It takes some time for one to like it and then cannot let go

I didn’t have the “wow” feeling when I first put them on, my first thought was “not bad, but just not there... probably need some run-in” (which it did improve after 2hrs of continuous playing) but then I’ve literally forgotten it’s presence (well I’m supposed to be working in office lol) and it was almost an hour after I realised it by the pain from the side of my ears. Not saying it’s uncomfortable, it’s already the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used so far. I tried to use it as handsfree on my iPhone and the quality was top notch.

The IRIS function is definitely a game changer especially when listening to live music, you can "feel the atmosphere" and I'm not joking, try "jazz at the pawnshop" and you'll know what I mean.

My verdict: it’s a pair of well built headphones in terms of sound quality and style, I think they’re at least in par with apple’s headphones recently (I tried it in apple store couple times), but probably need more time to run-in and they can be picky on the quality of the sound source.

Stunning Sound from a New Company: IRIS

I bought a set of the black IRIS Flow Headphones from their Indiegogo campaign, and I'm quite pleased with them. I've collected about a dozen pair of headphones over the years, and they stand up to any of them, including ones that retail for much, much more.

The build quality is excellent. These feel very solid, and do a nice job of insulating the sound from the outside world. No automatic noise cancelling necessary; they do as well in shutting out the outside as my Jabra 85H bluetooth ANC headphones do with the noise cancelling turned on.

I do wish the arms were a bit longer--even just half an inch, because I have a gigantic head. Similarly, I have large ears and the ear cups could be bigger. IRIS says that they will make larger ear cups available, though, so that is something I'm looking forward to.

Even without the Flow algorithm turned on, these are excellent headphones. Sound is clean and crisp, with good bass extension. Not powered up, they are quite neutral and satisfying. They do not have to be turned on at all in order to function.

But the real draw is of course the Flow algorithm, which is built into the headphones. The phone app is optional, though it is handy for pairing them and necessary for updating the firmware in the headphones. I understand the Android version has had several updates already, though I'm not aware of any on the Apple side.

The effect of the algorithm is quite stunning in my book. I mostly listen to classical music, and it does a splendid job overall in giving depth and liveliness to the sound of the music. It's particularly pronounced with larger ensembles (orchestras, choirs). But it also makes rock/pop music spring to life. Older music benefits greatly (the Beatles in particular).

Pairing is pretty straightforward. There is a manual hidden in the app, which is another reason to use the app. I've had some issues with static when bluetooth is connecting to a transmitter hooked to my TV, which I'm currently working through with IRIS support.

I'm not wild about the button design, especially the volume and forward/back which are too flat and indistinguishable to be useable, but the basic on/off is easy to find and operate while wearing. I understand IRIS agrees with this and is working on improving the ability to distinguish the buttons by touch.

I really love the sound of the IRIS headphones, especially through my tube amp. They are definitely worth the price, and I have been using them daily for several hours for the last eight weeks since I received them.

Best Bluetooth headphone on the market today! 2021

I have fallen in love with music again!
I did not buy this for the algorithm but the algorithm is really good.
I bought this for the build quality.
They is no black cheap plastic on them.
I actually like it when, I take them in my hands and I feel how cold they are because of the aluminum on the harms.
I have not stop using them, I used them for about 5 hours a day, or maybe more someday’s.
1) sounds quality 10/10
2) iris flow features 09/10
3) noise isolation 10/10

Iris headphone it's a keeper

As a great fan of music I know It comes in many diverend formats besides the streaming formats that I've listened from Tidal or Spotify I also listened to VINYL,CD, DVD or SACD.
In short the IRIS headphone can cope with them all and I couldn't hear a difference with wire or wireless with a senheiser Bluetooth transmitter.

The first thing I noticed is the sound which is fuller and richer with Iris on. Its like a curtain which has been removed to give the music a chance to open up. Yes there is more detail then I have heard before. It doesn't matter whatever format I listen to. The outcome stays the same. The difference in quality of the music is only limited by the source.
Mp3 is not the same as Flac or SACD that difference is noticeable but still with Iris it is better. Thanks to the build in high grade DAC and Amp doing Aptx HD and Aptx low latency aswell. That was where I was hoping for and it is wat I got with my Iris headphone.

Thanks IRIS team you did a great job

Something you need to try out in this life

The build of the IRIS headphones is very good. They are over ears and while the cups are small they are big enough to fit my ears in comfortable. The pads are just perfect. Very smooth, creating good seal (important for deep bass notes and noise canceling) and still not making you sweat. I use my IRIS around 2 - 3 hours a day so the feel of the pads is very important. Believe it or not, I owned three pair of very expensive Stax headphones (4040, 4070 and Omega II) and I was sweating the whole time.
If you are looking for a good noise-cancellation you are at the right place. The IRIS do that without the need of artificial counter wave DSP technology. Did you realize that car noise and voices continue to be very audible with normal noise canceling headphones? I guess it is legally required to make sure you do not run under a bus or you can hear someone shouting at you. Now on the opposite side of the spectrum would be inEars with a great seal and death silence around you. The IRIS are just in the middle. You have a broad spectrum of noise cancelation also for voices and car noises (better than my different noise-cancelation headphones) but you are not completely isolated like with inEars - which is far too much for my taste.
Although the IRIS provide a headphone cable the usual way would be to use them via Bluetooth. They easily connect to two devices and switching between them is seamlessly. The Bluetooth range is fair but my Apple AirPods Pro are just better (one day I went down from the 3rd floor to 1st floor and just forgot my mobile in the 3rd floor. The Apples still worked without any hiccups. I was very surprised when I suddenly received a call and tried to find my mobile.)
Sound quality of the headphones used without Bluetooth and IRIS phones switched off - via the headphone jack - shows a very neutral and transparent signature. Which is good since this is a stable base to do the IRIS magic on top of it.
But using the IRIS without the build in DAC, Amp and DSP would be just like driving a BMW with 100 km/h on a German autobahn. You can do it, but this is not why you buy a BMW.
Buying the IRIS you not only get a great set of Bluetooth headphones, but with the IRIS technology is just making the sound so more natural and coherent. Digging into what the technology does mathematically is beyond my math abilities and while I read the original patents, I have to admit I rather enjoy them instead of understanding them.
Some people have criticized that with IRIS on the headphones become a bit louder and as everybody knows, you always prefer louder. And yes they become louder but not because IRIS wants to cheat on you but because of the nature of the algorithm.
I can assure you that I have tested the IRIS with the IRIS technology on and off and always decreased the volume when I switched IRIS technology on. The IRIS Flow technology is still doing the magic. So the IRIS technology is real and not a loudness trick.
With IRIS on you will enjoy your music or even audiobooks so much more. IRIS just brings the magic of a live performance in front of you into your headphones.
Just as a point of reference for my review, I own a fair amount of headphones between 400 to 2000 EUR and headphone amplifiers from 800 to 4000 EUR, and if forced would give them all up to save my IRIS headphones. And that even includes the Smyth Realiser A16 which measures via little inEar microphones your personal HRTF and let you hear every set of loudspeakers you have measured with them.
And with the committed IRIS team in the back you get a product which will get better over time via their firmware options, given you more control over your IRIS. Don’t wait, get a pair.

Best on the Market

These are undoubtedly the best headphones on the market. I was curious as to how they could be better than other well known brands but to my amazement was blown away. I had doubts about no ANC but I am now very satisfied that whilst they don’t have it, they don’t need it as they suppress any ambient sound whilst still maintaining the incredible audio quality.

I am able to hear my music in a different way, watch movies with more sounds than I had noticed before and can wear them for hours due to the long battery life and the comfort of the headphones.

I had doubts but no longer. I couldn’t recommend a better pair of headphones and I have owned Sennheiser, Bose, Sony, B&W in the past and none are close to the Iris headphones.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I've fallen in love with music again

I am not a technically minded person, I know however what I like the look and experience of and I can honestly say I've fallen in love with music again, these headphones are just stunning in every sense. The build quality is exceptional, they are tactile and feel amazing with a perfect weight to them. The way that I am hearing music has changed, I feel I am part of the music, writer and musicians and can hear differentiation and levels within the delivery of the various genres. I would highly recommend the IRIS headphones as an investment, they are money very well spent in my opinion. Thank you IRIS for bringing music back to my heart.

Soundtastic! Immersive and premium Sound quality, one of the best.

1. Sound quality - Just amazing. All notes were crystal clear and vocals were crisp too. I could listen to even the faint background vocals and notes so clearly while watching a movie.

2. Latency - Full marks for achieving excellent AV sync. The Low Latency codec worked fantastic. I have a Oneplus android TV and was amazed to listen through IRIS headphones. Tried other bluetooth headphones/ earphones/ Airpods Pro before but they had some AV lag.

3. IRIS Flow feature - This was the main reason I bought IRIS and it works like a miracle.

4. Delivery - Delivery speed was good and trackable. I had to submit my KYC document to FEDEX online and rest was managed well. Thank you for managing the shipping and customs clearance as promised.

5. Noise isolation - Excellent isolation and immersive listening experience. I felt no need for the ANC which might suppress the sound quality.

6. Comfort - The headphones are very comfortable enough for long wear.

7. Finish - Premium feel and finish. Excellent packaging.

Thank you IRIS team for bringing this amazing product to life and delivering to us as promised!

Absolutely love using the IRIS App

Absolutely love using the IRIS App. I listen to music all the time, especially now while I work from home. Being able to listen to music that I love with a lot more clarity and knowing that it is stimulating my brain at the same time, has made me more motivated and focused while I block out all the distractions of the outside world and focus on the task at hand. Thanks IRIS!

Revolutionary

Revolutionary way to consume audio. Having been able to test the headphones they are both incredibly comfortable and the sound quality is best in class. The sound isolation far outweighs any ANC as you get true quality and total immersion without any outside sound leaking in. Looking forward to receiving mine and very excited to see what lies ahead for IRIS.

Bossing the Bose

Everything from the sound, to the feel to the look makes me far happier with these than with the Bose I have lived with for the last two years. The added updates as they improve the software/technology makes it very appealing. Above all you don’t need noise canceing so you don’t feel like you’ve had your head squashed for the duration of your wearing them.

totally new way of listening to my music!

I'm listening to old albums and completely rediscovering them! Absolutely phenomenal what they've managed to do with this. Works the best with live music or with instruments that have been heavily compressed in production, you'll hear them in a whole new light! Highly recommend listening to "Broken Wings" by Alter Bridge with it on
