Very good experience with move from London to Somerset

I needed a removals firm to dismantle a large four poster bed and wardrobe (without any instructions) and deliver them to my daughter in Somerset (and reassemble them there), at very short notice. Jones Moves were a real pleasure to work with - they were friendly and courteous, arrived on time, dismantled the furniture quickly and got it down four flights of stairs without any trouble at all. My daughter tells me everything went equally smoothly at her end. I would gladly use them again and recommend them to everyone I know.

Best moving company!

We've chosen to go with Jones Moves for a fairly last minute move. Their coordinator Rosie was extremely helpful and helped us get a quote (which was very reasonable) and everything booked super quickly. As a family business they also have a very personal service and super helpful communication which takes a lot of anxiety out of a very stressful move.

On the moving day, Liam and Casey did an amazing job. They are very lovely to have around, very efficient and quick - even when navigating small and narrow spaces and entrances.

In the end, the whole move was done within the morning!

I'd definitely choose them again should I have to move again and would definitely recommend everyone to have a slightly less stressful move - it's worth it for sure!

This was the second time using Jones…

This was the second time using Jones Moves, the moved me into a third floor flat (with no lift) and helped me move out of it. Turned up bang on time and moved everything without a scratch, great service and will use again when I move in the future.

Great experience for 2 moves

Used twice now for 2 different moves and found both the organisation of the move and team on the day extremely helpful, polite and fast to respond. And very understanding when we hugely underestimated the amount of stuff we had to move!

Absolutely brilliant service

Absolutely brilliant service. The communication prior to the moving date was top notch and the pricing was very fair. The packing was done efficiently and considerately. Very efficient, stress-free move! Thank you Rosie, Casey and Liam!

We were recommended Jones Moves by a friend and we were so glad we chose them for our house move! The whole booking process was straightforward and Rosie was super friendly and very prompt in terms of answering queries.

The two lads who came to help with the move process (Casey and Liam) were also really friendly, professional and so efficient - it really made the move process stress-free for us.

On top of that, Jones Moves also offered such a competitive quote which beat other local companies.

Just like their Gorilla logo, these guys live up to the branding, picking up heavy items like they weighed nothing and ensuring they were packed in the most efficient way - I was shocked at how much stuff fit in a Bedford Luton van.

Additionally, they were also careful with all delicate items like glassware, TV's etc which all arrived perfectly.

Overall, so glad we went with Jones Moves and would recommend them to anyone who is moving house as they really go above and beyond for their customers! Thank you Rosie, Casey and Liam!

Tremendous service!

Very happy with my experience in using Jonesmoves for my recent flat move. Everything went incredibly smoothly and the team really took the stress out of the day for us.

Rosie was incredibly helpful in organising the logistics and was very flexible in finding the best solution to accommodate our timing.

The gents who did the move on the day did a cracking job as well. Very quick, super professional and everything made it from A to B safe and sound. We couldn't have asked for more!

Lost money and time

I imagine they can do good removals, but my time and money was wasted by these guys - they turned up twice for a loft removal without the right kit (no ladder first time, no floor covers/sheeting second time, in spite of being asked to bring them). They were very defensive when asked why they had come unprepared again, and we were not pleased by their lack of basic organisation, and told them so, and offered to find some sheets of our own. They just walked off the job and then told their manager that we were rude and shouted at them - a lie! They were unprepared, twice, clearly couldn't be bothered to do the job on a Saturday. They kept 50% of the deposit and cost us a babysitter twice. We do not recommend.

Thank you for your review, however it is not true. Please see my response. Just so that you are aware - I'm not just their manager and the team you had are the owners of the company so while you imply that they have lied to me, this was not the case.

1) I will just add that you are not my customer, you did not pay for the job and it was not organised by you. Therefore you did not have the terms and conditions sent to you and the details of the job/the quote/invoice etc so while there are things you were not happy with, Ilaria agreed to our terms and conditions and paid for the job which meant she agreed to our terms.

2) We did not arrive without a ladder the first time, we turned up with a ladder that was far too big after being told that was the size we needed by Ilaria. The team even walked to the shop to try to get another one in a smaller size on the day which didn't work out so we reorganised for another day. We then agreed with Ilaria we would give a refund and eventually agreed to come back to do the job in the New Year.

3) We would never usually agree to do a job where we are expected to get up a ladder in to a loft and drag down 10 years worth of stuff including a sofa etc, we agreed to do it for your sister, a returning customer who we really enjoy working with, When we arrived the second time, with the correct ladder, not only did you want dust sheets put down you wanted us to use our boxes to pad out the walls of your property while we brought it down from the loft, my colleague was trying to tell you he can get the items down from the loft without for the need to tape cardboard to the walls. You only offered to put your own sheets down after you had laid in to the team saying that they are in the wrong and they should have it organised, we weren't aware we were coming in to your home to go through the loft so of course the team weren't prepared! After you were rude the team no longer wanted to entertain you and without Ilaria bring present this caused us a lot of issues because you and your mother were both rude, your mother shouted throwing her hands up saying about putting cardboard up the walls. Of course the team are going to be defensive they are standing in a room with you being sarcastic and rude, belittling them and shouting in foreign language with you calling them ridiculous. As said, our customer was not present and we will not take such behaviour from people we haven't even agreed a job with, we have high standards as a company but we are not slaves who will be shouted at, you can say you weren't rude all you like, I dealt with Ilaria afterwards and chose to ignore your email which was just as full of lies for a reason, I will not deal with you as we do not have you in the system as a customer. We work seven days a week a Saturday makes no difference, we drove to London twice, paid all London fees, wasted two whole days out of the calender unable to book actual removals work in, walked up and down trying to find a solution, purchased a new ladder all to be spoken to like we were rubbish therefore 50% of the fee was warranted. Your sister is a lovely human being and unfortunately you have likely tarnished the likelihood of ever working with her in the future. Such a shame.

Another 5 star review from me, for this team! Through no fault of my own, I’ve ended up moving twice this year already due to a bit of bad luck. Fortunately, Liam, Casey and Rosie came to my rescue. I was in a troubling flat-share and the circumstances were less from ideal but Liam and Casey got my stuff out in record time, efficiently and respectfully. I felt so safe with them. Not to mention they genuinely care and want to help. Book them, you won’t regret it!

Moving guys are nice!

Moving guys are nice, thanks! Manager Rosie is not what I except from a professional company or small family company and I had to deal with her more than with the actual movers. To me family company is when everyone rushes to help you and comfort you if anything goes wrong, not someone who is being too casual with me telling me "to be honest I don't know why you are contacting us" after I find a scratch on my furniture. Even thought it has been 6 months in storage it was loaded by them and not moved until the day of enquiry today. Putting the blame on their fellow movers (which I do too equally and fairly, although I have seen no damage during their move). It's really not about the scratch, I perfectly know I will never find out the truth and its might be not them but ownership of what you do and post customer service is what would be nice. I do not believe they should be solely recommended company by Big Yellow Storage in Nine Elms, they do not represent fully what all clients look for. I don't like to be talked to like I am a distant unwanted relative rather than a paying (paid) client. My review would be 3.5 but having no such option its 4.

It is also a shame they refused to move me outside of London (I can now see reviews that they took some clients 3h out). My life would be so much easier if the same people would reassemble my items and it will help with the accountability.

PS. I was recommended to you? I am afraid it’s the other way around. Fairly rude because of the hoover? You just plain lying, you excused yourself for mixing what to leave and what to take on the spot and not passing the right message to the movers. I needed to clean the flat and hoover a bit for the new owner before throwing it away…is kind of a nice thing to do? I had to borrow it from a shop under my building. (btw funny enough I never found that hoover in the boxes, so not sure where it went). And just because I was not super kind about your mistake doesn’t mean I was rude, I was to the point. You take everything personally and not professionally which is shown again in your response, it’s not about you but inconvenience caused (as I said on the day) in already stressful moving time! Also please let the client be the judge of the good work you have or have not done. I have tipped the movers because they were good, your customer service is a separate thing and I spoke mostly to you. Also “I am not sure why you are contacting us” is neither polite nor helpful, you were only 1 of 2 people moving my things without me even having the ability to see and control it 100%. Where did you read I am not satisfied with the movers to call me a customer that can never get satisfied? It clearly states in the title, issue is not them…

You are my first negative review on my customer service, I am not just the manager of Jonesmoves, this business is my life and customer service comes naturally to me because every customer is very highly appreciated where I am concerned. You were recommended to us by Nine Elms, from even the first email you wanted a package company with storage etc and I politely reminded you we are only a small company and perhaps you'd be better suited to another company, you complained to Nine Elms about that too, you accepted our original quote and we done a good job for you, on the day we took the hoover that you wanted left in the property, you were fairly rude to me that day and I handled it professionally and and we compensated you for your taxi with no complaints.

Thank you for reading through our reviews to find the long distance reviews, we do complete national Moves, however when you asked me to quote you I told you honestly and openly that we are down to a two man team which means that I didn't have drivers to share the drive. I didn't refuse to do your job, I gave you the truth and when asked, I told you what size van we used. Again, polite, friendly and helpful.

You emailed me yesterday to show a scratched TV unit. I simply replied that another removals company has since unloaded the unit, stacked their van, drove to Macclesfield, unloaded into your property and reassembled and we are getting the blame, we cannot be held liable when another company has since moved the furniture hence, I'm not sure why you're contacting me about it it should be them you ask.

I don't think I was in the wrong, I'm afraid. I have a collective of over 300 reviews over all platforms that mention my customer service and the professionalism of the company so we are sorry that you don't feel that way, however we have been nothing but polite, friendly and helpful and do take such complaints personal and are really disappointed when we do such a good job for a customer who just is never satisfied regardless of the job. As I say, I think it is fair that you have this out with the company because we do know that we left that Storage unit in a perfect and professional manner, doesn't matter how high things were stacked, it was packed properly.

Excellent removal company of true professionals

These guys are absolutely fantastic! We were moving 90 minutes out of London and our little house was absolutely crammed full of things. Every cupboard was packed full and they turned up and got the lot packed with such speed and all done so carefully. We also lived down a pretty notorious road in terms of parking and how narrow it was but they managed to make it all work even moving around the rubbish and recycling truck as it was bin day when we moved. I could not recommend these guys more. Rosie was also excellent and went above and beyond to fit us in which we really appreciated. Thank you so much guys, true professionals.

Amazing service! I can’t recommend them enough!

Amazing service! I recomend them to anyone who needs to move out. Rosie responds to any email super quick, always resolving any doubts, trusting me as a customer and solving any problem quickly. The moving day, the team was there on time. I literally had to do nothing! They took control, being always profesional and super polite. They finished the job very efficiently. My stuff arrived to the new location (which was three hours away from London) in perfect conditions. Really, really recommend it! Moving out has always been super stressful and tiring but Jones Moves made this moving day super easy!
