Eight days post major water leak…

Eight days post major water leak affecting 2 levels of the house & we're still waiting for approval for the restoration company to begin cleanup. Intact is NOT "by your side" as they advertise. This is the worst customer service!

Obvious economic times have made things…

Obvious economic times have made things difficult for many Canadians. I have 3 pay pay auto policy with intact. In past I called in to my broker to make payments arrangements specifying 2 installments and a date to complete the first of the 3 pay plan and has never been an issue until NOW!

I called in to setup payment arrangements and was threatened that if this ever happens again in the future they will automatically switch my policy to monthly installments!

How’s that for customer service of a long time customer? That should win the customer over and make them feel better about things right? Wrong ! Bad news travels 10 times faster then good news and im telling everyone I can regarding intacts new customer service tactics from now on. Wherever and whenever I can. I will not stop at this and will reach out to government authority on their threat

Intact gave me a quote for insurance…

Intact gave me a quote for insurance for my new truck, I agreed to the quote and payed cash in full. Two weeks later I received a blackmail letter from them stating "If I did not pay another $2700 I would loose my insurance. They have no legal right to black mail. When they decided to increase my premium, that gave me the right to refuse and seek another insurance. Which I did and got an even better Quote from 2 other insurances. I choose to cancel Intact and demanded a refund, they tell me they will calculate at the new rate. I believe they have no legal right to do this. This is all because I had to redo my drivers license in 2022. Everyone forgets about COVID and being locked down. Is there no Justice in Ontario Canada.

I bought the top of the line policy

I bought the top of the line policy. I was hit by someone without insurance. I was not at fault. From the initial phone call in November of 2017 to now, I have had the worst experience. They deny every request for assistance. Doesn't matter what my doctor, physio, O.T., or any other professional says. 7 years later, I am still fighting with them and still in pain every minute of every day. Their assessments are a joke. "Arms out front, palms up, palms down, Great! you are fine". Has absolutely nothing to do with a concussion or neck injury. I would give them a zero if I could. A boycott on Intact would be a great idea!

Horrible!

Way back when it was Winram Insurance it was great. But Axis is horrible! I updated them with new info so that they could continue taking payments, but Axis/Intact keeps sending termination of policy letters. Also, Deborah Crema doesn't answer their voicemail. Avoid this hot mess if you can!

Maybe someone can share some insight…

Maybe someone can share some insight but if I clearly have water/ moisture enough not to be "condensation" as I'm told, between my walls causing damage to my interior wall and water stain should this not be reason enough for an insurance company cover my claim. This is just based on a visual observation which I am told my inspection is inconclusive and it's now my responsibilitie to have a deeper inspection done for intact to consider my claim. Why am I not getting a full proper inspection.
At the end of the day I have damage caused by moisture and I'm being told that my policy will not cover the repairs, what am I paying insurance for? Time to look for a new insurance provider??

Awful customer service

went to their website to look at the details of my policy. It said the website wasn't available. The receptionist told me to call my insurance broker, not them. When I insisted on talking to someone, she sent me back to a phone loop that led to ... her again. The underlying message I got was: go away.

Intact Unprofessionalism

My car got hit and was a write off (not at fault) They have a police where 2 days after they give you the offer to settle you have to return the rental car.
When I was given the offer to settle the accident I told them I'd talk to my wife and get back to them. So I called them back and didn't get an answer and left a message (Wednesday). Thursday came around and I left another message. Friday I left another message and at this point now the car is do back before 5, and without a response from them I can't do anything or move forward with a new car because I can't get ahold of them. So I would be without a car for the weekend and would have to forfeit my weekend plans (cottage) So I kept the rental till Monday, Called and left another message, no reply, so I then tried to switch adjusters, they tried calling my first one and couldn't contact her either. Finally on Tuesday I got a call back, and now I owe $124 for the rental. Even though my adjuster disappeared for four business days and couldn't let me move forward with a new car, they still won't cover the car rental, and not a single person even apologized for my adjuster going missing for four days leaving my in limbo.
Very unprofessional, let me know you'll be out of office, cover the $124 for screwing me over, even an apology would have been nice. But no, they just kept repeating "you only get two days with the rental after offer"

Been insured with these guys since 2008 and first time in 16 years we made a claim and they came up with the most pathetic excuse I have ever heard and won't deal with the claim and refused. I advise anyone and everyone to stay away from these crooks. Still fighting it and now will take legal action. If I could give zero stars I would. Please avoid these insurers at all costs

Unreasonable Request for Payment with no Policy

I have been a customer of Intact for over 10 years. I have never made any claim. The premium for 2024 jumped up from $1700 to $2142. I was unable to afford it. On expiry, I did not renew the insurance. There is no insurance policy and I did not agree to new coverage. But I received a request for a payment of over $300 supposedly for a coverage period. I was again warned the amount was legal and a collection agency will be informed if I do not pay up.
I am sure if I had made a claim during the supposedly cover period, I would have been ignored as there is no official policy.

Bad insurance policies

Watch out when choosing them for your insurance, they try to find any reason possible to not cover the damages even when other insurances involved are telling them that their calculations should not be done that way. You also need to read the contract very carefully, because they promote their policies with big coverages, but once a sinister happens they pull out a bunch of exclusions and constraints from the contract (hidden pages away from the policy values)

I purchased home insurance with Intact…

I purchased home insurance with Intact Insurance since June 2019. At the end of November 2023, my house was burglarized. I called the police and notified intact insurance company. Thieves broke the windows of my house and stole many things. I got a notice but didn't see the company come down to check the situation to replace the windows. They just asked me to change it myself (it was the end of November so the weather was cold). After replacing the window glass and replacing some broken items, I had to call the company again and ask how the situation was with my house. After nearly 3 months, they started working and asked me to send everything. information about what needs to be declared (although I have sent it once before). Afterwards, Mrs. Lyne Meloche made an appointment to come down to take a look and my Mother received her. The incident is that Mrs. Lyne Meloche is not friendly and seems very discriminatory because perhaps we are Vietnamese (I got the feeling when interacting with her). I'm a soldier in the Canadian army and I'm working in Vancouver but my home address is still in Montreal.
After making an appointment to come to my house to see the situation and then more than 3 months after the theft, she asked for an appointment with me and my mother for a further interview. I cooperated and asked for 4 days off to meet her. My mother and I interviewed in separate rooms. They interviewed my mother from 11am to 2pm. There are some very funny sentences. For example, why don't thieves knock on the door downstairs in your house, but instead they knock on the door upstairs in your house 😄? And countless questions unrelated to my house being stolen...
It's been more than 6 months since the incident happened and they still haven't resolved it.
At the end of June, my contract with Intact insurance company expires and I will change to another company. Honestly, I am very frustrated with the way Ms. Lyne Meloche works. If Intact still lets her continue, I think they will lose a lot of customers.

Consider yourself warned…

Stay away from Intact and save yourself the unbelievable frustration you can ever imagine. They will do and say anything to scam you, wear you out and hope you give up and go away. Integrity - honest, fair, decent is something they do not encompass. I have been lied to, ignored, and treated poorly. They insisted I use their services for repairs, which happens to be a company under the same umbrella, Onside and Intact, unethical much! Did not know this until I was suspiciously being pressured to use their people and did a little research. They hired people to repair damages, did a horrible job, left a mess, and ignored the fact that drywall was wet and should have been replaced. I am now dealing with mold. So, what they did was replace a floor that was really nothing special. It was not something I would pick, but the options they offered were very limited and I was anxious to get my bedroom back and my stuff out of storage. They also replaced quarter rounds in two rooms, approx. 600 sq. ft. Let me be clear, nothing more was done, N O T H I N G! This took almost 3 months start to finish with initial packing and storing of property. The invoice charged for those repairs was a little over $8000. I previously renovated the same space a year prior to this incident and did a better job for a third of the money. I know I have a long fight ahead with them and once resolved I will be shopping for a better insurance company, which won’t be hard to find. I have heard nothing but negative comments about Intact. I should probably speak to a lawyer. Consider yourself warned.
