Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Extremely difficult to get hold of anyone. Refused my refund even after the seller agreed. Ridiculous way to run a business. Would never ever recommend to anyone. Will never ever use this site again.

Return policy and return policy is horrific

I purchased an item that I didn’t realize was defected 5 days after I purchased it. Tried to return it and Mercari said I had only 3 days to return it and thanked me in a bs email. Never ever again will I purchase anything from this site again.
Lastly I contacted the seller and he basically said screw you. Mdonaldson8. You buy from this person good luck.

This is my second review on mercari finally received a refund from mercari (sweet style o mine)stay away from makari and stay away from the seller the seller never even responded after they told me they shipped the item a week ago and gave me a tracking number the item never left? Ignored any of my messages finally macari told me they would investigate I contacted PayPal I would never buy an item from this site again sellers are very unprofessional or mercari would not even let me leave them a review so I cannot protect other Buyers?

Never received item and they won't help me contact seller

I purchased something on Mercari for the first time recently. It WILL BE the last time. As a busy mom of a big family, I purchased my item and waited for it to arrive. Time got away from me and two weeks later I realized that I had not received the item. I went into the website and found that it supposedly had been delivered 10 days earlier. Since it had been more than 3 days after delivery, the transaction had been closed and they will not given me the contact info of the seller. I have no way to contact the seller to ask them to request a refund through Fed Ex for a lost package. Fed Ex won’t talk to me since I am not the shipper. Mercari won’t give me any information, so now I am filling a claim for a refund with PayPal. $45 and lots of time down the drain!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, STEALS YOUR MONEY

I have never been so livid about a company’s customer service in my life. I was selling an item, and the transaction got cancelled, while the item was still being delivered. I was told I didn’t follow all the shipping procedures, but I very much did follow all the procedures and I provided evidence. The shipping label was fulfilled by Mercari also, so apparently there should be support behind it. They released partial funds to me, while they didn’t reimburse me for the shipping and took out a selling fee for themselves. I no longer have the item or the full funds of it. There was no reason for the item to be cancelled, and they never gave me a proper explanation as to why it was cancelled. Very disappointed in this platform for taking my money.

Warning Do Not Sell on This App

I would give zero stars if possible. I am going back to ebay. I made my first sale and my profit after fees was 5.40. I did not get my money automatically right after purchase. Mercari held the funds. I had to wait until item was received, buyer rated me and finally I was told I had to rate buyer. I did jump through the hoops only to find out I had to pay a 2.00 fee to get my money since it is less than 10.00. That is ridiculous! They already made 10 percent off my sale. To top it all off I tried to call them and was told to call M-F pacific standard time. I called and got a recording, no live person. They have poor customer service. I do NOT recommend you sell with them. I am going back to Marketplace and EBay. I hope Mercari goes out of business.

Very bad customer service!

I had made two purchases or so i thought,just to wake up this morning to see my account closed and items returned .....wtFudgeeee! I had emailed and got two emails about they cant find the order number and and this is a billing and payment issue. I called and got two people who said they'll forward my complaints...reallyyyyyyyy! So now here's my review why I wait for help... ohh yeah they end with please be patience buttt it took them a second to approve and cancel my sh.......! Gtffffohhhhh! Disssss some Bull! Thennnn, I was told to verify my identity using the Mercari App. I had to take a picture of my ID and a frustrated face selfie! Is it because I purchase expensive items....hmmmm? ...Anywhooooo... After all that I now have to wait 48 hours to prove myself. Hey, if someone else wants to pay my bill, be my guest. I love the store site, just not the email customer service...and I had forwarded this review to them! ...UPDATE coming soon ,,,,, BE Patient!

I contacted customer support to apply a 10% off coupon to a $150 order, the rep said he didn’t have access. I then asked him to cancel the order that I placed an hour prior and he said I would need to contact the seller. Their “customer support” provides 0 support. I’m never purchasing anything through them again.

Shame On You, Mercari!

All these people who sent in their reviews are totally honest and correct with their observations.

Mercari used to be such a fun place to shop but recently, I've been victimized by so many of their sellers who are rude, undisciplined and just have no proper breeding and Mercari doesn't seem to care. It seems they want to cater more to these type of people than protect their valuable buyers.

At the beginning, it was truly a joy to shop here that I even gave them a 5Star rating when they asked me to. Now, I regret having done so because of their irresponsible treatment of buyers. If it's according to me, they don't deserve even a one star.

Shame on you Mercari and same goes to your so called team! Instead of showing appreciation towards your buyers, you encouraged more sellers to be rude and nasty even allowing them to rate their buyers only after buyers have given their honest opinion. The result . . . once buyers give an honest rating of below 5Star, sellers then will slapped you with a bad rating just to give back. Totally not fair!

I read the reviews of the many dissatisfied buyers and they are all 100% telling the truth.

Mercari prefers to keep their rotten unruly sellers, than having good, properly educated, well behaved buyers.

Stay away from Mercari if you are not ready to deal with people who has no professional business ethics. Otherwise, if that is not important to you, then please . . . you're most welcome to join the zoo and be one of them!

Same crap as eBay

Same crap as eBay, so why bother. 10% fees, lousy shipping options, horrible navigation on site.
I deleted app after 1 week of multiple posts with zero sales. I guess if I want to lose money on everything or give it away for Free...then it's the perfect app to do it.

Abysmal Service

I have had 2 items which were not up to par and Mercari did nothing. The first one did not describe the color accurately and mercari would not respond. The second item was a glass canister set which arrived broken. I filed a complaint and had to send 21 photos (4 the first time & 17 more after a notice from them) to meet their requirements with in 24 hours. However, I did not even see the second request about needing additional photos bc they only contact you through their site. I sent the next 17 4 hours after the 24 hours. They have not responded and outside of the initial online chat which started all this, they cannot be contacted. The purchase was $52 so I filed a complaint with my credit card company which will hopefully refund the amount.

Not so sure I will be using this site…Bring your own box

Not so sure I will be using this site any longer, far to many inexperienced sellers shipping items that arrive broken. Yes they have a return policy, but in my case the box the item came in was in pieces. I am not equipped to go through the shipping process as a buyer, especially on my own dime.

The most disgusting thing of this site…

The most disgusting thing of this site is when they approve the buyer a refund and they give you an option if you want the buyer to return your item or not... Are you serious??? Hell yes I want them to send my item back!!! And if you make a mistake and hit the wrong one you're done because Mercari gonna say too late.. Sounds like a scam who don't want their item back???? Everyone wants their item that's the purpose of them selling it!

I bought a used item, was suppose to arrive in 5 days, 3 weeks later it arrives and broken. They denied my return, now I am stuck with a busted item which cost me 61.50. Don't buy from this site!

Threatens customers, useless customer service!!

Horrible customer service experience.

A seller I purchased from in the past printed a duplicate shipping label and slapped it onto someone else’s purchase. I contacted the seller first to let her know I received someone else’s item she tried to contact Mercari to send me a return label. The customer service didn’t understand this was someone else’s order and kept telling me I was I was intelligible for return since I had rated my purchase already (which I did for MY OWN PURCHASE). After dozens of e-mails and waiting on the phone for over an hour I finally talked to someone who send me a label.

This entire time however they LOCKED MY ACCOUNT! Even after verifying my ID through a ridiculous serious of photos and sketchy request to scan my drivers license my account was never unlocked. I could never contact the seller to let her know the item was being sent back even though I could tell she was trying to reach out to me.

Additionally, when I requested help to get my account unlocked they claimed I had a chargeback issue with the bank for one of my purchases. I only learned this after two dozen messages and attempted phone calls since Mercari is incapable of actually providing any useful information or help. Again, requesting ID checks, and even after having the bank reverse the chargeback they were threatening me with terminating my account simply because I asked for help on what to do next. They literally closed all my chats to prevent me from asking questions and they completely ignored my e-mails!!

Ultimately I deleted my own account because I will not keep utilizing an app that threatens customers simply for asking for help.

STAY AWAY FROM MERCARI!!

Terrible customer service and response…

Terrible customer service and response time. An item I bought arrived broken and I put in a return request. Got reply that it was being investigated and would be 1 to 2 days reply. It has been over 2 weeks with no resolution or contact. Funds are in limbo...out of my account but seller has not been paid. Seller and I have tried resolving on our own and our messages are deleted. Ridiculous. If there is a problem you will be aggravated and left hanging.

Feel robbed

I sold a pair of 200.00 shoes that were in excellent condition for 40.00 after the lady talked me down from a much higher price. She received them and said they were used shoes which I stated they had been worn. She requested a refund and they gave it to her. Either way that is fine but what is of concern to me is that I accidentally hit the wrong button that said do u want the buyer to send item back. My thumb hit wrong button on accident and I tried to fix it. I contacted mircari and they told me they can't do anything about it and they locked me out from being able to ask the buyer if they would like fly send my shoes back. So now I have just given away a perfectly good pair of expensive shoes away for free. I'm beyond mad over this. Customer support is awful and the responses take forever to get back. I'm canceling my account and going to sell with OfferUp and eBay
