I’ve been hosting with Kinsta

I’ve been hosting with Kinsta, and the experience has been consistently disappointing.

They’ve had multiple large outages, some lasting hours, and every time it happens they seem more interested in passing the buck than taking ownership.

There’s never any meaningful explanation, never any accountability, and certainly no compensation for the downtime their customers are left dealing with.

The final straw was when I asked for contact details for their CEO so I could escalate my complaint. I was flat-out told *no*.

If a company won’t even allow a customer to escalate a serious issue, that tells you everything you need to know about how they operate.

If you rely on uptime and expect a hosting provider to stand behind their service, look elsewhere. Kinsta isn’t it.

Way above and beyond! But what's new with Kinsta Support. :)

Dean did an amazing job. Our site had stopped performing and the cause was not at all obvious. He could have told me to "go talk to the plugin developers" but instead he found a work-around that got the site up and running and gave me the information i needed to help the plugin developer fix the problem. Additionally while we were talking he answered all my questions about our sites performance. What a great experience!

I regret not making the change to…

I regret not making the change to Kinsta sooner. It's 555x better than any hosting I've ever used, everything is so seamless, the traffic handling is out of this world, and the support is unmatched. Whether it be AWS or anything else, there's absolutely nothing better than Kinsta, I feel so comfortable here, anything I can think of to support/fix my wordpress backend is immediately ready.

A must-have for serious WordPress

Kinsta saves me time, money, and headaches with best-in-class hosting and real technical support. For the price, it's much better than saving a few dollars elsewhere. I returned to Kinsta after trying many different managed WordPress hosts. I came back because I could cancel a bunch of plugins I used to make my experience more like Kinsta. I was spending money to save money and getting a lesser result. WordPress can be complicated, so working with a host that can make problems disappear is worth it.

Security hardening done right

Huge thanks to Nikola at Kinsta. We needed to finish origin hardening on our platform and he delivered: POST-only rate limiting on login/register/reset, explicit edge/CDN cache bypass for auth pages, and an origin method allowlist. He explained each step, tested from a non-allowlisted IP, shared headers/logs as proof, and escalated when needed. Zero downtime, zero guesswork. Exactly the partner you want when security matters. Nikola was also totally cool with me bringing an AI checklist—he followed it, improved it, and shipped results.

Here’s one thing the vast majority of people are simply unaware of:

⚠️ Every single site on the internet with a login and password field is under constant attack.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Fortune 500 company or a small community platform—bots, brute force attempts, and bad actors are hammering away 24/7.

That’s the world we live in online.

And here’s the kicker: the difference between a site that stays safe and one that doesn’t often comes down to two things—solid infrastructure and a responsive support team.

🙏 Today I’m reminded why having the right infrastructure partner matters.

SurfersConnect.net is still a young platform, but when you’re building an ad-free, community-first social network for surfers, security and uptime are non-negotiable.

This morning, I was working with Nat from Kinsta Support, and once again they showed me what world-class support really looks like:

✅ They didn’t just say “everything’s fine.” They spun up a temporary admin account (safely, via the CLI with auto-deletion) to verify our response headers live.

✅ They confirmed protections against brute force, clickjacking, and oversized requests—going beyond the basics to harden our server stack at the NGINX level.

✅ They closed the loop with screenshots and confirmations so there’s no guesswork.

This isn’t the first time Kinsta has had our back. A while ago, when I panicked over a DNS outage (while at the height of a bout of Covid to boot), they tracked it down to a server in Mexico City—something that wasn’t even in their scope. They didn’t have to help me, but they did.

That’s the difference between “a hosting provider” and a partner you can trust at scale.

As a founder, I’ve learned:

👉 The small, behind-the-scenes wins—like NGINX-level security headers that enforce HTTPS-only connections, block clickjacking, and prevent code injection; brute-force protection and login throttling; request filtering that drops oversized or malformed payloads before they touch WordPress; and DNS/DDoS safeguards built into the stack—are what give your users confidence to stay and grow with you.

So today’s big wave of gratitude goes to Kinsta and their support team—especially Nat—for proving once again that the right partner doesn’t just keep your site running. They keep your mission moving.

They Made the Impossible Possible

I recently migrated my main domain and large eCommerce website from GreenGeeks to Kinsta, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my business. My website is massive, with thousands of products, and I was genuinely worried about the migration process. But Kinsta’s support team made something that seemed impossible absolutely effortless.

From the very beginning, their team handled everything with professionalism and precision. I opted for the Express Migration service (which I paid extra for), and it was worth every cent. They took care of the full backup, migration, and complete configuration without a single issue. The communication during the process was clear, fast, and reassuring — I always knew what stage we were in.

Once the migration was complete, the results were beyond what I expected. My WordPress Dashboard and website front-end are now 100% faster — and that’s not an exaggeration.
