Life-threatening defects with Keeway X-Light 125 – Dealer & manufacturer ignore everything

In May 2025, I purchased a new Keeway X-Light 125 motorcycle from an official authorized dealer. Since then, the vehicle has not been usable for a single moment and was defective from the very beginning.

Already during the very first use, a life-threatening incident occurred:
Due to a faulty tank ventilation system, extreme pressure built up inside the tank. When opening the cap, it exploded off and hit me in the face, resulting in a laceration above my eye. Fuel vapors also escaped directly into my airways. Had there been a spark nearby, the situation could have ended fatally.

I immediately informed the dealer. The response: weeks of waiting and not a single apology. After an alleged repair, I received the motorcycle back – now with new, serious defects:

The battery was completely dead immediately after switching on the ignition

The check engine light stayed on constantly, even while the engine was running

After a few minutes in idle, smoke with a burnt plastic smell emerged from the engine area

The odometer suddenly showed 0 km again, even though it had already shown 2 km before

I then formally declared my withdrawal from the purchase contract – on time and with clear justification. I demanded a full reversal of the transaction, since the vehicle has been unusable and dangerous for nearly two months. But neither the dealer nor Keeway responded in any way. Complete ignorance.

Conclusion: I paid €2,598 for a so-called “new vehicle” that is technically faulty, unsafe, and unusable from the start. The injury I suffered and the smoke from the engine clearly show: This is not just poor quality – this is a serious safety hazard. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer takes responsibility – they simply disappear.

Clear warning: If you're looking for a safe, reliable motorcycle and working customer service, you should absolutely avoid Keeway and their authorized dealers.

Got this bike last year and I've had 12 months of problems. First the engine died (lose conector), as it was a new bike, I tried the warranty. The dealer said they could look at it if I got it there, but I could be in for a large bill if not covered.
As it did not run and I have no way to transport it, I asked the best way to get it the 100+ miles to be told to push it!
This was just the first of many problems( metal left in the engine from factory, miss aligned rear wheel, incorrect setup on front suspention, water getting into the fuel, and could go on) all with no warranty back up.
After 12 months I only have a few more issues to fix and now starting to enjoy riding it without the worry of can it make it. With new tyres, correct suspension and both wheels pointing the same way, if is a fun little bike with a good motor, just put together by monkeys.
