Abusive Staff
Overall, the gym is quite nice, and the staff is usually friendly. However, today while I was working out, a staff member asked me to put back the weights because the gym was closing in 15 minutes. I was still in the middle of my workout, but I agreed to put them back without any issue. As I was returning the weights, though he suddenly began verbally abusing me using language I can't repeat here, and told me to hurry up. This person clearly needs to learn some basic manners. Not sure if I'll be returning to this gym ever again.
An apology from this person is all I want—no compensation needed.

Worst JD Gym I’ve been to
Worst JD Gym I’ve been to. Everything is misplaced, there is no staff to help you when you have questions and the smell in the gym is horrendous. I gave 2 stars for the sauna.

Staff are incredibly rude
Staff are incredibly rude and they got rid of the cleaning sprays and blue roll/roll. When I asked Kamil for an induction, he fobbed me off, and when I asked Egle for a clean, cleaning rag, she told I can wipe the things "with my bare hands." Even when I asked for blue roll. People sweat on the machines and come in with illnesses, yet the gym refuses to keep things clean. I left, because I felt discouraged and put off by the rudeness and attitude. I think I will go back to my old gym, much more expensive, but at least they're helpful and polite.

The best...
I use JD once a year when I return to the UK for Christmas. Standards are still high, they never lower. Changing rooms and the gym are so clean. Shout out to Kinga because the women's changing rooms are always spotless. Well done to the male cleaner too as the gym is also very clean.
Steve the manager is really friendly and helpful, especially with all the new systems like parking and entering the gym..
New equipment and more squat racks are great too.

I’ve been a member since it opened and the last few weeks have been the worst I’ve known it and will be cancelling my membership. Issues with no hot water for showers and for the last week and a half there’s been no pins to use any weight machines. I drove 15 minutes both days over the weekend and couldn’t have a workout. Sad as used to love it here

Something is going wrong with this gym
Something is going wrong with this gym. How do pins go missing? Over 50%, so most people move to freeweights as an alternative to machines. I dont want to move gym, I like training amongst familiar faces. Even the staff look demotivated because everyone is complaining. Start with little changes and fix what is in your control. Labels, pins, clips, stricter control over reracking weights, fixing broken equiptment.. I am considering suspending membership till I get an email confirming improvement..

Very disappointing, lack of maintenance, overcrowded
Very disappointing to see that this gym has gone down the hill when it comes to its maintenance and hygiene. The gym equipment is shattered, pins are missing, seats are broken or shut. Some of the machines have not been serviced and attended to for more than 3 months! The chest press machine still has its seat stuck for last 2 months or more.
Second, the gym is overcrowded and there is no decency among gym users who use it. Weights are not re-racked, people throw their jackets and big bags next to where they workout. This seems to be a result of lack of proper oversight on how to manage monthly demand and how to keep regular guests also interested in the gym.
I don't know what role does the trainers have in the overall maintenance and management of the atmosphere in the gym, but I feel sorry for them.

Sick of not being able to do what I…
Sick of not being able to do what I need due to lack of pins, and multiple machines being broken all the time. It should not take so long to fix them, nor should they lacking pins 24/7. For a big company, you’d think they took a bit of pride in their gym, but they don’t care about it, clearly. Someone needs to start cleaning, putting orders in for new pins, start fixing machines asap, and keeping the place tidy in general as people shouldn’t have to step over objects. Or at least enforce putting weights back after use. Very close to looking for another gym along with my partner and 3 friends as we are all sick of this.

No labels on weights
Unfortunately, this gym does not have weight labels on the cable stacks and other gym equipment which makes it really hard to log numbers and improve each time. This is an easy fix, so I’m unsure why this hasn’t been addressed.
Also, some gym equipment is broken where you can not move the seat to adjust the seat, leaving others to miss out.
Apart from this, it is a good gym. It just needs the quick fixes addressing.

Asked for one of the Personal trainers to spot me on 100kg and he refused. I accept that he was with a client however they were just talking and not doing anything. Bit of poor service is you ask me baring in mind a 20yr old is trying to hit his pb and asking a professional PT to spot some and refused.
Seems like they only care about their clients since that’s how they make there money rather than the people who pay to use the gym

The men’s sauna is not always on which is a shame, I have anxiety and not fan of having to find people put on sauna and do their job. It has cold shower which is nice but latch is broken and stay broken.
Jd reply is telling me they have green buzzer at the front - this has nothing to do with what I said. You are letting me know where the buzzer is, why not fix staff not putting sauna on and broken latch, I think this reply tells you everything you need to know about Jd.

The Coventry JD Gym is magnificent
The Coventry JD Gym is magnificent. Lawrence is a brilliant member of staff, his smile always greets you on the way in and he is always very friendly. He is a wonderful man and a gift of pleasure to the gym. Such a lovely and friendly man. The gym is a definite 5 stars out of 5 but Lawrence gets 7 out of 5 stars because of how brilliant he is. Good gym, great staff, specifically Lawrence!

Finally cold shower
I am very happy that finally after all these years and suggestions they built one separate shower with cold water, so after a sauna you don't have to go into the hot shower. Well done.

Machine Disrepair
Have been a member of the Coventry gym since it opened, and rarely had reason to complain, as has always been clean tidy and well run, even if the the changing rooms are a bit cramped. and the men's showers have had some issues. However recently a large proportion of the machines have fallen into disrepair normally they're pretty swift with the repairs, unfortunately over the last few months non have been repaired, this has now left a 1/4 of the machines out of action, luckily i attend at 6am so has minimal impact and has just become a bit annoying, however i can imagine this would have a very detrimental effect at busier times, When will this issue be addressed.

Absolutely TERRIBLE gym (SCAMMERS)
Absolutely TERRIBLE gym. I froze my membership last year from sep - nov, they say there’s nothing on their system so they can not refund me even though I didn’t even visit the gym ONCE during that time. I DID submit a request and it’s their own fault they ‘can not find’ my freeze request. Are they lying like the scummy scammers they are? I think so.
Furthermore, these scammers took a payment from the 2020 november lockdown which came out in Jan 2021. They said the payment was requested before lockdown and they would refund it when reopened. Guess what? Reopened a long time ago and here I still am, a year later, asking for my money back for not only sep - nov months, but also a month they took during a LITERAL lockdown. They are pure scammers and I will make sure everybody knows.

Out of order
This gym used to be pretty good, free parking, in town centre, plenty of equipment, but recently it feels as though it has fallen into disrepair. There are several machines that have been broken for over two months, they often forget to turn on the escalator machines on the mornings. There’s no apparent order in the weighted barbells And we often have to walk half the way across the gym to find the right weight. Whilst I’m on subject of weight several machines’ weights are Illegible.
Don’t get me wrong it is a good gym but I’m serious need of care
