It's not just poor service

It's not just poor service, it's deliberate fraud and theft! I have already written a thread on this, but want to start another one because it simply goes on and on. I booked a flight for my Ukrainian daughter, who was living in Moscow, at the start of Russia's invasion. The flight was cancelled immediately. They took my money and then, pretty much straight away, I got an email to say the flight was cancelled. They refuse to refund the money, claiming they have no control over what happens in Russia and I paid their Russian office. There is, of course, no customer service: One phone line that is never available. I have help from the ECC who have contacted KLM several times and tried their best (unfortunately, they have no power to actually do anything). In the end I agreed (through the ECC, KLM have made no attempt to contact in all that time or to respond to emails and WhatsApp messages) to take vouchers in place of a refund. That was 3 weeks ago and I have still heard nothing from KLM and I very much doubt I ever will. Looking at the lost of complaints here, it's clear that it's time to take legal action and have these thieves locked up, or at the least stopped from 'trading'. If I start a Patreon account to bring a case against KLM, would anyone here be willing to support it?

Missing my bag

Missing my bag, checked it in in Hamburg. Were it’s last seen.
Had a stop in Amsterdam and then to Nice.

Last flight kl1263 to Nice.

Filled 3 form’s online. Haven’t heard anything yet.

Tried calling but can’t get through.

This is now 2 days ago. Were is it. What to do

KLM airlines are fraudsters

KLM airlines are fraudsters. Honestly buying a ticket is not a child's play for some of us. I live in Europe and i have family in South africa. We have a bereavement in the family and so since this happened here in europe we decided to fly our brother to come for the memorial. Everything needed was arranged, invitations proof of income they asked for utility bills which i gave them. One look at my brother from one of the supiriors of KLM in OR Tambo INTERNATIONAL Airport in Johannesburg he said i dont like this guy and that was how he was left behind. All documents were in order he was about to be let off to fly before this guy came and disqualified him. With no reason, i called immigration thinking maybe they refused him in but they claimed to not have his name. They did not know anything about him. Im pained over the money i paid for the ticket, no refund no Compensation what kind of people are you KLM? WHO does that i want my ticket money back. Called the KLM asking if they can alter the dates and let him fly on another day they said it is not possible i know i have to top up the ticket but telling me that its impossible is what made me write this review. My brother has a carrier, he was not allowed to fly because he is a first time flier to abroad. I am pissed off this business you running do not run it to dupe people money

My flight Brussels > Sevilla

My flight Brussels > Amsterdam was cancelled and replaced by another one, so I had to wait 6 hours in Amsterdam. Then, I’m going to the queue for boarding to Sevilla, and the company Transavia (KLM Partners) says I have no place reserved. I had made my réservation on February 8th. Transavia charged me 246€ and 227€ for a flight I had paid 4 months ago!!!! And KLM doesn’t treat my request, so maybe I’m gonna have the same problem for my flight back!!! I felt humiliated, lost, and really really angry that the team of KLM Amsterdam’s airport didn’t find a solution. It’s a shame and the Last time I’m taking a flight with this company.

KLM AFTER CARE SET VERY BAD STANDARDS AND FAIL TO ACHIEVE THEM AGAIN

We flew from Glasgow to Amsterdam/Dusseldorf May 12th, the flight out was ok nearly on time. We got a water and biscuit both flights, crew seemed pleasant enough. Our return now, we were delayed for 2 1/2 hours that caused us to miss our flight. We now have to wait almost 7 hours in the airport, we went to the desk and the woman said we will give you a drink? The lady clearly had no idea what was going on, I was beside her outside the fencing as my partner waited to be seen. She helped no one, folk going to Helsinki etc and lots off our delayed flight. I was not shocked as the service or lack of was appalling lots of folk standing to be seen, plenty staff 2 or 3 speaking. I have previous with this company, they took £1500 cancelled all my flights and laughed in my face. I got nothing back what an absolute disgrace, you know you never attempted to help. This is shocking service, staff had no idea what day it was at the help desk, and as usual stern faced and very unpleasant. Firstly if you book with them do not expect any after care they are a joke, secondly you might need to change all your plans. Am I surprised, my partner booked these flights for my birthday, think about driving or get another company they are arrogant, cheeky and the most useless staff I have dealt with. They don't help take your money and give you nothing. The only reason I gave a 1☆ was to be able to post this, we got nothing. Still sitting in the airport, not my choice of company I would not even give anything but a truthfull write up, but it gets you no where be warned travellers.

KLM malicious 'customer service' agent errors devastated my holiday

Back in October 2021 I booked a flight trip via KLM for myself and my three young adult children for the holiday of a lifetime to the US to commence in July 2022. When managing my flights with KLM agents I have experienced significant issues - the root cause - service agents not speaking or being able to understand english and I can only assess as maliciousness which resulted in the huge error of total cancellation of all my flights, a subsequent refund -which means KLM customer care will not rectify this error. There is no immediate redress to rectify issues and no complaint process only a compensation process which takes up to 60 days. Everything is channeled through one phone number which has horrendous wait times. Impossible situation.
Context - to ensure I got the best possible service for my trip I booked fully flexible/refundable flights - Comfort+ provided by the KLM partner Delta. I received multiple changes to the flights from Delta but combined with notification that I could change the flights if these changes did not suit. On 22nd April I called the KLM service desk to adjust my flights due to the changes made by Delta being unsuitable for my plans. The service agent did not speak good english or was a poor operator of the KLM systems or behaved maliciously - probably all three.
My objective was to change the timings of the flights and to remove one leg of the multi leg flights. This appeared to go ok and the adjusted times etc were confirmed with fresh email notifications. What I didn't know was the agent in parallel requested a full refund for my flight which meant this successful flight change meant nothing as he simultaneously cancelled all my flights and he requested a refund made to my bank account! I had only requested a refund for the single leg I no longer needed but apparently KLM does not issue refunds for single legs. This was not stated in my conversation with the agent. He cancelled everything despite having rebooked all the flights the way I wanted and sending email confirmation. How he could possibly have thought I wanted to then cancel them I cannot imagine.
On seeing this refund enter my bank account I phoned KLM customer service on 11 May - I was informed that as I had received a full refund all my flights had been cancelled. I explained I only wanted to change timings and to cancel one leg of the multi flight booking and the agent on 22 April did not act to my wishes to devastating impact. KLM customer service informed me that cannot help me as the refund was made and I cannot have my original flights back. I can make a request for compensation which will take 60 days. I was on the phone for two hours - 30 mins waiting and an hour and a half trying to get appropriate assistance. The agent stated they would speak to an expert to see if any other actions could be taken and then hung up on me.
I am now faced with making a fresh booking at enormously increased prices, lower class level/comfort level never mind experiencing horrendous stress. Due to the extra flight costs of 1554 euros I no longer have enough money for my holiday. The shock and subsequent anger I experienced has made me ill. All due to a malicious KLM customer care agent.

they said that it was a NO SHOW

my daughter was denied boarding on a KLM operated flight from Venice because ground staff refused to recognise validity of Kenyan visa on my daughter's passport. Denied request to speak to a supervisor. missed my flight on a 700 dollar ticket. Ground staff was not only uncooperative, rude and incompetent but also acted in bad faith and entered a NO SHOW log on my ticket. KLM customer service most unhelpful. no accountability. I am still stuck in Venice after three days trying to get a new ticket issued without recourse

KLM cancel your flights at short notice and don’t fully refund !

We booked flights Glasgow to Muscat last year with this airline. Our flights were changed which did not suit our requirements. We cancelled which was an option offered by Klm. We did indeed get a refund. But not a full refund. We were over £200 short. I have tried contacting them but kept hitting a brick wall. I decided to let it go but have now thought about it and no it’s my money not yours. Pay us what’s rightfully ours. Don’t keep some for yourselves. I don’t plan on travelling with KLM again this isn’t the first time they cancelled on us and they tend to do it at very short notice. We had to rebook with Emirates which cost us more but we couldn’t diss appoint our grandchildren just because our flight was cancelled. Come on KLM pay up and we can put it towards our next visit

What a great professional airline

What a great professional airline. I didn't think that loading the aircraft by zoning customers would work but it worked so well and we got off on time. The staff were great and looked after us well. Pity Birmingham Airport didn't care so much when we landed.

Worst customer experience EVER!!!!

Worst customer experience EVER!!!!
I had flights booked with KLM to fly home for Christmas. I paid for the flights and received an email confirming my reservations.
However now when I look at the KLM website it says that all flight segments have been cancelled.
Whilst this is very unfortunate, and possibly not uncommon at this time, I have not received any notification from KLM to tell me this!
To check what I was seeing was correct, I rang the KLM customer service number and was told by an incredibly rude "customer service" representative that I don't have a flight any more and to speak to my bank to find out when the money would be refunded.
No sympathy! No empathy! No apology for the inconvenience! Nothing!
When I asked if KLM notify customers of flight changes or cancellations so they can make alternative arrangements I was told, "it's not my job to do that, speak to your bank to get your refund"... Then they disconnected the call!!!
Unbelievable!!! What a disgrace! I neve even mentioned the refund on the call, all I wanted was to get a flight home for Christmas!
Without a doubt the worst customer experience I have ever had! And looking at their Trustpilot score and reviews, it seems this is pretty standard service for KLM!
Appalling! Won't be booking with them again!!!

Impossible to reach out the customer service for 2 days now and the answer for my question is not on their website. From this revenue they are generate on us, customers, would be so great to get back some value: They could at least pretend that they care about their customer experience and hire more employee to their call centers. DONT LOOK CHINESE WHEN YOU FLY KLM. Wear a big mask and big sunglasses. Ms. Zhang Liang Yu was asked for a Singaporean QR code at check in. She is Chinese from China and had no idea what that was about. She asked the customer service rep to call me and explain to me. The service rep explained to me that to fly with a transit through Singapore Ms. Zhang needed a QR code which she should have gotten from ESERVICES.ICA.GOV.SG I quickly went to that website. It is for Singaporeans and Singapore residents. Twenty minutes or so later, I inform Ms. Zhang and KLM staff that Ms. Zhang is only transiting though Singapore on KLM, and the Singapore airline/airport explicitly state that there are no requirements for people transiting with approved airline (KLM is on that list). I took a picture of that statement and sent it to Ms. Zhang to show the KLM customer service agent. She was assured, no problem, phone calls had to be made though, but just wait, don't worry, no problem, she will be allowed in, etc. just wait, relax, and then she is told she is too late. She has to buy a new ticket for the next flight, a week later. Ms. Zhang looks Chinese because she is Chinese, born in China, with a Chinese passport. This does not make her Singaporean, no more than blond hair makes you Canadian when you fly through Toronto. Except maybe if you fly with the racists of KLM

Dreadful service

I received a voucher for KLM as I could not fly last year during the height of the pandemic. Instead of insisting I got cash refund, I let them persuade me to accept a voucher which expires on the 31st December. I now wish to book flights for next year to Germany. I have spent three periods of 30 minutes waiting for an agent to speak to me and each time the call terminated. Direct customer service. KLM put more staff on your lines so you can deal with queries your customers have.

Would not fly again. They do not seem to put much importance in customer service.

I flew with KLM on Saturday and unfortunately my bag was lost. I was told it would come the next day but it didn't. It has been IMPOSSIBLE to contact anyone at KLM about this. The number they give on their site is for the local third party company who KLM employs to handle baggage, while KLM seem to pride themselves on having their customer support mainly on social media/WhatsApp. I do not use social media or WhatsApp but I had to download it to try and contact them. Message them on WhatsApp and you get a chat bot, which (eventually) told me it was transferring me to a live agent. That was 13 hours ago and still nothing.

Klm and schiphol

Today after 3 hours on airport schipchol being sent from gate to gate (original b26) my luggage was not checked and on final this made me miss my flight kl1355. Now need to buy another ticket and accordingly to this crappy airport no refund and new ticket costed more than 6times of original one.

I lost many expensive stuffs from my luggage from Paris to Warsaw. The flight was delayed and someone got time to open luggage and steal things. Please be alert! Trying to contact the customer care no response. I always used to fly in Emirates. My bad luck I choose this time this stupid airline.
Please take care of your valuables from check in. You cant trust their staff.

TERRIBLE AIRLINE. Terrible customer service

I would give this review zero stars if I could! I’m a blue member with KLM but will never use them again. They’re a dirty shower of bast**ds. I booked my flights to Munich months ago for a wedding this weekend. I was due to fly out tomorrow morning at 6:30 and received an email this afternoon that my flight has been cancelled. No explanation why. They then reschedule me to a flight the following day. As I need to get to Munich I had to pay €300 for another airline but zero care given by KLM. I spent 45 minutes waiting in line to speak with an agent and eventually had to hang up. Zero effort made to compensate or help out. They have no interest in helping the customer. I’ll never book a flight with them again.

AVOID!!!

This used to be a great airline, but I am very disappointed by my recent interactions with the airline. I canceled a refundable flight and received 1/3 of the money. Customer service on the phone is extremely rude and just makes up lies. That was the last time I booked with KLM!!!! NEVER AGAIN
