By far the best gym i've been to. Tried this gym while over that way for the weekend and the rest don't compare. Friendly staff and top quality equipment. Would highly recommend 🙌

Fantastic gym
Spotless clean
Plenty of equipment
Brilliant staff around if you need them

JD gyms bury, you should be ashamed. The toilets have not been cleaned for over 7 hours! There’s no water in the showers and the sauna is not working. Your level of cleanliness leaves little to be desired.

Love this gym. The selection of weights is plentiful.

Taking contracts from 14 year olds and not asking for id. Tried to cancel membership using the online form and still taking direct debit from a childs bank account. Tried to call twice today and no answer. Wanted to resolve this ammicably but cannot manage to speak to anyone.
In response to your comment you will find that a contract with a minor is not legally binding. I find it very concerning that you think a 14 year old ticking a box makes this ok. You should be checking ID, there are no safeguarding measures in place and I am guessing that you are not insured for minors either. We have tried to cancel this contract and still no one has even bothered to ring. I left my phone number along with this review and we have completed the online form to cancel. I suggest that anyone reading this thinks twice before signing up with the gym because it is impossible to cancel once signed up.

I have recently joined JD Gym in Bury and so far so good. There is a lot of equipment to go around, cardio, weight machines as well as plenty of free weights. There is enough space to do your own workouts if you don't catch a session. On that, there are lots of classes from LBT, HIIT, SPIN which are on throughout the day. I prefer the class timetable at JD than that of Total Fitness which I was a member for two years. The changing rooms are fine, there is enough space, being a 24hr gym helps. The showers are well maintained by the cleaning team who keep it in excellent condition. I haven't used the sauna yet, however having it female only is great. The shower power is fine, although the temperature is a bit hot. I have tried three different showers and all seem to be different temperatures so you know which one to avoid if you don't want a hot one. A bonus would be temperature controlled showers but for £20 a month I can't complain. The staff are really friendly and help you out if needed. There are plenty of staff around if you do need something like when I lost my key to my locker. The only downside to this gym is you can only go once a day. If you are training for an event it's not great as you want to get two workouts in a day so this is why I am giving the JD Gym Bury 4 stars. Overall an excellent gym! 👌

I’m absolutely loving the gym!!! Having been elsewhere that felt quite intimidating this place is so welcoming and a really positive atmosphere. Would love to see more Hiitstep on the timetable as it’s the best workout ever, and there’s only one session currently which is packed.
Spinning and the studio always feel really warm though, any chance of cranking up the AC a bit 🥵

6.30am spin yesterday and 6.30am Hiitstep this morning. There's only one person can make me want to get up and exercise at that time, Jayne!!! I also love her Body Attack, Pump and Combat classes. Her classes are so full of energy, they are addictive. I have also really enjoyed Spin and Hiit with Vicky and Spin with Charlie!! Would love to see some Grit classes and/or Hiitstep on a 9.30 class.
The gym is clean, well organised and a feels very inclusive. The staff are helpful and seem really enthusiastic.

Absolutely loving the classes at JD Bury! With such an extensive timetable there’s so much choice. Combat, Pump and Attack with Jayne are fantastic! Jayne is an incredible instructor who always pushes you to get the best out of your workout.
Friday spin with Vicki is also a firm favourite.
It would be nice to see some more Grit classes on at 9.30 as its near impossible to make the 6.30 ones due to childcare. HIIT step especially is one i would love to try, maybe Thursday 9.30 JD??
Keep up the good work :)

WOW I am absolutely loving the new JD Gym Bury!
The class timetable is jam packed and the buzz in these classes is fantastic, in particular Jayne Deakin's Combat & Attack. Also loving Charlie's Spin and Vikki's HIIT.
It would be great to see more HIIT, in particular the Les Mills GRIT series after 6.30am as 6.30's are difficult to get to with childcare etc so perhaps a 9.30 HIIT Thursday??? This would be awesome.
I was desperate to try Jayne's HIIT Step this morning as the buzz around this class has been huge and it did not disappoint it was electric! 37 people in a 6.30am class is incredible and certainly has set me up for the day, thank you Jayne & JD Gyms Bury!

Been at JD Bury since it opened 2 weeks ago. Felt a bit apprehensive going to such a large gym but the staff really make you feel welcome. The classes are great, the instructors are really motivating. Great equipment and lots of it too so no waiting around. Facilities are very clean as is the gym. I've even signed up to a PT Molly Simpson, sets you workout sessions, talked you through nutrition and is really motivating. Only early stages but hopefully I'll get to my fitness goals. Not tried the sauna yet!!

Love the new gym! Great layout, lots of equipment and fab classes.
I’m happy I’ve transferred from Bolton and can continue training with my PT Molly here at Bury JD. I’d highly recommend Molly to anyone, she has the knowledge and skills to help you attain your goal. @mollysimpson_pt

Perfect gym regarding availability of most equipment and cleaning wise. My only complaint would be there’s no proper system for ventilation especially around free weights area side you look at the roof nothing and big speakers which are way too loud, couldn’t breathe there and it was 12 am at night and was cold outside and still couldn’t breath so what’s it’s going to be like in summer. This was the reason I left DW gym in bury which had same issue.

I’ve recently moved from Middleton gym to the new Bury gym and it’s fantastic, with every piece of equipment you could possibly need. Been having some great sessions with my PT Dom Griffiths who I’d been training with at Middleton previously, I can’t recommend Dom enough, one of life’s genuinely nice guys who knows everything you could need to know to gain the physique you’re looking for

Perfect except doesn’t allow for bags on gym floor so you have to carry around your worldly possessions in your arms dumping them at every machine you use
