WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES OF ALL TIME

WORST SERVICES OF ALL TIME, They delayed me in the queue and charged me extra $90 to rebook for next flight which wasted my two hours. Their whole system is SCAM!

Jetstar cancelled my flight out of Singapore to Melbourne ,
Rebooked the next day with Qantas - currently departure running 6 hrs late and then tried to charge me $180 for changing my domestic ticket in Australia for a problem they caused . Took over 2 hrs on “live “ chat to resolve the problem. The reason I avoid Australian Airlines like the plague

0 stars for lack of empathy for cancer patient, inconsistent communication

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

We booked Auckland–Queenstown for after our wedding so both our families (flying in from overseas) could celebrate with us. Two months before, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and required major surgery just two days after our wedding.

I called Jetstar and was told—twice—that with a medical certificate we’d receive a refund. When I finally submitted the certificate (signed by the surgeon, stating the cancer diagnosis and planned surgery, with hospital details), I was told it was “not valid.” After over an hour on hold and arguing, the agent refused the promised refund and only offered flight credit. Exhausted and upset that my husband’s medical documentation was being questioned, I gave in.

Three months later, after his surgery, my husband called about booking flights for our delayed honeymoon which we hope to take next year once he's better. The agent couldn’t care less and simply said, “check online.” My husband asked more flight details , the agent said "you can call again later."

Jetstar shows zero empathy, zero accountability, and zero interest in helping customers. If you outsource your call centers, train them properly. This kind of service is disgraceful and reflects the airline you run.

Pathetic, unreliable, money-grabbing, uncaring monster

I concur with many reviews here calling Jetstar pathetic, unreliable and uncaring. I fly between Perth and Sydney on regular basis. Whenever I can, I avoid Jetstar due to its unreliability - cancelled, delayed flights, rude behaviour by their staff... Four or five weeks ago I had a flight from Perth to Sydney cancelled for 'technical reasons'. Today I was supposed to fly with them today to Sydney. The app would not allow me to check-in the whole day. Apparently, I did not buy a seat - which I did when I booked the ticket and paid extra money for that. I tried to see whether I could buy a seat (again!) - the app would not let me. Then I received a txt from Jetstar that the flight is delayed by an hour. So I arrived at the airport a bit later but still about an hour before the flight with no luggage to check-in. I was refused a check-in because, apparently, I was late. I explained my situation with the app and the txt message. In the background, I hear the check-in staff on a walkie-talkie talking that the flight is overbooked. When I mentioned this back to the person who was serving me and stated that this is their reason why I was not able to check-in online, she started to yell at me ('What did you say to me'). I was then offered a 'favour' to be booked on the same flight the next day for $90. Absolutely pathetic airline! Never again, Jetstar!

Worst air company ever

Worst air company ever. When we were checking the weight of the luggage was ok. After that they started to weight of carry on backpacks, 4 and 5 kilos each. They told us to take of some thing and keep them in our pockets… don’t know why but we did. Then they told us that we have to pay for excesive weight.
It was on the range according to our reserve. Aka most lost the flight.
Finally we had to pay 30€ and 50€ if we want seats together… we couldn’t do check in previous days through their website but didn’t work. It said that you have to do it at the airport.

There is no Jetstar office in Thailand

There is no Jetstar office in Thailand, and the country has two international airports. Jetstar only operates from one of them. We arrived at the airport on time, checked in, and completed all the required steps. However, when we reached the gate, they had closed the door just 10 minutes before we got there and did not allow us to board our flight(JQ66). After that, the airport staff (Suvarnabhumi Airport

Discrimination

I was called by Jetstar on 19th August to notify me that there was an issue with the aircraft and the flight from Ayer's Rock to Sydney would not go ahead. I was informed I only had two options; get an earlier flight to Melbourne or else fly the next day to Sydney. I notified Jetstar that neither option suited but was told they were the only options. After cancelling our plans and arriving at the airport early from the Melbourne flight, I could not believe it when I seen that the flight to Sydney was still going ahead and I was lied to. It turns out we were given incorrect information and bumped off the flight as they oversold it to line their own pockets. We paid over $1200 for the return flights and believe that Jetstar discriminated against us and were the passengers who they decided to kick off the flight. I have used Jetstar often for work and will never ever fly with them again unless they issue a refund.

Booking with this airline was the beginning of a nightmare. Their website and app are confusing, full of glitches, and designed to squeeze extra money out of you at every click. The baggage experience was even worse. At check-in, the staff seemed more interested in finding ways to charge passengers than in actually helping. I was told my perfectly normal carry-on was “oversized” (though I’ve flown with it on multiple other airlines without issue) and forced to pay an outrageous fee on the spot. To make things worse, the baggage counter staff were rude, dismissive, and seemed annoyed just by having to speak to customers.

Jetstar - a very unreliable airline

We booked a flight from Singapore to Melbourne on 17th July to fly out on 15th August at 9pm from Changi airport. The booking reference was PQGG6N. Three days prior to the departure date we were informed that that flight has been cancelled due to technical reasons and we had been asked to seek alternatives. At the time we were holidaying in Malaysia. It was an arduous task to find alternative flights from Singapore as all the flights of other airlines were fully booked. We had to pay a very high premium price to get a flight to Melbourne. Flight cancellation caused lots of inconvenience and it ruined our holiday plans.
Never ever trust Jetstar. It is a very unreliable airline with a very poor track record of customer services.

Never use Jetstar!!

Never use Jetstar!!
Flight cancellation ruined my precious family trip and summer vacation!
Nevertheless, Jetstar Airlines does not offer any compensation other than refunds.
The cancellation caused significant financial losses, including hotel penalties and travel agency penalties, and despite asking for damages for them, no compensation is given!
If you don't want to have a terrible experience, never use Jetstar Airlines!!!

Plane was disgusting

My bag weighed 6.8kg at home and when they weighed it there it was 7.3kg. They charged me $75 for excess baggage. When I boarded there were chips all over the floor. No wifi available and no pocket in front. It was filthy.

WORST airline CHEAP & Unreliable

Jetstar is the worst airline, CHEAP and unreliable, outbound international flight was delayed for 8 hours due to engineering issue. Inbound international direct flight was cancelled at short notice. We are a family of 3 with the same booking, they put me and my two young children in different rows far away! Also they are money hungry monsters who want to suck out every dollar out of you, you have to pay for food, for selecting seats. We are transferring from Sydney to Melbourne on flight JQ505 on 15 August 2025, for excess bag we had to pay for $110 at the gate in Sydney, even after taking out a pile of stuff from our luggage, the 40s Aussie lady wouldn't let us go for 0.3 KG of excess or the door will be closed and they will offload us, my children were crying. It was so much stress for us. NEVER ever fly with this bloody monster again!!!

Lack of Accountability

There was a stain on one of our passports, although the numbers and face photos were clear. We had been able to travel using the passport before. They refused to let us through outright, and said they weren’t sure the ticket would even get refunded. Jess was courteous and understanding at the counter (could Shabeena be given the same training, please?). On top of that, we weren’t able to reschedule the flight because they registered us as “no show”, although that wasn’t the case at all. This had repercussions on rescheduling future flights when needed, with no compensation from Jetstar.
