Written by the company
From modest beginnings in Enfield as a single store in 1971, Jollyes has now grown into one of the leading pet food superstores with over 100 locations across the UK alongside a market-leading position in Northern Ireland. From Perth to Plymouth, Newry to Norwich, at Jollyes customers can find anything for their pet, from pet food, pet toys and an array of pet accessories. Customers are actively encouraged to bring their pets into store, while customers shop because Jollyes people are passionate about pets. Potty about puppies and crazy for cats, no matter what the animal, store colleagues are always on hand to help with anything from product advice, to picking the perfect pet and accessories. Many stores also run community clinics offering vaccinations and other advice from trained vets. And if one of Jollyes stores isn’t close by, there’s helpful advice on Jollyes website where you can ask the expert. Jollyes was named 2023 Pet Retail Chain of the Year at the Pet Industry Federation Awards and was named best retailer under £250m turnover in the 2024 Retail Week awards. Earlier this month it was also named for the first time as one of the best big companies to work for in the Sunday Times annual survey. A full list of stores and advice for customers on owning a pet can be found at www.jollyes.co.uk. Don’t worry if you don’t have a store nearby, you can shop and find helpful advice on our website.

What a credit your staff are to your company
I’m sorry I didn’t see the young lady’s name. Dark haired and young. She is a credit to your company. She talked me through all the puppies food and treats. She remembered me on the next visit and asked how Milo was doing. She again advised us on food and treats. We only went back to you store as she was so helpful.

Since the voucher system stopped I was unsure what the benefits of being in the pet club were. I asked at the counter to be told I get paw prints each time I spend over a certain amount, which I do every visit, I have never received a paw print. Funny enough I got in my car to receive a text saying I had a paw print. I downloaded the app but couldn’t register as it will not allow me to put a postcode in. No loyalty shown from jolly’s

The Jolly Groomer?
My usual groomer wasn’t available so decided to try this place on a whim. I was assured that the groomers had experience with Poodles.
Towards the end of the appointment I wanted to check on him. I made sure to keep out of my almost 2 year old Poodles’ sight and peeped around a corner.
One member of staff was talking softly to an Alsatian dog that looked reassured and relaxed. The other member of staff was yanking my dog, spinning him sharply and snapping at him. He looked disoriented, scared and completely stressed. I ended up going in and tried to tell her that she would get nowhere treating him like that and asked her to be more gentle. I stared down her look of distaste then went back to my hiding place so she could finish.
I’ve watched his usual groomer in secret and only witnessed her being gentle and kind, he almost does acrobatics for her!
Well, this groomer obviously knew my dog (and the breed) better than I because she continued with her ill treatment. I couldn’t watch anymore, I went in and told her to get him down. I left the money on the counter and left without another word. My husband is furious that I paid for a job half done but I didn’t want to be accused of any wrongdoing.
Hopefully my silence spoke volumes but if it doesn’t then my advice would be to get more training on understanding dog breeds and how to get the best out of them. It’s extremely obvious that it just a job to you but these bundles of fur are everything to us.
My almost two year old Poodle is still shaking and panting but is home and I can safely say that I will never use this company again.
