Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 38 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found customer service unhelpful and difficult to navigate, often spending hours on calls without resolution and repeatedly explaining issues. Consumers also faced significant problems with payment processing, including delays, account lockouts, and transfer difficulties, leading to frustration and inconvenience. However, some customers also noted concerns regarding the bank's handling of fraud and disputes. Several reviewers reported that the bank seemed to favor customers in transaction disputes, even with merchant evidence, and some felt its dispute resolution process was unfair. Others experienced accounts closed or compromised, feeling the bank did not adequately protect them in such situations.

Chase Sapphire Doesnt Work for Consumers

I made reservations for Caesars Palace with SNAP TRAVEL on 8/9 -8/10/2021 using my Chase Sapphire card. I arrived a day early. Caesars was to charge me for one night 8/8 and I already had a reservation with SNAPTRAVEL for the 9th. When I got home I saw Caesars charged me for 2 nights, one of them being the 8/9 that I already had reservations for. I called emailed to no avail- filed a dispute with my credit card company since I used the same Visa for both transactions & what I got was a letter stating the double charges were legit and stand... Ive filed with the BBB Chase didnt even look at my claim. How can you say being charged by the hotel and the booking company for the same night was legit? Worst customer service bank ever!! they could care less about their customers.

ATM Outages

I live in New Orleans. Following Hurricane Ida, for some reason it is almost impossible to find a working ATM in my neighborhood. I have called once to complain but it’s an ongoing issue still. There is no reason for there to be lines 8 cars long because only 2 of 4 ATMs are working and then after the wait.the machine says “unable to process at this time”. Called Chase again…..wait time to speak to someone was 15 minutes. Unacceptable. They obviously just do not care.

Old, slow and Unreliable

Not only is the backend old and slow, the front end is terrible. If you get a charge back on a card you can't find it, they made 20 or so categories for that.
Their buisness model is not very attractive. Cant reccomend.
I heard local credit unions are a thing but idk.

Oh and they had "bugs" where individuals had +/- 50 billion on their account. Ya know, just as they get the ON RRP for a few hundred billion over night. Totally a coincidence

Lootering of foreigner's bank accounts by JP Morgan Chase

The next stage of the Covid pandemic has already begun.
The looting of foreigner's bank accounts.
My account with 1500 US Dollars has been suspended by JP Morgan Chase. I can't access my account anymore online or travel back to the US to get my money back. The US government of course supports this procedure. Over 30 complaints have been filed with the CFPB and they ignore the case.
Banks will start now to use the Covid travel and border restrictions in order to freeze bank accounts and withhold the money with the support of financial regulators and governments.

Stick with a UK bank

I’m trying to engage with Chase on their app but it is useless - why anyone would want to open a current account with them defeats me - don’t waste your time - stick to uk banks

ABSOLUTELY,POSITIVLY DO NOT TAKE A JOB AT THIS SO CALLED FRIENDLY COMPANY. I WAS HIRED THER IN 2016 AND MORTGAGE LOAN CLOSER. THE TRAINING SUCKED. THEY CONSTANTLY CHANGE THE POLICIES. AND AS A MORTGAGE LOAN CLOSER THERE WHICH I WORKED FOR (3) YEARS AND WAS A GREAT PRODUCER SENDING LOANS TO TITLE COMPANIES. LIKE 25-30 PER DAY. THEN THEY TRANSFER TO A TEAM I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AND WAS NOT PRODUCING AS I SHOULD. THEY SUCK FOR RELEASING ME. THEY TREATED ME LIKE S@#$. THEY WILL TOSS YOU AROUND LIKE A POKER CHIP AT A CASINO. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF GETTING A HOME AND COULD NOT GET IT BECAUSE OF THEM. MY WIFE IS DISABLED. NO INCOME NOW. JAMIE DIAMON THE CEO IS ONE BIG PIECE OF S@#$. PERIOD.

Not the worst bank ever, but not good by any stretch of the imagination

Everything started off fine for the first 6 or so months, then the fees started rolling in. First I got hit with a $34 overdraft charge while my account was well above zero, turned out to be a “rare system error” that “shouldn’t happen again”, but they apparently can’t reverse the accidental charge because the system won’t let them. (I call bull[crap] on that one) Next came the 100$ fee that they somehow can’t tell me what it is. Followed by a 20$ processing fee for a purchase I made at a Canadian retailer. And the list goes on. Mind you, none of these fees are reversable according to their support people. The agents were nice but firm about it. Somehow their supervisor was always out of the office or unavailable. Their credit cards are, to be frank, lackluster. Nothing special, just your run-of-the-mill credit card. Savings accounts are unusually confusing.

Pros
- (Mostly) Freindly support
- Nice interface with few bugs
- Monthly fees are easily avoidable as long as your not broke as f(udge)

Cons
- Excessive hold times on the phone (2-3 hours on average)
- Weak security
- Debit card PIN can only be 4 digits—should be able to set 6+ digit PINs
- Below average credit cards
- No customizeable debit card designs
- Beware the hidden fees

6/10 – If you have a choice, go somewhere else. If not, you’ll survive

I wish there was a less than 1 star…

I wish there was a less than 1 star review.

I am completely astounded by the lack of accountability this bank demonstrates. As the intermediate bank between St. George Bank in Australia and the smaller U.S. Bank, they are deliberately withholding funds recovered from a fraudulent scam customer of the beneficiary bank, without explanation.

Despite numerous communications from my bank asking for an explanation as to why they are continuing to hold funds that they have no claim to, they refuse to provide any information and don't even have the courtesy to reply to an email or answer a call from St. George Bank.

Shame on you JP Morgan! To you the amount of money in question is minuscule, to small business, it's a matter of survival.

I recently sent an international wire…

I recently sent an international wire transfer. My bank used JPMorgan as an intermediary bank. JPMorgan decided on their own to ignore the wire transfer content which specified that the wire remain in US dollars and changed it to Canadian currency. It took 5 WEEKS to resolve this conflict and JPMorgan tried to charge me the difference. Their customer service is terrible.

Online questions never really answered.

Contacted JP Morgan online re a few simple questions and re setting up an account and had to clarify myself three times. Still did not get an accurate concise answer from them. My questions were not that profound. Finally stopped my application process and stayed with Fidelity.

NO customer service!

Chase "customer service" is now non-existent. I needed to file a dispute, but none of the options to check during the online process fit my situation. In the past a customer could send a message via their web site. No more. So I called, and having had to enter all sorts of information (more than once), a person finally answered. I had to repeat the information still again. Then she asked if I had another Chase card. Yes, I do. She wanted THAT number plus the 3-digit security number on the back of THAT card.

I do not carry a balance on either card and always pay BEFORE the due date. I'm sure they don't like that because they can't charge me the exorbitant interest rate! I'm exploring getting credit cards from other companies.

Before investing your hard earned money…

Before investing your hard earned money think well, my experience with them was bad and don’t think they deserve to get any rating at all. It is just unfortunate that there is no option for no rating. They act so unprofessional with trader clients and in the end they milk you more and more till you’re dry. That was my experience with them and it really affected my financial stability. I invested because I wanted to make profit from my fund but the reverse was the case.

I will never visit the branch in…

I will never visit the branch in Peabody, Massachusetts again. The manager is careless and arrogant, she has no clue how to manage an office. Upon entering the office, someone immediately asked me for a form of identification, I handed them my Spanish passport, and they assumed that my preferred language was Spanish without even asking me if I was comfortable speaking English, which is a racist attitude. The customer service at this branch is appalling, please don't waste your time bringing your money to this office, as the staff doesn't deserve to have a job.
