Just ordered our second Islabike!
Just ordered our second Islabike. Arrived super quick. The first bike gets heavy usage but has held up well and now goes to the youngest. Good brand and good logisitics....We did consider other brands but they can't sort out their supply chain so didn't go too far. Sticking with Islabikes!

BEST KIDS-BIKES
Unfortunately, actually no delivery to Germany, but the team of ISLABIKES was creating a solution and we could order a gravel-kids-bike. We love the bike and our son does it too. The design and the lightweight: it convinces us! Thank you very much indeed. ISLABIKES = The GREATEST KIDS-BIKES we know.

Only 2 stars i'm afraid. The bikes are excellent, lightweight and good quality BUT - overpriced in my opinion. With a new Beinn 20 costing over £500 with a pair of mudguards you're better off with a used bike. The new children's bikes don't come with pain touch up sticks like some other niche manufacturers do. Accessories for previous generation bikes are not available to purchase. In fact, the best way of buying a children's Islabike is purchase one in excellent condition from Ebay or Marketplace, keep it in excellent order for the couple of years that the child has it and then sell it again for pretty much what you paid for it.

Highly delighted
Needed a small framed lightweight ebike for my wife as, following surgery, she was unable to handle her existing cycle. Staff at Islabikes were all very helpful and friendly. We were unable to visit them so ordered over the phone. Bicycle arrived in 2 days!! Particularly like the packaging tape which tore off easily rather than the usual fight with packaging tape. We are delighted with the build quality, looks and performance. The only very slight niggle is that plugging in the charger is a bit difficult for those of us with less than nimble fingers. Helped by putting some white paint on plug and socket to make lining it up easier. Very pleased - many thanks

speedy and helpful service from the company
We booked a try out session of two ejanis bikes. The lady from Isla Bikes was helpful and friendly. You can cycle a shortish distance to include a small hill/slope. Initially you try the bike without the electrics and then with.
We ordered two and they have arrived within less than a week. We built them yesterday and had our first ride today. Very pleased with the purchase.
The ejanis offers just what we were looking for - a lightweight frame, step thru design and clean design. We opted for the prop stands but will be sourcing our own pannier rack.
The bike was well boxed and building the bike was OK, although we did find it better with two people, The bike comes with mudguards, a charger, bell, and spare inner tube together with the necessary tools to build.

Great service, great bikes!
We received fantastic service and attention at islabikes. Jamie and Abby gave us lots of information and answered all our questions. We were able to 'test drive' the bikes including an ebike and didn't ever feel that we were being rushed or pushed into a sale.
The bikes themselves are excellent and I love the fact that the Janis has been designed for the older cyclist who is beginning to find cycling just that bit more difficult. The Janis is light and elegant and beautiful to ride. The brakes are responsive and the grip shift is easy to use. We also tried the eJanis which is superb and a dream to ride. You can tell that these bikes are carefully designed and built for a particular type of cyclist.
I had always known that Islabikes made excellent children's bikes but didn't know that they also produced bikes for adults that are equally as good.
Visiting Islabikes was a different experience to visiting most cycling outlets which often seem very sleek and commercial. We really felt there was a passion for producing a good, affordable bicycle that is strong and reliable and a joy to ride.

Thanks Islas for a great experience…
Thanks Islas for a great experience when we came to test ride your e-Janis and e-Jimmy bikes on 18 October. Jamie made us very welcome and took us through the qualities and benefits of these handsome machines with great good humour, care and encouragement, one of nature’s gentlemen. The parkland setting is ideal for test rides and we enjoyed taking the bikes through their paces.
We’re still mulling over which bike or bikes to commit to, but as veteran Isla-istas (through all the children’s models) our faith in the Isla brand was only magnified by this positive experience.
Incidentally we came down for the week expressly to visit the Isla works and found Ludlow to be a very special town. All in all we were very glad we came.

Cant be bothered to provide touch up paint
Asked customer service for touch up paint. They come up with a raft of implausible excuses.
Frog sell it and will ship it to you via courier.
I appreciate it cannot be sent via Royal mail post but of course it can be sent by courier just look at Amazon for an example. Surely all Islabike spare parts are not sent through the post.
This is Islabikes dismissive reply, saying it is against regulations to even sell paint!
I wont get a good finish anyway!
They don't have such a thing as a colour chart!
'Due to the strict regulations governing the sale of substances we don't have touch up paint available. It may be possible to find a colour match that's close from a car accessory shop or a model shop - there isn't an official colour reference number we can quote as our colours are not chosen from a UK recognised colour chart, so you'd need to take the bike with you.
To achieve the paint finish on an Islabike, a number of colour layers are used, including a lacquer. Therefore, it will not be possible to achieve a perfect match with the colour of your bike.
I'm sorry we cannot be of more help.
They make great bikes but it is inexcusable not to sell touch up paint for a childs cycle.

Brilliant service from Jamie at Islabikes
I visited Islabikes by appointment on Tuesday, 10 August with my wife to try out an e-janis bike for myself. Jamie was very helpful and we spent over an hour and a half with him as I tried the bike and he answered my questions. We were very impressed with the quality of the bike its lightness and Jaimie's knowledge. We placed an order then and there and spent some time with Jamie as we worked out what accessories we need. The e-janis now comes with pedals, a bell and reflectors included. Andrew B

Test of E-Janis Islabike
My wife and I visited Islabikes to try an E-Janis bike for her. My sister came along as well and an extra bike was produced for her to try. Jamie was extremely helpful and spent over an hour with us ensuring the bikes were adjusted for exact fit, answering all our queries thoroughly and allowing ample time for road testing. We were very impressed with both his help and with the quality of the bikes, which are just what we were looking for. We will almost certainly be placing an order shortly.
Amazed and delighted . . .
We were amazed and delighted at the response of all the team at Islabikes. Phoned on a Thursday, drove across the country for a test ride on the Friday, ordered by phone on the following Monday, explaining that we hoped to have it quickly for a short holiday, despite their 5-day quoted delivery time, and received the bike on the Tuesday. Stunning cooperation! Thank you.

Great product and super customer service
We recently had a great experience with Islabike. Unfortunately I acted a little too early and ordered a bike for our daughter’s birthday, in my hast I didn’t take into account the regular growth spurts and realised 3 days before her birthday that the bike would be on the small side. A phone call to Islabikes provided a swift solution, not only did the very helpful Mandy answer the phone promptly, she patiently listened to my dilemma and made sure that our daughter would have the correct size bike on her birthday. So thanks to Mandy and Islabike for providing a great service while many are cutting back on everything and still blaming a virus that’s been with us for 18months.
The bike is also a top quality product, easily ‘assembled’ in less than 5 minutes with the tools provided.

Great bikes carefully speced!
Great bikes with really carefully specced components. My two kids have had a few now all all have been great. Could not recommend more highly.

I purchased an e-Jimi a few weeks ago
I purchased an e-Jimi a few weeks ago. It is a fabulous bike to ride. Light enough to be an ordinary bike, but has the power assist for when required. The service from Isla bikes throughout the whole process from trial to delivery was excellent.
Very helpful customer service, excellent bikes
Very helpful customer service - well above my expectations, they helped me diagnose the problem with the gears, not just by email but also phoned me up. I've been buying childrens bikes for over 15 years, and although these are at the top of the price range, you certainly get what you pay for. Being a little bit lighter makes it that much easier to ride and enjoy. These are the best bikes if you want your kids to have the most accessible cycling experiences.

Excellent test ride with Jamie at Islabikes
Excellent test ride with Jamie at Isla bikes. Tried e Jimi and e Janis. Both my husband and I enjoyed the experience. Jamie was knowledgeable and helpful.
We’d both recommend a visit to the Islabikes site in Ludlow.
We are eagerly awaiting our new bikes

Interesting business model
Having read a glowing review on Bike Radar which said they would assist customers who rang with shipping to Australia, I rang to order a bike, only to find out they are unwilling to ship outside the UK and Europe. Would have thought in this day and age shipping wasn't (or shouldn't be) an issue. It certainly is not for any of the other things I order from the UK. Interesting business model...

Dangerous bike
The front wheel came loose and almost detached on my daughter's Islabike while she was riding. The nut holding it in place comes loose rather easily. It is a design flaw as Islabike wanted to make a removable wheel, but instead they've created a point of failure that could have resulted in major injury.
I'm not sure what to do, now I'm stuck with an unsafe bike. Is there an authority in the UK I can report to start a process to prevent Islabike from continuing to sell safety flawed bikes? Bikes like this should be recalled.
