Not Good

Took the children fine then we asked if we could pop in and see them after a couple of hours.
We were told we had to pay £18 to go in or come back half hour before they had to go.
While I think the place seems great for kids they just don’t seem to realise parents might like to check their children.
Absolutely shocking lack of care on their part and for the money you would think that they may actually understand how parents my be with their children.

KidZania an impressive experience!

KidZania is an impressive, educational experience.

You enter into a mini city and are hit by hustle and bustle. Every type of job is covered - deliveries, air conditioning repair, space exploration, stage performances, vet etc. We walked around to get our bearings but didn't waste time worrying too much about which activity to do as they are all fun and a great taste of grown-up life!

It helps if you go prepared:
- get there early to maximise your time and the kids' energy (it gets busier around lunch time)
- have snacks on hand as there are queues for the popular experiences, though there are also cafes inside
- be a bit strategic about the activities you choose! Some have shorter waiting times and only last a short time e.g. shop assistant in the supermarket, so mix those up with the longer activities e.g. TV news presenter that have longer waiting times for a longer activity.
- Earn more Kidzos by picking short, quick earners (there is a board that tells you how much you'll earn)

My kids loved racing about exploring the city and pretending to be a hospital surgeon, fashion designer and bread maker among other things. Some activities are age restricted and my girls (5 and 7) decided to do everything together so there were a few things they were not able to do but are excited about going back for!

Their hard earned Kidzos buy them small gift on the way out (e.g. bouncy ball, pencil sharpener), my girls wanted something bigger so I told them they have to work hard to earn more Kidzos next time :)

Will not go back

I went with my four year old, he enjoyed the experience. However as a mum i strongly believe the four hours time slot its not fair and certainly not enough. I found myself having to rush from one activity to another with massive queues in most activities meant that a lot of the time was taken there. I feel the staff would need to be a little more proactive, friendly, sometimes just smiling to kids helps - most of them looked really grumpy! My child likes to normally go back and retry something he likes, in this case he was unable to do so due to restricted time we had to run to the following activity. They refuse entry if past your time slot.
i would highly recommend to either extend the time slot or remove it completely, i doubt anyone would stay longer than they need to so why have a restriction?? - It is not a cheap day out so let parents take kids to a place they like without restriction. I will never go back all due to time restrictions, the staff and choice of food !!!!

Recommended

I’d read some reviews that were absolutely awful. I had already bought tickets and started to regret it as it was for my daughters 8th birthday.

We arrived for the 10am Saturday morning session. There were obviously no queues to start with but by 12 the more popular experiences had a queue but I can’t say we waited more than 15 minutes and that was for aviation.

In our experience the staff were great, really engaged with the children and one lady in the vault even sang my daughter happy birthday! Wish I’d gotten her name because my daughter will remember that for a long time! We managed to do everything my daughter wanted to do and a little more.

We didn’t eat here but the food smelled lovely, I can’t comment on the price as I didn’t pay attention.

A little recommendation would be to have a timer on the experiences so you have a rough idea at how long you might have to wait. I think I’m super busy times this would help you to be able to organise yourself better.

The things you can buy at the end are a bit rubbish, those could be much better and the people serving were really uninterested and looked and sounded bored. I felt like my daughter was an inconvenience to the lady showing her colleague her nails. I also think that the price we had to pay for the adult ticket was too high, hence the 4* rather than the 5.

Overall, it was a really enjoyable day for my birthday girl and I would recommend kidzania to my friends and family.

No compassion - they're like machines without hearts

My Swiss friend took his 5 year old twin boys but as they didnt speak English, naturally they couldnt enjoy it and left immediately. Asking for a refund they were told no refunds but can use up to one year later. There was no way those boys would be able to enjoy it a year later as they had only just started school so on their behalf I emailed asking if on this occasion they could show a little compassion and refund the tickets and if not then at least let the tickets be donated to my charity (which helps children living on the streets in India) to sell at auction. Their reply: he signed the terms of agreement which states no refund and non transferable. Such a cold reply makes one shudder that such people exist

As a single father I went for my twins…

As a single father I went for my twins birthdays mid week during Oct half term. The ques outside were moving at a good pace, then check in was a bit manic but also moved at an ok pace. Once inside I was a bit lost as to what to do as it was my first time there. there was no map as far as I know and I was advised by another parent that has been a couple times that there is an app that has a map on it. I don't really want to download an app that requests loads of permissions for my information for a one time visit so I didn't bother as that would burn my time there. the activities were mainly fun, some boring so we didn't do a lot. we only managed to do 5 activities in our 4 hour slot. the Kidzania money thing is a bit of a joke, its a good idea and the kids enjoyed earning money but the cost of the items on the way out were unbelievable! you get 50 Kidz money and have to earn money per job or pay to do activities. so you get paid to be a police officer but have to pay to become a fireperson? this really doesn't allow them to earn enough to buy a pencil or a rubber on the way out? some really cheap tat cost 250 kidz money? so the kids were very disappointed on leaving. we also got a credit card in the kidz bank which we thought they could earn interest on but this didn't happen and some card readers were broken and they couldn't get paid into their accounts or pay for activities? if it wasn't for the few (just hired staff that understood) they would not have been allowed to go in the activities. a lot of the uniforms were really worn out and looked like old rags and the helmets were tattered and the wrong size.
overall the twins had a fun day and I was knackered as there wasn't many seats for the parents to sit while the kids ques up. Oh and the ques, oh my day... the longest one we queued for was 35mins for Cadburys, the 25mins for Fire person and 22mins for Police so be prepared to wait for the popular ones.

Kids loved it but very expensive

Kids loved it, we went to the London Kidzania, it was excellent, but very very expensive. It was definitely a treat, we couldnt afford to go often, our group cost £160! the kids loved it but we were all exhausted by the end, and the rewards at the shop were pitiful for how many kidzos they collected. Its an amazing experience, but the cost was very steep. Excellent idea, and kids were amazed, but if it was cheaper we would go often.

Kids loved it

My kids had an absolutely terrific time. Bizarrely, they both absolutely loved being parcel couriers over and above being firefighters. Clearly they have an eye for efficiency rather than danger.

There is so much for them to experience. Queues were not an issue for us. And I thought that the food for the adults was quite reasonably priced, relative to other attractions.

Would highly recommend.

one hour and children not done one activity !

My children had wanted to visit for over a year but £75 for 3 children this had to be a treat. The advertisement looked well worth the money so we booked for my nieces birthday. I did know that you couldn’t go in with your children unless you bought an adult ticket but presumed there would be a cafe outside the area that you could sit in and they could come out if they needed you. When I arrived I was told to leave my children and come back in 4 hours. I questioned if there was anywhere close by we could sit but was told an adult ticket would need to be bought. I was pondering about buying a ticket and was told by a member of staff there was no point as I wouldn’t see my children anyway as they would be busy moving from one activity to another. They told me they would call me if my children needed me. I felt reassured they would be fine. They were handed some money and a hair net and was told when they entered they could choose which jobs they wanted and earn more money to buy things. They were told people were around inside to explain things. I wasn’t really clear what the procedure was from the explanation but the member of staff said they would know what to do when in there as people are around to help.
I left the children and within an hour and 10 minutes I got a call from my daughter who was using kidzanias phone saying she wanted collecting as they had been wandering round and queuing but it actually done anything or understood what they needed to do. Obviously the member of staff must of heard this but didn’t then say they could help or explain to me what was happening, in fact they didn’t even get on the phone. I collected my children straight away and was fuming we had drove an hour and a half, paid £75 and my children had not done 1 activity in over an hour. I spoke to the assistant manager whilst there and he offered me to go in with them for free but my children had had enough as they had spent so long walking round not knowing what to do that they were disappointed and wanted to go home. The assistant manager would not give me a refund even though he could see the timescale my children had been in there, he offered for me to return again. I explained we live too far away to visit again and would like a refund but he said this would be no. I e mailed when I got home and was told about a whole procedure in regards to the job centre, people in bold hats that my kids could refer to all of which my children had no idea about. I wanted to raise this further and still awaiting a call back but looks like I wasted £75 for my children to wander around alone for over an hour !!! Think it is very unfair that you can take people’s money for a services you don’t receive!

MoneyZania - £10 to comfort your child

Today my little one was invited at a birthday party at KidZania - London. The host kindly offered to take my little one without me needing to join (more on this later), but my little one told me that she would like me to be around in case she needed mummy since she didn't know the other kids at the party. And indeed one hour into the party I got called because my little one was a bit upset and needed some mummy's comfort. I was at a nearby cafe and I rushed to KidZania, where a very rude bouncer told me I was not allowed through for "security reasons" because I didn't have a band. I told him that my little one was at a birthday party inside and needed some comfort, and after two-three minutes of very uncomfortable questioning about who I was and where I wanted to go I was finally let through the main entrance. I then navigated two floors up to the "check in" area where again I was denied entry for "security reasons" which will soon be very clear. I called the host and she brought my little one to the check in area where she expressed the desire to have me at the party since she was feeling lost. At this point it should have been quite clear to everyone that I had a legitimate reason to be in and I legitimately was parent of a child within the play area. Thus there should be no "security reasons" preventing me from going in. Nonetheless I was not allowed in and my little one was forced to go back in. I was told I needed to purchase a ticket for myself for £10 before I could be be allowed in. Thus it was not a matter of security but simply a matter of making a bit of money over a distressed child. It took me further 5 minutes, going back one floor down, to get a ticket and finally be reunited with my crying baby who was missing her mummy. If they can't understand the need for a child to be comforted when in distress this company has clearly no interest at all in the well being of the children they host, they are simply in the business of exploiting kids to make as much money as possible.

If you can make sure do not host your parties there, as every person I interacted with during this event clearly showed that there is no interest towards the kids or the parents, but just about getting money out of your pocket. My husband was waiting outside in the meanwhile and discussed a bit more with one of the check in people which was quite mean to him. After that he got approached by another dad telling him that he had to wait outside during his little ones birthday because they only allow one adult in, all the others have to pay. So unless you pay further extra, one of the parents will miss their child birthday. I'll make sure to let all my school know this interesting policy before they decide to hold their children party there.
