The gym has a good variety of kit, including some more 'niche' items like sleds and wallballs. There's a great selection of kettle bells and dumbbells too. The changing rooms are also nice. However, t... See more

Nice gym. Not enough low weights for beginners. Theres no kettle bells below 8kg which isn’t great for women who want to train arms or hip flexors with lighter kettle bells. Some of the equipment is rickety and again can’t be adjusted enough for shorter people.

If you're a newbie to the gym scene just returning after a while off, avoid this company as they're more interested in taking your money 1st before anything else.
Also they don't indicate about inductions so you're at serious risk of injury unless you know what you're doing. Their phone app is appalling as it doesn't work on some phones at all. Personal security such as secure lockers is non-existent as you need to provide your own padlock. Their website can also be misleading. TBH check out other gyms in your area and see and ask what they offer before considering JD Gyms.
Good selection of equipment and availability even during the busier times

While the gym offers a variety of standard equipment, I've encountered a significant concern regarding the maintenance of these machines. Several pieces of equipment have had their weight labels removed, making it challenging to determine the appropriate weight for workouts. Additionally, some of the cable machines exhibit slack, which affects the tension required for exercises. Furthermore, a majority of the pushdown ropes appear to be worn out, and I believe it's essential to replace them promptly to enhance the gym's functionality.
Lastly, while I appreciate the availability of potable water, I believe there is room for improvement in this regard. It would be beneficial to have at least two cold-water dispensers installed to ensure that gym-goers have access to refreshing, chilled water during their workouts.
Great facilities and not too busy at Glasgow North. Unfortunately when I went to go for a sauna there were 3 guys injecting some sort of substance, then I couldn't go for shower as the floor was saturated in urine.
The gym is large, well equipped and spotless.
Looking forward to going more often.

Bad: Equipment run down, no tissue towels to wipe down machines, shoes on mats by other patrons with no rule disallowing this, and not enough mat space.
Good: Parking, great location, spacious, multiple machines to use, lots of benches for dumbbells, and not too busy.
Please consider revamping this location, basic necessities required.

Cable attachments are extremely worn. One rope in particular just should not have gotten into that state and been removed from the gym floor along time ago.
Not enough Dumbbells past 30kg only really one pair of each which isn’t ideal when busy

The price of the monthly Gym membership is quite expensive but the facilities are great 2 use. Alongside with the Sauna room they could hav a swimming & spa pool & more improved shower rooms.
