JD Gyms - Liverpool Edge Lane Reviews 

The Edge Lane refurb and updated equipment is great but there are certain machines that clearly they could double up on or they should update their etiquette policy as you should be prepared to be harassed by other members who want to use your equipment at a time that suits them. Totally understandable if someone is asking about how long you might be but I was verbally abused and harassed to get off a piece of equipment by a much stronger and taller guy who wouldn't wait a few minutes for me to even start and finish on the apparatus as I didn’t feel comfortable swapping in and out (which is not part of their policy).

If you are not a confident gym user like me or just getting back to it I wouldn't recommend this place as it is notoriously filled with scallies and aggressive men who behave like they own the gym and won't take a polite no for an answer. I did complain to the on site manager who was empathetic but really didn't seem like he was able to or could do much so I cancelled.

Excellent gym - clean, well maintained, very wide range of equipment, excellent value for money considering you’ve got a sauna too. One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to, would highly recommend

What’s the point to have the gym opened 24/7 if you close the changing rooms at 22:00 and leave the whole gym with just one single toilet/changing room!?? Very disappointing! :(

Recently joined an im absolutely loving it great environment everyone doing there own thing the only issue I have found is not everyone or staff go around cleaning up the equipment

Mens washroom is very dirty and not cleaned as well as it stinks really bad. Also, the stretching area is very small.

Nice and clean and not at all busy but it was 5am. No idea where the sauna is yet. A sign for that would be nice.

QR code wouldn’t work to let me in the gym & had no code sent to me either,asked a few other gym goers for help & got completely ignored,I’ll stick to PureGym💪🏻

The toilet always has a bad smell and not clean enough.
The free weights are not in order.

The gym's upgrade is stunning and it completely killed any queuing up on machines. Plus the 24/7 did attract me to stay with the gym that I've been with for 5 years.

The 1st day I returned to JD gym in Edge Lane, my training was restricted by only 1 rowing machine in operation, with a training mat close to it and cramped I was waiting for access on other pieces of equipment, and equipment out of order.
The 2nd day 3 more rowing machines appeared, which I assume had been in for repair, I tried to use the rowing machines but 2 had low battery and could not use the machines, ironic given they have been out of operation, access to the equipment was easier the 2nd day, new layout in changing room is an improvement as is the overall of showers and sauna. The gym was clean and tidy, but disinfecting and cleaning stations significantly reduced

Fantastic facilities, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff, all make for a pleasurable experience.

I used to train at JD Gym at Edge Lane before, but I had to cancel as it was not yet 24/7. Being now 24/7 has made me come back. However,the fact that changing rooms are locked after 8pm on weekends is a drawback. In addition, cleanliness is not the best in the men's changing room, particularly in the lockers, with stains and dust. The gym floor refurbishment is great!!!! Plenty of equipment for both machines and free weights.

Went to a 24hr gym jet the locker rooms are only open at certain times.
