Really impressed with this gym. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and happy to help. They also have really great equipment/machines, and having a dedicated women's only area is a bonus!

Not so good there are some cables and some machines equipments that are out of order and not being fixed worst WIFI system as well this is so bad as I’m paying approximately £25 they need to fix them at least ,how we can workout with fault equipments and machines. And also limited cable equipments.

Well-equipped and great classes. I love that you can join classes without booking in advance. I particularly love that there is a women's section with a lovely sauna area.
I will definitely recommend this gym.

The gym has gone absolute downhill especially since the new manager vinny started. The machines are absolutely disgusting and never cleaned. Equipment has been broken for months, ripped fabric. Broken cables. He's very rude and has a very bad attitude towards customers. He neglects the timetable. He's losing all the best instructors down to his attitude and the way he treats them. The gym was running better when Gloria and Ella were in charge. Think vinny should find alternative work as the gym is not something he can handle.
Something needs to change.

I have been a member of JD for around 6 months now and am mortified at the types of people they employ. They have two main Personal Trainers, Amanda who is more worried about finding a boyfriend than clients and Mortu who spends more time recording himself and hitting on girls of all ages! I have been left to feel very uncomfortable in a gym where their trainers are allowed to record strangers without permission and take videos mocking members trying to make a change. It has also been known that Morta has been inappropriate with his clients on gym premises but yet nothing is done. Stay clear if you ACTUALLY want to make a change in your life.

I joined on £15 promo offer. 11.30pm attended gym and struggled to enter (you can’t get in without good phone signal/QR code scan) took me 30-50mins combined getting in and out premises. Changing rooms were locked, shower facility was also closed till 5am and if you want to use toilet, you must find the cleaner to unlock disable toilets for you. Why call it a 24hr gym when you limit access to essential gym facilities after a certain time. They also failed to refund me.

Really appalled that JD do not provide paper towels and cleaning spray anymore. It does not encourage basic hygiene which is important to those of us who are vulnerable to Covid, staph infections, MRSA etc. surely this is a basic necessity that JD should provide. I am considering joining Pure Gym again as they have dedicated cleaning stations. Really disappointed that the gym does not consider such essentials as important.

5 stars for runis classes. It was the only reason I joined so if they get cut as I have heard through the grapevine then I will be leaving. If its not broke don't fix it

Like always management take no complain serious and they ignore reviews too. I joined 3 months ago and 3 to 4 machine not working in ladies gym ...rubbish management.
They have like 4 machines in the ladies section that don't work which is a shame since it's such a small space to begin with. I assumed they'd fix the machines but they're just taking up space.
The classes are great though. The LBT class is super effective and the instructor Runi was great, very engaging and mindful of beginners.
beautiful gym with cool lights and best equipment. wish they had more variety in handles for back workouts
Absolute scam. I cancelled the membership within the cooling period and confirmed over the phone. But They did not refund the money within promised time. And on top charged another £25 after 4 days of the cancellation. I had to remind them after 2 weeks that they did not refund yet. Apologized. Guess what? Now customer service guy called James is still playing around after another 4 weeks with excuses for not to refund.
Disappointing and seriously disgusted.
The gym is ok , have good variety equipment but the location is awful and unfortunately the lack of sense and manners from people is disappointing. People using two machines at the same time , reservating machines with bottles of water . Especially from 16 o’clock just becomes ridiculous. Especially downstairs, weights all over the place , machines full loaded with weights. Sadness but I wouldn’t expect anything else since this Luton 😑 far from that I still think it’s a great gym and unfortunately we can’t change how people behave. And another thing the ladies space really makes me claustrophobic, to small and lack of equipment!

There not enough equipments in ladies side of the gym in Luton. They should expand the ladies area and put more equipment such as for chest workout, legs workout, and biceps workout etc.

I joined this gym back in November 2022 when it first opened.
Initial thoughts, I was happy with the varied equipment because it was different and of good quality, free parking up to three hours and open 24 hours, but unfortunately there is nothing else good to say from here.
Since opening, the gym has already gone downhill and I blame this on a few things:
The cheap membership price, the members themselves, the chosen location and some of the staff.
Equipment has been abused already and is not maintained.
There are no clips available to keep weights safely in place while using them on bench press or leg machines etc, however this might be due the fact that I have witnessed some members openly taking them.
I actually bring my own clips on certain days when I know I will require them.
The staff are always too busy talking among themselves and sitting around on their phones rather than keeping the gym tidy and looking presentable.
The changing rooms are WAY too small; you are literally on top of each other very single day regardless of what time you go. This has actually resulted in a few small altercations between members. I would honestly say that anymore than 8-10 people in there at any one time is already pushing too many.
The changing rooms are also locked from 00:00 till 05:00, so you cannot shower after training, however I have witnessed that some members have this code and freely go in and out when others cannot.
Would JD Gym like to explain this?
The sauna is not maintained and the calibre of members that use it absolutely abuse it, so this needs to be regularly checked throughout the day but never is.
A-lot of members do not even shower before using it (very nice after a good sweaty workout), they do not wear the appropriate shorts/swimwear, some actually wear full clothing in there including trainers and I have witnessed people washing in there. I thought that was what a shower was for?
Someone has actually stuck chewing gum down one side of the sauna and that has now been there for just over two months, so proof that it is not cleaned/maintained as you’d expect.
Overall, sincerely disappointed as I was looking forward to this gym opening due to the lack of competition in and around Luton.

Is a new gym in Luton. Came straight from work by bus so had my backpack which is very expensive itself aswell as my work laptop securely locked away. Only to come back and find it has been broken into and items stolen. Never had this problem in any of my other gyms as they let me either leave my valuables in the office or carry with me on the gym floor which this gym does not allow. Have tried raising this issue with higher management / head office where no one gets back. Quite a few members have had items stolen and nothing was done.
