The pass arrived within 3 days of ordering it and came with instructions of how to redeem the voucher they send for the rail pass once in Japan (and list of places where you can exchange it). It was an easy and straight forward process.

JPR would have to be the cheapest and quickest way to get around Japan! For just under $300 ( the approx cost of a 7 day JPR Pass) I travelled from Osaka airport to the big city, then to Kyoto, to Hiroshima, to Yokyo. Staff at all stations were helpful at pointing me in the right direction as to which Bullet train & at which platform to proceed to. I purchased my ticket before I left for Japan,

I'm very pleased that I purchased the rail pass before I arrived. I was able to use it immediately by catching the rapid train from the airport. It was definitely worth the money. We received our money's worth.

The JR lines are not mapped in English or is not available in English hence very difficult to work out how to go around with the JR pass

Really simple. Really easy, bit the bullet and booked 4 tickets - came promptly in the mail (express delivery!)
Saves you the trouble of getting the voucher through another agency or whatever!

We found using the JR Pass so easy and time saving to use. It made catching trains convenient, no having to buy tickets all time. Book seats on trains was also easy having the pass as well. I would also like to say that the JR staff everywhere we went were so helpful and willing to assist us in booking tickets or directing us to the correct platforms to catch our trains. Totally wonderful experience to deal with JR. It also made train travel cheaper than buying tickets for every trip we did. Thank you.

Queue at collection points in Japan is ridiculously long and long waiting time delays journey .

bullet train to Kurashiki was not included (Nazomi line) and it cost an extra $300. Bought green class but had to stand for 3 hours because no seats were available. Financially we didn't get our moneys worth

Service is excellent and very cheap. Recommend for any one going to Japan buy a rail pass from their country

I used my JR pass extensively - local trains and Shikensen (bullet trains). I highly recommend getting one, even if you have all your itinerary booked, because we squeezed a day trip to Kobe, because it was only 12 minutes by Shikensen from Osaka (where we were staying), even tho we didn't stay overnight. It gives you flexibility on the go, which is convenient.
