JD Gyms - Barnsley Reviews 

I payed £10 for my first month on the 30/01 and I have been able to access the gym once. This is because I was emailed by JD Gyms and told that my direct debit was invalid. However, even though I payed for this month it still kicked me out of my account on the app and wouldn’t let me in the gym. I have tried multiple times to get through to customer services with the number they provided me but have been on hold every time for around 1 hour. The staff in the gym itself were extremely unhelpful and told me that if I do this again, I won’t be able to go back, even though it is out of no fault of my own and I have payed to attend the gym this month so should be able to get in. I have sent an email but have had no response.

Great gym, been to a different gym when I was younger and this one just feels great. A great variety of equipment, relatively cheap membership, so good for moneys worth. The fact there is vending machines for different items etc snack,gym towel etc

Only been to classes so far but was very pleased

There needs to be more thorough housekeeping, changing rooms are at times littered and not clean. Several showers are locked off not working. Staff need to challenge patrons who don’t wipe down equipment after use

Has everything I need in a gym, now open 24/7

I would like to see more machines doing the same. You have to stay in queue for using some machines.

parking is crazy no spaces at certain times

The gym floor was a complete mess,plates all over and the free weights section was a shambles with dumbbells just abandoned on the floor.did not see one member of staff despite being in the gym for nearly 2hrs.disappointed

Although I have gone to gyms on and off for many years , I did find some of the machines confusing .

It would be a good idea to have the trainers walking round asking if you are ok or if you need help with anything. Especially in Jan when there are a lot of new starters .
The" pulley machines" are always busy even though we have tried different times .
Thankfully other gym members have been helpful and showed me how to use machines and i have just watched how some people train differently throughout .
I will get used to it but do think the trainers should be around

Fab gym, fab equipment

Easy to gain entry and exit plenty of equipment to use clean feels clean as well staff on hand for advice

It's not a bad gym but I gave it 2 stars because there's no sign on the toilet doors reminding neanderthals to not pee on the toilet seat uurrgghh! And the music is too loud!

Lots of equipment, affordable price, always clean and nicely organised gym

I like JD gym in Barnsley and I am a member on and off ever since they first opened. I would enjoy some more facilities such as steam room instead of sauna but for a budget gym is great .

Good gym, friendly staff,

Plenty of equipment, easy to use and guidance on machines how to use. We go at quieter times so not sure if it gets too busy at peak times but enjoying it so far.

I am loving this gym so far, it's no fuss but with excellent equipment and facilities. Easy keyless entry on your phone. Plenty of equipment and lockers and showers so you are never waiting. Good parking facilities. I like that I was able to join the gym and within an hour I was working out rather than waiting days to book in an induction. I couldn't be more happy, nice clean, well equipped gym.

Excellent facilities but far too packed and lack of staff.
