company.
I signed up for HP Instant Ink and it worked fine at first. Then it quickly became a confusing, frustrating mess.
I was repeatedly sent emails saying ink was running low and “on its way” but I wasn’t actually receiving anything. Over time I realised I had been paying for a service that wasn’t delivering what it claimed.
When I raised this, I was spoken to in a dismissive way and told I didn’t understand the subscription or should read the terms and conditions. This felt completely unreasonable given I had been receiving official emails confirming ink shipments.
I paid for around 18 months but only received a partial refund offer of 3 months, which I refused as it didn’t reflect what had happened. They said from their end it didn’t look like the ink was running low (despite the multiple emails saying it was). I was astounded to be told to wet the ink end on the cartridge as this usually works. When I said this was ridiculous advice and that they should be sending the ink, I was told this was standard practice and most companies advise this. I was then offered “goodwill” ink cartridges only two out of the three offered actually arrived, they were in one parcel so it's obvious one didn't just get lost in the post.
After cancelling, I was then told I had to return “unused cartridges”, despite paying for the service for months and these cartridges were supposed to have been a gesture of goodwill. It made no sense.
On top of this, I was later forced to re-subscribe just to print a document, only to then receive an email saying “your paper has been delivered” a service I never signed up for and never received.
Customer support has been one of the worst parts of this experience. I was passed between bots, WhatsApp, and broken help pages, with no clear way to actually resolve anything. Even phone support details were impossible to find.
Eventually I managed to get both subscriptions cancelled, but I was still left with unexplained charges and no clear answer about missing deliveries or “paper” I never ordered.
Overall, this feels disorganised, misleading, and extremely difficult to resolve. I would not recommend HP Instant Ink. They need to be investigated!
Update: HP have commented on my review as you will see, I have spoken with support and I am not prepared to go through it again, it's been stressful, I stand by my review, cancelled my subscription and done the correct thing by warning others.

Liked the idea of receiving ink without the hassle of getting them yourself. They kept charging me subscription money every month and i didn’t receive no ink for the last 9 months. Such a rip off!!! Wasted money. I could have used that money and bought ink myself. Rubbish service. Don’t recommend anyone. How can you charge a customer monthly fee and not deliver ink? I don’t print as much as i estimated but if you don’t deliver the ink how can you charge every month? Absolutely ridiculous

They took control of my printer. If I use more pages than I'm subscribed for they do not allow printing from your own printer until you upgrade and pay more money. They keep sending me ink and paper when I do not need it. the extra ink and paper cannot be used if you do not have a current subscription. I canceled my subscription and have all this left over unopened boxes of wasted ink that they will not refund

It is a totaly simple no hassle process, just sign up and HP will do the rest.

Under no circumstances select "Instant Ink". Hugely complicated, and you will quickly find out that you no longer control your printer, HP controls. THEY will choose whether to allow you to print or not, depending on your clearing a series of hoops almost impossible to understand. When you opt out of Instant Ink, as I did, suddenly HP goes silent, you can't get an update, your printer is locked. I am taking my HP Envy and tossing it in the trash. Never again HP. I will be buying a Canon. Beware this is an example of a robot taking over your life.

Hi, I hope you’re well.
My printer is out of ink in colour before one month and I didn’t receive it . I received only black ink .
Please can you confirm when I will receive the colour ink .
Thank you .

I had been using HP Instant Ink for about three years and overall the subscription worked fine while I had it. However, the moment I decided to cancel, I ran into something that completely changed my view of the service.
After cancelling my subscription, I was told that the cartridge currently in my printer would stop working and could no longer be used because it was part of the Instant Ink program. The cartridge was still full, yet I was basically told to remove it and throw it away.
This makes absolutely no sense to me, especially considering how much HP talks about sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. Forcing customers to discard perfectly good, unused ink just because they stopped paying for a subscription is the opposite of environmentally responsible. It creates unnecessary waste and leaves a very bad impression.
After three years as a customer, it feels frustrating and unfair to be told that ink I already physically have cannot be used anymore. Customers should be able to finish the ink that is already in their printer instead of being forced to discard it.
Because of this policy, I cannot recommend HP Instant Ink. The idea behind the service may be convenient, but policies like this make it feel wasteful and customer-unfriendly.

The service is great until you need support with something that is not included in their peopleless help system. There is no way within their support site to escalate to "I need to talk to an actual human". My last adventure required 10+ hours and 2 rude people before I got an agent who simply fixed the problem. It took her 10 minutes. Currently, they keep sending me toner cartridges that are not Instant-Ink which causes the printer to stop printing. there is no way to report the problem.

I received 3 months free instant ink with my new printer after which I was tempted to subscribe. My advice is don't bother unless you are a heavy user. Over the past 10 months I have paid £44.90 and received no fresh ink. I could have bought the same genuine hp ink for £25 or less

The subscription is fine until you want to cancel, as happened to me. My printer stopped working, then I cancelled my subscription. However, I'm still being charged a few months later.

I have a contract with HPInstant Ink and had a problem with my HP printer so I contacted them for help. I was redirected to JustAnswer, I agreed a £1 fee for a 3 day free trial. Their Teckkies could not solve problem so I paid £2 within the 3 day period to ensure I was not enrolled in their club. A company called Disdettavelope took the £2. Since then both JustAnswer and Disdettavlope have both taken £39 each from my account. I am having great difficulty ensuring I dont get any more charges, My Credit Card Company are dealing with these unauthorised charges from 2 unscupulous companies who go out of their way to make it very difficult to contact them.

Ink arrives in good time.
I wanted to change my direct debit details etc but couldn't work out how to do it. Managed to change the plan but not the payment. HP seems very far away!!

Never personally had a problem with instant ink supplies.

HP Instant Ink, was a great move to cover my personal and business printing.
Not only do I never run out of ink, with HP Ink, communicating with my printer, to check on my ink levels, it has saved me a fortune, as was very expensive buying ink from the high street shops.
BIG Thank you to HP Ink
