Wide variety of funds to choose from and great returns despite market volatility
I have been impressed with the wide variety of funds on the Santander Investment Hub, as I like to pick my own investments. The funds I have chosen are mixed but they have all performed well, despite market turmoil due to oil and a few have done outstandingly well. Also has the added benefit of being a trusted bank, that I can see alongside my bank account and other savings accounts I hold there
I don't know we're to start
I don't know we're to start. You need to send a pigeon with buy orders. If you invest 1000 they keep 999 as fees. Stay away!
Not user friendly
Not user friendly, even customer support agreed with me.
After more than 5 years
After more than 5 years, my large investment accrued nothing while Santander took their fees and charges. If I had invested in a regular current account in another bank where I could have easy access to my money, I would have been MUCH better of.
Where Santander invested my money was never revealed, but their so called investment team was pitiful in their abilities. I would suggest to anybody thinking of using their investment hub to steer clear.
Santander insist you contact them by phone as they have no advisors in their branches.
Possibly the worse interface ever…
Possibly the worse interface ever written . Dreadful menus, ridiculously complex to try and invest into a fund , even harder to sell up and then get your money back . Customer advisor was patronising , rude and read from a script .
Never , ever will I use this again . Barclays is miles easier and at least it works which is more then can be said about this utter pile of rubbish
Glad I looked at these reviews
So glad I looked at these reviews as I was so tempted to invest in the Hub. The advert on the banking website plus the accompanying video made it look very tempting. Thanks to everyone here who took the time to leave a review. You have all saved me money.
Awful to use interface
Awful to use interface, difficult to navigate, utterly annoying
RRRRRRUBISH Investments
like everyone else on here my experience with the investment hub is rrrrrubish!!, and i was charged over 500£ for the "financial advice" and from day one ive lost money its been in 3 years and am still down 2.5k on investment, i phoned them and they advised to keep it in for 5 years and nothing about perhaps moving my money to better investments!....DO NOT USE
Three years of poor investment
We had a large amount invested with Santander investment hub. It made next to nothing in three years while our alternative banking was realizing 5% on other savings.
No review advice was offered and the only way to consider the investment was to make an appointment with a representative of Santander. Worse still was a fee to instigate and set up the joint investment and then a yearly admin fee on top. It was pants. Additionally the interface is difficult to navigate and extracting funds was a lengthy and apprehensive process. I would not recommend Santander investments, Our money would have been better off in the Edge account but Santander made no effort to offer that suggestion to us.
Seriously rubbish interface
Seriously rubbish interface, really hard to transfer money and invest
Uncontactable, unresponsive, untrustworthy clowns
Have asked them to fully close my Stocks and Shares ISA twice now with no action taken.
Last request was formal complaint which was never even acknowledged.
Now going to start FOS formal complaint process.
I would never ever have any dealings with this part of Santander again, which even the main Santander group treats like a totally independent third party company. It's almost as if they've never heard of them and who would blame them?
Avoid ,I have had money invested over 4…
Avoid ,I have had money invested over 4 years and an still down 8 % could have been far better of in savings account badly managed investment
Santander investments
Myself & my wife were investment virgins but we trusted their advise and signed up 6 years ago for the defined return plan(issue 6) and the Max 50% shares portfolio SA fund, after 6 years we would have been better off keeping our money in the Santander 123 account. Anybody else experienced the same bad performance
My local branch don't have a clue…
My local branch don't have a clue what the investment hub is or are not able to explain anything about it LOL
What a joke!
Cascade of errors!
What a cascade of errors!
Whoever wrote the code behind the interface was a lazy so-and-so. It causes real or apparent false accounting (one transaction was just deleted (Santander confirmed they did that), and one was made up (Santander didn't confirm they did that)). It is difficult to find information on anything....it requires the user to find work-arounds to find buttons that link to where you want to go. Perhaps this is why false transactions can occur. The information presented on the website conflicts with the information I got when speaking to human support. I am now trying to get back all the money I have put into the hub. I have no confidence in it.
Support was a pretty crap experience too; the usual "comedy of errors" you get with online chat and automated voice responses....you probably know what I mean. Speaking to a real human was ok, but by then I had mostly lost my patience.
Even the pre-sales is poor
Opened an account, then tried to find out what fund costs would be. A genuinely surreal trip around the internet followed, then a 20-minute wait on a phone line (especially weird for a new business call), then an adviser who was rushed and gave some fairly un-reassuring answers about what would happen to funds transferred from another provider. I still don't know if Santander is cheaper, but then again I haven't got the heart to find out.
Over 2 weeks to execute buy transactions.
I opened and Ivest Hub account on the 2d of January, transferred money and put an order to purchase some shares. 2 weeks later (today is the 14th of January) and several telephone calls later all transactions are still "pending" and nobody can tell me what is happening.
On top of that there's a complicated procedure to move your money back to your bank account.
AVOID INVES HUB. There are plenty of better and cheaper trading platforms.
After depositing money
After depositing money , withdrawal is impossible to have , and I asked for returning my funds , they never respond , they are just asking for deposits but never get back any profits, there website hangs and there support never respond on emails , I really want help how to get back my funds !!!
Dreadful service - online dashboard hopeless
Dreadful service. I set up (at some expense) a hub account and in the two months since then i have not been able to access it online. Every attempt leads to a "technical error" and "contact our staff if it continues". At each such contact i am told that the hub is "locked" for reasons unknown and "someone will contact you in a couple of days". Still no contact. In addition i manage the Hub of my poorly brother. IN that case you can not manage a hub online if you are a Power of Attorney for the owner (but they still make you listen to a 5 minute telephone message explaining how you can). You have to write letters requesting transfers - which take more than a week to be responded to. If you phone their help line - well i have been waiting for over 30 minutes at the time of writing this. I feel sorry for the frontline telephone staff - they have no power to solve anything. They just pass it to another department - who you cant communicate with yourself. And then its lost
