Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 39 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers appreciate the innovative concept of the dental wand, finding it a useful tool for their cats' dental hygiene. Several people reported that their cats love playing with the product and readily chew on it, making teeth cleaning much easier than traditional methods. The product's design is also praised, with some noting its sturdiness and the thoughtful packaging. However, some people were dissatisfied with the product's effectiveness, as their cats showed little to no interest in chewing the wand or found it too hard. A few reviewers also mentioned issues with the material being too rigid, especially the spikes, and difficulties with the toothpaste dispenser. There were also occasional reports of missing parts upon arrival or the product not being a complete replacement for manual brushing.

Fast service but my cats not bothered

Fast service. However my cat is not at all interested. It was too spiky for her, she pawed it first, cut through the line before sniffing the toothbrush and now just looks and walks away from it.

Thanks for your feedback! We do offer a money back guarantee for cases were it doesn't work out with your cat - just email meow@inventorcat.co.uk and we can help you get that sorted.

We'd of course encourage you to try a few things, sometimes with older cat's it may take a bit of time to incorporate this into her routine. Here's some tips if you'd like to try it.

(check out the manual for further reference: inventorcat.co.uk/manual)

In "Part 1" when using the Dental Wand, using a treat like Lic-e-lix can help the introduction of the toothpaste. We'd recommend just filling the Dental Wand with the treat first and then start to gradually introduce more and more toothpaste each time.

Also when you hold onto the Dental Wand, point the tip of it towards the cat's mouth. This replicates how cat's would digest prey in the wild. Try to avoid squeezing the contents for them, we see cats begin to lick it and then bite it to get more of the contents inside. This will create positive associations with the Dental Wand which will then be reinforced and boosted during Part 2 - the interactive play.

Once your cat starts biting it you only need 1-2 bites to expel the toothpaste inside, after a couple of bites pull it away from the mouth. The pulling away will make the bristles bend and snap, disrupting the build up of plaque.

We are introducing something new into your cat's routine, sometimes this may take a bit longer than others. However, your cat is making positive associations with the Dental Wand, following the above we see some cats take to it immediately and others will build the trust and confidence and then bite it.

Finally, some people find that using their cat's favourite toy to get them going and then switching to the Dental Wand helps their cat begin to bite the Dental Wand.

We hope this is useful and either way want to help as much as we can.

A great idea.

Thank you for introducing such an amazing idea to us cat parents!
I wish I could say it works, and my cats love it - but to date, they will not chew it!
I will persevere!!

Good idea but.

Good idea but.

Only one of my cats showed any interest in the yellow tooth cleaning brush and only when it was not attached to the wand. If attached to the wand she repeatedly tried to bite through the cord and very nearly did. I shall keep trying with the brush not attached but it is quite expensive on reflection as the wand etc is redundant. Good idea but not that good in reality.

Great product - cat loves it!

Great product and arrived within a couple of days! We ordered this after seeing on dragons den and just bought the attachment and not the wand as we just attached it onto an existing wand/string we had.

I think this product is perfect as long as your cat likes the smell of the toothpaste. Excellent idea to make teeth brushing a more enjoyable experience for your cat. One of our cats absolutely loves it and will bite it constantly even if you just hold the attachment in your hand and even with no lick-e-Lix on the outside. She even pulls it off us and runs away with it! (the other cat has zero interest in it, & is a bit wary, even with lick-e-Lix on it, but he doesn’t like the toothpaste and is a fussy boy so we were expecting that). I was expecting it to be messy, but the holes on the product are quite small so toothpaste doesn’t go everywhere in the house which is great.

Cleaning was initially a little fiddly as the entry hole is small. However it is now easy as we found using a simple cleaning brush for straws works really well! My only issue is that the hole for putting toothpaste in is quite small so difficult/bit fiddly

Overall would recommend!

Doesn't work

Bought the teeth cleaning toy after watching Dragon's Den. Despite every effort, my cat couldn't be less interested in it - and even when she is, she doesn't want to chew it. I would not have wasted my money on this product if I had known. Up to you - but I'd suggest don't bother. Tried multiple ways but she just won't chew the allegedly useful part.

Fun, innovative product, loved by Mango!

Great customer service and very prompt delivery.

We've had this about a month now.

My 10month old kitten LOVES this toothbrush. We have a daily play and brush, sometimes with the rod, sometimes not, as he adores toys on strings, so we can mix it up which is great.

It is user friendly, easy to use and clean, and ultimately doesn't feel like going into the lions cage when trying to implement some basic dental hygiene to our fur baby.

The products are well made, cone in a well made, sturdy box to keep your cat toothbrush safe and tidy.

Highly recommend (as does Mango!).

Great Toy

The starter kit arrived quickly, immediately my cat started rolling around on top the box! It took a while for my cat to start biting the Dental Wand but he is normally like this with new things and when speaking with the team they explained that with some cats it might take longer than others. The manual on their website was very helpful and using lic-e-lix helped a lot he now loves it, it's his favourite toy :)

I had an issue with Royal Mail when it came to delivering the dental wand.
I emailed about not receiving the package and got an email back not long after,
Victor fixed the issue right away no questions asked.
He was super helpful, the customer service is amazing!!

Very poor quality - broke with first use

I am very disappointed with the quality of this product. The chasing attachment instantly shed lots of synthetic fibers everywhere, from the first use it was already falling apart. And after a couple of days I finally managed to get my cat to bite the dental attachment with the treat inside and it has broken. I would expect it to be able to withstand some biting since this is the aim of the attachment.

This is a very poor quality product and dangerous as cats could choke on the small pieces of the broken dental attachment and I'm sure swallowing synthetic fibers is not great for them either.

Easy and effective

I was originally considering buying dental solution but I was wary of putting my cats off their drinking water, so I was pleased to find this product. I use the toothpaste recommended by my vet which is Virbac Enzymatic Toothpaste Poultry for dogs and cats. They loved the catnip and toy that came with the dental wand (a bit too much to be honest- the toy has lost all his fluff but given it has a bell I only let them play with it under supervision in any case). Once I introduced the toothbrush alone it held their full attention and they both happily use it on a daily basis. One cat definitely has the chewing down more than the other but it's early days still.

Cat tooth cleaner experience so far

The tooth cleaner was fun to use and my cats liked playing with it. I like the fact that you can add lick e lix to one end or cat mint and toothpaste to the other. I need more time to get used to it, but it might be easier to use for older cats by getting them to lick it. the suppleness of the cleaner is good, no hard edges. however the green play tail has broken up a bit with the cat play. i like the fact that the play rod is like a fishing rod and can expand or decrease in length.
