Avoid this terrible fabric with no accountability from the company!
This couch looks beautiful in the pictures, but, unfortunately, the fabric is TERRIBLE. After just a couple of months of light use, it began to pill significantly so that our brand new couch began to look matted and worn. For the price, I would hope the company would offer fabrics that would hold up over time. I contacted the company and they told me that any rubbing (like from sitting on your couch!) can cause pilling and that it’s normal and therefore not defective. They sent me something to shave off the pilling, which doesn’t work at all. The fabric is so easily matted that it can’t be shaved off. If I’d known the potential for this, I never would have ordered. I’m disappointed that I’m still paying for a sofa that began to look so shabby after a couple of months. This was a big purchase for us and I’m a little heartbroken.
Update: the reply from the company on this review below encouraged me to reach out to Joybird so they can assist. I guess that’s just for marketing, because I went through the trouble to do that and they basically said “sorry, terrible fabric that starts to look shabby after three months of light use isn’t a defect, so there’s nothing we can do.”

*Do Not Buy From Here*
I was led to believe by an online customer associate that the couch I selected (including “stain-resistant fabric at extra cost) was exactly what I had been looking for after months of searching. I was duped into paying thousands of dollars for a cheap and painfully uncomfortable item that was nothing as advertised (and definitely NOT stain-resistant). I took time to try it out before writing this. But after undergoing surgery and a long recovery time that required me to WFH and spend more time on the couch, it ended up causing me painful blisters/sores/rashes. I’m devastated and want my money back. I hope no one purchases from this place.

Get the swatch kit, don't go off of pictures
Made the mistake of ordering without the swatch kit and went off of pictures on the website. Color ended up being very different than website. Reached out to customer service several times, each time it felt like they were just blowing me off. They admitted that their pictures on the website weren't accurate. Only option was to pay to ship it back with a 25% restocking fee. They wouldn't even give me a discount on the slip covers. The couch is comfortable but my interaction with customer service was so bad I would never buy from this company again. The latching mechanism that holds the modules together also doesn't work very well. I ultimately regret this purchase.

confusing return policy, horrible smell, poor quality
Unfortunately, the online images do not match the actual fabrics, and the quality is well below the prices they are asking.
What I received does not at all look like what I ordered. A direct quote from Joybird customer service "it can be hard to get photos of all the fabrics we offer on all the items, especially if they are newer. In those instances, we use computer renderings of the fabric, which, unfortunately, aren't as accurate". After contacting customer service, I was lead to believe that if I submitted my details during the 14 day window, that there was an option to return the item. In the end, they denied a return/refund. An incredible waste of time, as well as misleading.
Another note about the Lewis Loveseat: the main cushion for this item is canted, so it is higher & more filled in the back of the cushion, than in the front. The cushion causes you to slide forward, and the cushion itself does not stay in place...it also slides forward.
Additionally, the cushion sinks where you sit, so anything you set beside you rolls to the low point. It also makes the loveseat very uncomfortable.
I must mention the smell....this piece of furniture has the strongest off-gas of any piece of furniture I have ever purchased. 3 weeks, and it is still filling our house with a very toxic smell.
Overall, a huge disappointment & not near the quality I was expecting.

This company makes cute stuff but you’ll never get it
This company makes cute stuff. They have horrible variances on when things will arrive. I originally ordered a Briar sofabed and it was going to take 6-8 weeks. The date kept getting moved back and then I realized it would not match the color shown on the images. They recommended I order something in stock if I needed it soon. I found another sofa bed in stock online and it was on clearance. Great! The girl on the phone told me that it was “definitely in stock and would ship by Feb 12th”. I that’s the end of February for delivery. Great. Awesome.
Then I checked status mid-February and it was delayed until mid-March. I have emailed twice and no one has responded. Then this past week I got an email stating my couch is NOT in stock and I would get a refund. What the eff.
Horrible ridiculous service. No solution just canceled after weeks of waiting never again.

Horrible fabric beware!
Horrible fabric beware! I will never purchase from joybird again. I purchased the HOLT sectional in milo dove fabric and was excited about my purchase considering their dedication to sustainability and glowing reviews! It seemed to be worth the price as a great longtime investment piece.
After a few weeks of use, the fabric began piling heavily in one section of the couch. I decided not to reach out to joybird customer service, because I didn't think it would spread to the entire couch. For context, the couch has been minimally used and when it is, always treated with care. So as you can imagine, I was shocked when the fabric was falling apart. I called joybird after 2.5-3 months of having the couch and described the issue. The fabric warranty you have for a year apparently DOES NOT COVER PILLING OR FABRIC THINNING. Joybird considers that "wear and tear". My couch looks like its been used for 5+ years and all joybird did to "resolve" was offer a fabric shaver. They were not helpful at all. I'm very disappointed in my experience, as I wanted to be a loyal customer....but can't say that anymore after this terrible experience.

We have had our joy bird sectional for…3 years
We have had our joy bird sectional for about 3 years. It’s already deflating, you can feel the frame through the cushions. $8k later and I’m so disappointed.

I purchased the Bryant Daybed from Joybird and found that the company falsely advertised its product and warranty
I purchased the Bryant Daybed from Joybird on November 25th, 2022, for the amount of $2,742.85 and receive my order on January 6th, 2023. I was initially attracted to the daybed due to its unique design and perceived high quality. However, it quickly became evident that the daybed is more suitable for display purposes rather than practical, everyday use.
The initial product description on the website's landing page for this piece of furniture boasted that the daybed is meant for extended use and can accommodate both the users and their "furry friends." Additionally, the details and product description stated that the furniture is comprised of cushions for luxurious seating. However, upon receiving the piece, I discovered that the seats were not cushions as advertised, but rather pillows.
Furthermore, the product care instructions indicated that regular vacuuming with a vacuum attachment and spot cleaning are recommended. However, any attempts to clean or vacuum the fabric, even without laundering the covers (which you cannot do because it voids the warranty), result in pilling and fuzzing. This level of degradation is unacceptable, especially considering the limited use the daybed had and the cost.
I reached out to the company multiple times regarding this issue, as it fell under the one-year limited warranty. However, I was disappointed to find that I was met with attempts to absolve themselves of any responsibility. I even offered to purchase replacement covers, although it should not have been necessary, only to be informed that the covers are not sold separately and that I would need to pay $350 per piece.
The company has repeatedly claimed that the degradation falls under "normal wear and tear," which I find difficult to believe. I have never encountered a piece of furniture that degrades to this extent within a matter of months. It is clear that the company has falsely advertised the durability and quality of the daybed, as well as failed to fulfill the warranties promised to customers. The website states, "Furniture is meant to withstand years of memories, which is why we back every piece with a promise." Unfortunately, this daybed did not even withstand months.
I urge that they are held accountable to take responsibility for falsely advertising their products and their warranties. The degradation of the daybed occurred within the one-year warranty period, yet the company refuses to fulfill its commitment, leaving customers deceived and unsupported. Offering the customer a free fabric shaver, which was their attempt at resolving the issue, is missing the point and frankly insulting given the price. A piece of furniture covered in fabric that is in fact durable, “pet-friendly”, and “meant to withstand years of memories” should not degrade at this rate with limited use and the following of their care instructions. “Normal wear and tear” should not occur with how infrequently the daybed was used. The fabric is very clearly subpar, which is mostly likely why it is no longer available as a purchase option for the daybed. I’m sorry Joybird, but you failed to live up to your word. Do better.

Subpar sofa quality and poor customer service
Customer service issues:
I initially ordered two sofas in early November. One of them shipped on time but the other was repeatedly delayed, despite assurances that it would not be, so I canceled the late one. No one answers their phone line. Emails are often answered days later and seem disjointed with prior emails. It’s almost like starting over again with each encounter.
Poor sofa quality:
- The biggest issue is that the sofa I did receive (Hughes twin sleeper) has almost no padding on the armrests. I avoid using them because I’m sure the fabric will wear quickly and unevenly without proper padding, plus they feel boney. There’s no point in laying on the couch since the armrests are too uncomfortable to rest my head or feet on them.
- I had to prop up the front feet because it feels like I’m tilting forward when I sit in the couch.
- I had to purchase a cover for it because the upholstery looks cheap and I don’t think it will wear well.
- This was not worth the money, even on sale. I really regret this purchase.

Disappointed and angry
I’m so disappointed and angry. My Joybird couch is nice to look at but sooo uncomfortable. The seat cushion is like a chenille-covered cement block and it pokes up on one end, about 2 inches. I’ve complained to Joybird twice and both times they told me to fluff the pillow and massage the stuffing. Well, the pillow is solid, hard foam. There’s no stuffing, there’s no filling. And I’ve told them this both times. They still act as if it is my fault instead of a badly made seat cushion. I asked Joy Bird if they would take the couch back and not charge me the return fee because it’s not my fault that the couch is defective. They sent me an email telling me they were sorry they couldn’t refund the return fee, because it just needed to… have the filling massaged. I am really really angry. This couch cost so much money and is so uncomfortable and hard to sit on. And by the way, did I mention there’s NO filling? I want the full amount that I paid ($2600!!!) back! And I am never getting another Joybird.

"New" couch with tear repair
The couch was purchased as a Christmas gift, presented on Christmas Day. A couple days later we noticed what looks like a tear repair on a cushion.
Because the couch was purchased on sale,no mention of blemishes, we were told we were past the 14 day claim period. Even on sale, it was very expensive and represents the quality and customer service of Joybird. I will never recommend or purchase Joybird again.

Do not waste your money on the warranty
I purchased a pet warranty which has been a total sham. The warranty company is difficult to deal with and is refusing my latest claim. Joybird is 0 help. I paid extra for pet / stain resistant fabric and the couch already has set in stains the warranty company could not remove. Overall, really disappointed in the experience given the amount of money I spent.

Three kids, two cats, and a dog
I wanted to wait a few months to review our new sectional to see how it held up. I just cleaned a couple spots today using water with our Little Green Machine and they came right up. I’m thrilled with the fabric. The sectional is gorgeous and so comfortable. The only problem is the Joybird messed up my order in store and forgot to add the warranty. I contacted them as soon as I realized the mistake and they refused to add the warranty despite us only having the couch in our home for a couple of days. Considering it was their mistake, this was frustrating. Five stars for the product and two stars for the customer service.

This dog bed completely fell apart…
This dog bed completely fell apart about one month into having it. The zipper keeping the foam surround in place totally detached (not from wear and tear, more like it was attached incorrectly). So disappointing for such an expensive dog bed.

Avoid Joybird, terrible quality, NO support.
Bought a leather sofa from Joybird, delivery took 3 months longer than promised. Inside 1 year the main lower crossbar cracked, bottom cushions went flat, back cushions fall down constantly. It's now uncomfortable as hell. Called for support, same old story - since we bought it on sale, they're not offering ANY support. This was never disclosed at time of sale or I would never have bought it.

Bought a sofa during their Black Friday…
Bought a sofa during their Black Friday Sale. I went into the Manhattan showroom to make the purchase, and not once was it mentioned by the salesperson that the item was a clearance item and there was going to be damage to the sofa. Lo and behold, there are damages to the fabric that are totally unacceptable, especially for a sofa that costs over 2K when on sale. I tried to replace the sofa, but since it's a "clearance," nothing can be done. I am distraught with the quality of customer service and the item. Please be careful not to order anything ready to ship on sale since you are purchasing an item that "could" be damaged!

Great couch, terrible customer service
I got a great deal on an Eliot Convertible Sofa during the Labor Day sale, and now that I have it I'm very happy with it (aside from a couch leg that was completely scratched to hell, but I'll get to that later). However, my experience with customer service online was terrible. I ended up having to place over the phone because of website issues. The woman I worked with was helpful, but she double charged for my order. It took me 2 business days to finally get in touch with someone to get this straightened out. While I was placing my order, I was told that I could delay my delivery until November (I placed my order in early October), but then that wasn't an option. Instead I had to schedule my delivery for the day I was picking up keys to my apartment. Well, the delivery showed up before I was able to get the keys so they couldn't deliver it. The delivery team from Lay-Z-Boy was very communicative, which I very much appreciated, and said Joybird would reach out to reschedule, but they didn't. So I called again, and after finally getting through to someone I was told there was an extra $20 charge because my apartment is on the 3rd floor. I had already paid $130 for shipping and "white glove" delivery. I asked for the fee to be waived considering the issues I've been having, and I was informed that because I was receiving my couch at a discount that this wouldn't be possible. I was finally able to reschedule the delivery for Nov. 16th and I had keys this time, but I ended up helping the delivery guys move the couch in myself (I'm 5'7" and 125lbs btw) because they didn't have the stamina to make it up 3 flights of stairs. After they left, I noticed the one couch leg was scratched really badly, but I'm just going to try fixing it myself because I don't expect customer service to do anything.
I wrote a similar review on Reseller Ratings, and Joybird responded saying they wanted to help. However, when I followed up it was nothing but radio silence.
This will be my last Joybird purchase, which is a shame because the couch is great. It's just not worth this hassle.

Disappointed with the quality
It’s a beautiful couch but the quality is not great. Very disappointed that I spent so much money on a couch that is already falling apart. The seams are coming apart. It’s November and I got the couch in August. I had a $900 couch that lasted 5 years. This was $4k couch that’s falling apart after 4 months??!! Never buying from this company again.
