I initially took my 2019 Honda Monkey to Kais to have a few jobs carried out (to have a new set of fork springs installed, to replace the brake pads, to have a new rear sprocket fitted, and to have the wheels changed - I supplied ALL of the parts). Whilst I was there I was asked if I was interested in having the forks cerakoted (I agreed to have the yokes done in satin black). A week or so later I had a phone call from Kais telling me that they couldn’t cerakote the yokes (they’d already removed them by this point). I agreed to take the yokes away and have them painted elsewhere. When I returned the yokes to Kais I asked them if they could also install a new set of rear shocks for me (supplied by myself).
They agreed to this.
A week or so later all work was done.
I collected the bike not long after. The bill was higher than I expected (it took several emails to get a copy of the invoice which doesn’t show a complete brake down of prices for work carried out).
When riding the bike home one of the bar end mirrors almost fell off. SO DID a cable clamp which was attached to the one of the front forks.
AND
The front brake lever now pulses when braking at low speed (it never used to)! I don’t know why it does now?
AND
I was not given any offer of setting up or adjusting any of the settings on the suspension (the new front fork kit AND the new rear shocks are both FULLY adjustable). I did mention when I was there that they felt a bit too firm!
AND, THIS IS THE PART THAT LED ME TO LEAVE THIS REVIEW............
A week or so after I got the bike home I decided to adjust the handlebars.... THE 4 CLAMP BOLTS THAT SECURE THE HANDLEBARS WERE BARELY EVEN NIPPED UP!!!
After discovering the loose clamp bolts I’m going to have to take the bike to another garage to get the rest of it checked over. I don’t even know if it’s safe to ride right now?
NOT HAPPY AT ALL AND WONT BE RETURNING!
