Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 38 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found customer service unhelpful and difficult to navigate, often spending hours on calls without resolution and repeatedly explaining issues. Consumers also faced significant problems with payment processing, including delays, account lockouts, and transfer difficulties, leading to frustration and inconvenience. However, some customers also noted concerns regarding the bank's handling of fraud and disputes. Several reviewers reported that the bank seemed to favor customers in transaction disputes, even with merchant evidence, and some felt its dispute resolution process was unfair. Others experienced accounts closed or compromised, feeling the bank did not adequately protect them in such situations.

They monitor your accounts for fraud…

They monitor your accounts for fraud very well. The freedom card has gotten me 2 100$ gift cards in 2 months and a 50$ cards as well. This bank may have political issues but that aside protects your accounts well.
They approve your credit card in 10 mins if you Have an account usually for 4k to start. I didn't use a credit cards for 2 years and my credit history disappeared. But with the freedom cards i was able to build up my credit rating back to where it was in 2 months and all my history came back going back as far as 1989.

JP Morgan Chase Banks completely failed

Out of state chase bank had fraud person come into bank to withdraw money from my savings and the On the ball teller asked some questions and the scammer was stopped in their tracks. At that point the teller froze my account called me to tell me what happened and that she froze my account Exc++(+++++) chase associate. Called her and took her advise on how to proceed. Then 3 weeks later in a different state that was not the state I reside in another scammer attempted to withdrawal from my account to the amount $$$$$.$$ This time the tellers totally failed to exercise any care caution and protect the customer and banks reputation. This time my account had ALERTS and that my account had been compromised and a password was put in place so that scammer had to know answer to obtain my money. Well the brainless teller not only gave my money away but because of their lack of concern, care, responsibility motivation never proceeded in a responsible fashion and just gave my money to them, Off they went with my money $$$$,$$ The rep at bank in state I live in Sat down with me to discuss the matter and said they were called HQ to inquire if bank was going to cover my loss, I said no your calling them and telling them that the fricking bank is 100 percent responsible for the loss and will be reimburse me or my attorney will be next person they talk with. Before I left the bank the rep escalated the case telling me that the bank will be reimburse me for every red cent. What the matter with today associates how in the name of God do these useless people survive. Many Bank tellers are low educated persons and no degrees required, Just good background report and credit report. No brains needed and the training methods are not intended to protect the customer or banks money, reputation and so on. Resolution is not to change banks cause all the banks are insured and associates are low pay, low educated and zero to slim motivational skills. One more thought some of the bank associate may be part of the identity theft ring, teller pay is low and money is tight so a good background check of bank associate is no guarantee that they won't go bad.

extremely poor service

extremely poor service. I transferred money to JPMorgan Chase from another bank account and they're saying it's going to take 5 days. Whereas my other bank has already released the money within a day of request...it seems like the people working here are very lazy an extremely slow at the work or they didn't hire enough people to do the work....poor management. am planning to cancel my account in JPMorgan Chase very soon and I would not recommend anybody else to open account with this bank

Don't accept customers with this bank

If you are a business don't accept customers if they use this bank as we had a customer dispute 3 months of payments and they gave her all 3 when she was only eligible for 1 month as our policy is 30 days refund.

Disgusting behavior on the bank

This is about Washington Mutual the bank JP Morgan Chase bought. We paid mortgage insurance for the 10 years we had our house. When my husband died and Bank of America took his account, the mortgage insurance I'm sure did pay the bank off. The bank resold the home anyway for 3 times the original price. \PEOPLE HAVE FORGOTTEN WHAT MORTGAGE INSURANCE IS FOR. THE BANKS MAKE A KILLING ON FORECLOSURES

This is a ZERO STAR review.

This is a ZERO STAR review.
Small business account fraudulently tapped for a $30,000 wire transfer.
Cleaned us out.
Money has disappeared.
Chase left 2 phone messages alerting us to the transfer as it occurred.
They went ahead and sent it anyways without ever speaking to my partner. Unbelievable.
Even more unbelievable? Less than a week before they froze the same account for a $1500.00 purchase for materials that they thought was suspect. Made me physically come into a branch office with 2 forms of photo ID to unlock the acct.

And now today they are denying our claim of fraud for the $30,000.
Lack of accountability, suspect wire transfer and total denial of responsibility.
Do not walk away from CHASE.
Run!

Retaining money without saying a word

This bank is acting as an intermediate bank for money transfers between Wise and TBC Georgia.
A money transfer initiated 6 days ago has still not reached my account and I had to question my bank today to find out that JP Morgan are retaining my 50,000 $ because they need the transfer to be documented.
I can fully understand that they need to know where the money is coming from and going to BUT I cannot understand why they do not communicate on this. If on the 6th day I hadn't asked any questions, the situation could have lasted for weeks maybe.
This is how banks like JO Morgan get rich: They use clients money for as long as possible under cover of compliance requirements.
Clients just have to shut up and wait. What seems to be perfectly normal in the bank system would be called malpractice in other fields of activity.

All the questions were answered today and I still have no sign of money on my account.
Wise should choose their partners better because clients can eventually get exhausted of being victims.

Terrible customer service for business accounts

Terrible customer service for business banking. Avoid this bank at all costs. We switched from SVB to this Bank thinking we were going to be in better hands, it turns out their customer service is worst than dealing with government agencies.

I spoke to Falak on 29 March and he was absolutely amazing! I have a new phone and was having some issues with the app's verification process. I've spoken to a few people at JPM over the last few weeks to help me resolve the issue and they were all really helpful but Falak really went out of his way and exceeded my expectations. He literally went through every step with me and was prepared to stay on the phone with me to assist me with the process. The matter has since been resolved and my app has now been verified. But I'd just like to say a massive thank you to Falak - you were so patient and assisted me with my issue at great lengths!

Chase Deposit Runaround

I've recently received the runaround from Chase on a simple deposit via personal check written on TD Bank, from our own TD account - it has plenty of money in it, and TD Bank is not a small-time operation. We made an identical personal check deposit of $17,000.00 to fund a new savings account 2 weeks before, and that money was available the next day. When we deposited a personal check for $3800.00, 2 weeks later - same way as the 1st one, that check was put on hold for 10 days. We went around with the banker we opened the account with, demanding a written explanation about why this check was on hold, and the higher amount wasn't put on hold. What was different? His response was "due to compliance, we can't answer that question in writing". When asked exactly what the Chase rules for deposit were, we got the same response. Verbally, he told us their "security algorithm" decided on whether to place a check hold or not. I spent a whole morning of my time proving the personal check for $3800 was legitimate. We normally deposit via ACH, but we know there are some payments that will be made to us via check that will need to be deposited into Chase accounts. This is nothing short of ridiculous. We have a Chase mortgage, Chase credit cards, both have 800++ scores, and net worth of 1M. We had great luck with Chase when living in Colorado 7 years ago. When we moved to Maine, there were no Chase branches here, so we went with TD for savings, checking. But oh how things have changed at Chase now. Never have we had a check deposit put on hold at TD Bank - and our accounts there are 7 years old. Not willing to waist my time again unraveling a simple check deposit. I'm not down with Chase operating on our float either. We don't run our finances on a whim, I don't expect our bank to run theirs on a whim either.
