I can’t believe it!!

I can’t believe it!!. I bought two pair of their Ghurka pants that did not fit me well. I called them an hour after reviving the items and was told they were non returnable items. They were NOT sale items. This is horrible. NEVER buy from them… James L

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service, horrible communication. I am a regular customer that spends with them regularly. I had 2 out of 4 dresses in this order that did not fit me well and wanted to have them keep credit on my account so I could use it in future. Ana, the customer service rep was so unhelpful,not willing to listen, not accomodating, repeating policies like a parrot. Watch out!!!!! No problems when you have to buy but BIG PROBLEMS if you have to exchange or return for last sale items.

Don’t buy from them

There is no doubt that J Peterman has become the WORST online retailer in the world! It’s descriptions and photos are inadequate. It’s customer service people know no more than what is in the catalog. For instance, they can’t even tell you the inseam length on a pair of pants. But most important, it is impossible to get a REFUND. After a month of battling with them, I finally gave up and filed a dispute with Visa for a refund. And when I told them, they didn’t even seem to care. It was as if that is what everyone has to do to get a refund.

Shoddy packaging resulted in item being…

Shoddy packaging resulted in item being damaged upon opening (inner packaging was glued to outer packaging). Return was rejected without consideration for their failing, and the fact that I've been a frequent buyer, and trouble-free customer until now. For the quality and uniqueness this company represents, they FAIL FAIL FAIL and I will never buy from them again. Tell your friends not to get screwed by these creeps.

Ordered 11 shirts... got charged for 11, received 2.

Ordered 11 shirts, paid for 11 shirts. A small package arrived. Had 2 shirts. A partial order, or back order? Nope. Packing list showed 11 shirts shipped, so I saved the small envelope. Called the company and asked for the shirts. Nope. Substitute other shirts? Nope. Among the worst customer service I have ever received. Peterman rides again? Off to the sunset, maybe.

Be wary of quality, and lack of returnability from Canada

I used to buy from J. Peterman in its original incarnation (decades ago now), and recently decided to purchase 2 x 2-packs of their "Military Tee". Unfortunately, the items were not like the photos in the online catalog (and not in a better way, in my view). Calls/email to Customer Service received, respectively, a "Sorry but tough luck" and a non-response. AND--J. Peterman does not pay for returns from Canada! As well, since they also are not set up to have taxes prepaid, I would have to deal with the USP (fees/duty paid) on my own. Suffice to say it's not worth the cost/effort to return from Canada. Taking these two issues together--I am finished with J. Peterman!

Yes, THAT J Peterman!

Yes THAT J Peterman! I was shocked to find them online. The descriptions are still Seinfeld-worthy. Now for the clothes. I recently ordered two dresses and a cardigan and could not be more pleased. The dresses have princess seams, good quality fabric made of natural fibers and are fully lined. I had all but given up on finding affordable clothing made to high standards. The cardigan is properly designed for a woman's figure: small across the shoulders and back with ample fabric to drape over the bust. A good cut makes all the difference, crisp lines make you look taller and take 20 pounds off. If you don't believe me, order a dress from J Peterman and see for yourself.
Jan 26, 2023 Update: If I could add another 5 Stars I would. I needed a copy of the receipt and could not log on to the JPeterman website. I contacted customer service online, and within a few hours they had texted me a link to my receipt. Exceptional service and am over the moon about the quality.
