I only gave one star because I had to…
I only gave one star because I had to so I could write a comment . My fiancé had his mortgage with them initially they took two months of the mortgage payment out on in one go initially . He continued to pay as normal never missing a payment for anything in his life at 36 years of age . They are now leaving Ireland and he went through the switcher process and it has been a shambles since , we had his solicitor involved in the mortgage switch to keep everything above board . One mortgage payment was missed and they contacted him claiming they would have to take things further making very serious accusations . He then tried and tried and tried to get a letter of redemption to pay the arrears and nobody would give him the figure or how to pay them …… finally he recieved a letter with the redemption figure with no indication how to pay , he rang again they informed he they had 7 different accounts ………… after numerous phone calls trying to pay the figure our solicitor has now advised him to go to the ombudsman to report the issue ….. our solicitor also won’t take anyone that has anything to do with KBC anymore as he is having so many problems with other them … appalling customer service , appalling system . The sooner they leave Ireland the better
Unbelievable
Asked to close the credit card account on December 2nd. On December 15th they debited the remaining balance and the stamp duty on my current account, all good. On December 19th the same transaction (except the stamp duty) was applied for no reason! We are talking about 700 Eur per transaction, not 2 Eur, so I found myself down about 700 Eur for no reason. Luckily I had some savings otherwise I could have been left without money for no reason. I called their (useless) customer service and they asked ME to write a letter to fix THEIR mistake. I did it right away and I've been waiting for 2 days for their mistake to be fixed. We are in 21st Century: how on earth should I write a letter to fix an OBVIOUS, HUGE mistake of the bank. It's a transaction that should be reverted in 2 seconds in a normal organisation without the need of extra paperwork, etc. This seems a joke, it is simply ridiculous. Thankfully they are leaving the Irish market.
STUPID CUSTOMER SERVICE
I will rate zero is there is a ZERO. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO TERRIBLE. I found out an unauthorized payment of around 800 euros but they cannot even solve it. I am in the UK and I need to travel to Dublin just to solve these cases for around 5 months. Through phone, the customer service or the one who picks up the phone makes me feel like they don't even have proper TRAINING. NO ONE KNOW WHAT TO CHECK OR TO DO, THEY JUST SIMPLY GIVE ME A YES REPLY WHEN I ASK HAVE THEY RECEIVED MY LETTER, BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE DUBLIN OFFICE, THEY TELL ME NO THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A UK LINE WHICH IS I NEED TO TOP UP AND TOP UP JUST TO SOLVE THIS CASE.
Very bad customer services and…
Very bad customer services and policies..STAY AWAY
TROUBLED..PROBLEMATIC..UNFRIENDLY
Very poor customer experience.
Filthbags
Filthbags.
They need to settle their bills before they pull out of ireland
Not really Happy :(
Not happy with the Online Services of KBC Bank.
Its not really Customer friendly in terms of getting Bank Statements as you get Quarterly E-statements. Atleast The E-Statements should be generated on the fly in the 21st Century Banks.
The mobile App also needs lot of improvements for a user to easily locate things.
Well, thankfully KBC bank is leaving the Irish market.
Can't complain
Moved to this bank cause previous bank was introducing high fees, I've hadn't much to talk with them but they seemed very nice.
I've never had a problem, they offer what they say, a low fees current account and a decent app.
It's a pity they'll close soon
Terrible
I once visited KBC to deposit money in my account, only to be told that they were running a "moneyless bank". It's my own fault for sticking with them after that, they've given me nothing but stress since the day I signed up. Completely unreliable. I'm signing up for another bank.
Terrible experience - leaving to another bank
Terrible experience.
I purchased a laptop from Dell.com and it was declined by KBC. The laptop cost €2,600. Yes that is expensive but I saved for it and all this money was in my KBC bank account. In fact I had €20k in my account.
I called KBC and they said they don't allow purchases over €2,500. I asked them to authorize the purchase because it was me speaking on the phone. They said no. You are not allowed to spend that money.
I had no choice but to transfer the funds to another bank and then purchase the laptop. I will be closing my KBC account (they're going out of business in Ireland anyway.)
Do not open an account with KBC if you ever see yourself needing a large purchase. For example something for the home: furniture, car, appliances etc.
I would recommend KBC for simple groceries i.e milk, bread, vegetables etc. but you need a backup account just in case.
Completely untrustworthy.
DO NOT EVER GO NEAR THIS BANK...TOTAL…
DO NOT EVER GO NEAR THIS BANK...TOTAL WASTE....THEY DO NOT EVEN GIVE U A LOAN OR A MORTGAGE... ALL THEY DO IS WASTE UR TIME BY LENGTHY CALLS ETC
I hate everything about this bank.
The worst bank I have ever seen.
THE WORST BANK IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD
I was trying to open a teen account. I did this online and I sent in all of the information that they needed to know but they kept asking for more and more informations for days. After a while they went silent and there was no sign of my card or my account being opened. I was onto them every single day for over 4 weeks to get them to actually do something about it and it was only after countless emails and phone calls and being passed from department to department that I got my account sorted but ended up having to wait a further 3 weeks for the card to arrive in the post. It was 3 months in all for me to have the account up and running.
It is a terrible bank and you can't even lodge cash at the bank. The only option is to go to the post office and get a postal order and then get that lodged and it takes a few days for them to even do that.
They charge almost 50c for every single transaction. The customer service takes hours to get a hold of and when you're on the phone to them 1 person promises something and it never appears and the next acts like it was never said. They also act like they really don't want to be there and it is very clear from this that KBC obviously do no treat their staff very well.
It is for the reasons above that I am going to have to close the account and advise one and all to avoid them like the plague
Really good current banking and low fees
No issues with app at all. It takes a while to get used to but all the functionality such as sending money is a doddle. Never really had to call customer support as I've had no issues. I've been with KBC for more than a year, it's a shame they're likely to leave in the future so I'll have to look for a new bank.
The absolute worst banking app and…
The absolute worst banking app and online portal I've ever experienced. Total trash. Simple tasks, like getting an interest statement take half a day. The security implementation is a nightmare.
The worst to deal with
The worst to deal with. Penalised for having covid, stopped my card and the lies of their complaint team..if anyone told those lies out there, they be arrested immediately. The customer service is horrible horrible, put you on hold for hours without resolving anything
Not being able to view or pay into your…
Not being able to view or pay into your mortgage account online is a huge disadvantage over other banks. It's a real weakness & would not recommend this bank to potential customers. They are also hard to deal with if you have an issues, customer services make you jump through loops & constant looking for more info after already giving it to them. Always register any post as proof they did get it.
