Great Company - Fun Trip
The company worked hard to make the trip what our group wanted. They planned an amazing trip!
The bad side
I scheduled to take the Apr 2025 knitting tour of Ireland a few months ago, but now - more than 6 months out - have to cancel.... and have been told they cannot return my 1000-plus Euro deposit!!!!!

All the planned visits were fantastic…
All the planned visits were fantastic and the timing was good. WE were busy all the time. It was nice to have some time to ourselves though and we all enjoyed the free time to head out and shop with our new friends.
Well-designed tour
Well-designed tour with great hotels and great knitting instructors. Included meals were very good as was transportation between venues. Pace of the tour was comfortable.
And Shetland ponies too!
Very well planned knitting tour to Shetland and Scotland offering variety of shopping experiences (unique yarn shops), cultural ( local museums and historic locations), and great knitting classes (Fair Isle, lace knitting, and using knitting belt, a traditional technique), even meeting Shetland ponies! Food was excellent and very plentiful. Excellent guide offered many bits of information as we travelled and worked very hard to make sure our trip was enjoyable and stress free. Bus driver very personable and was extremely expert negotiating narrow roads with our comfortable coach. The pace was brisk but we did see everything we were supposed to see. I would have liked to have had a meet-and-greet with fellow travelers when tour began as we hit the ground running!
This tour exceeded all my expectations!
This tour exceeded all my expectations. Amazing guide, great activities, and awesome food. Would give it all the stars in the universe!
Extremely Pleased Return Customer
The staff at KnittingTours.com are incredibly and professionally responsive, from initial inquiry through post-travel follow-up with regard to tour arrangements. The tours themselves are amazing, providing high-level comfort in accommodations, food, and travel (via luxury coach). This was my 4th trip with KnittingTours.com. Workshops, mini-tours, and excursions during the tours provide a balance of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and historical/cultural experiences. A highly knowledgeable guide accompanies each tour, providing historical and cultural context to the experience, as well as skillfully managing logistics for the group. I highly recomend their tours and look forward to more myself!
Fantastic tour!!
The tour was conducted extremely professionally, creatively and smoothly. The designers at the workshops were very knowledgeable and instructive. I had a terrific experience.
Worthwhile Shetland experience
Excellent knitting workshops. Beautiful scenery. Great guide, Kirstie.
I would recommend knittingtours.com…with no reservations!
I would recommend knittingtours.com with no reservations! My recent trip on the Shetland tour was excellent. Very well organized with each days schedule made clear the evening before and photographed. The hotel in Shetland was clean but dated. But not many places on the island can accommodate a large group. The food was excellent including local meat and produce. The classes were excellent and I learned things that will change my knitting going forward for the better. I couldn't have asked for a better, smoother experience. Memories for a lifetime! Our guide Kirsty was a delight. Knitter and history teacher!
My amazing trip
The trip was amazing. The tour guide was a fountain of knowledge about Ireland. The coach driver was also amazing. Most of the accommodation was very good, the workshops we did were very informative. I would definitely do another and recommend these trip to others.
This tour was wonderful
This tour was wonderful. Jane, our tour guide, made sure that we were well taken care of and we learned a lot about Ireland as she shared with us on some of the longer coach rides.
Noel, our driver, managed to ease that coach through some very tight places. He was always upbeat and cheerful when we were around.
Edel MacBride is one of my favorite people. Even if you weren't a knitter, she kept you entertained with her stories and experiences. Her husband Peter, is a lovely person and kept the yarn flowing!
All of the people in the shops and studios were friendly and entertaining. I loved them all.
The hotels were lovely and I felt totally pampered. I carry a picture of my sister with me when she can't actually come in person. I put the picture up somewhere at each venue. Then I photograph it and text it to her. When I returned home, I realized I had left it behind. I emailed the Killeavy Castle Estate hotel and they had found it! They mailed it right out to me!
I loved all the sites we visited. I'm a country girl, so I couldn't really appreciate the wonders of Dublin. It was so busy, I was quite intimidated. So I'm really glad Jane and Noel were there.
As for the food, it was wonderful. I was the only vegetarian, but every place we dined at had options that I could eat. In fact, I ate a little too well. I'm still trying to take of the four pounds I gained. The only thing I might like to have seen, and this is not a criticism, would be an option for a salad. But, I was fully satisfied!!
I had a wonderful time and will always remember one tour guide's comment which was repeated over and over: Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!
Great all around
All arrangements went as planned and very smoothly. I especially enjoyed learning about Irish history from our guide as we drove to the various experiences.
Fantastic time had on our recent 10 Night South of Ireland with Aran Islands Knitting Tour
We had a fantastic time on our Knitting Tours South of Ireland trip (Dublin, Galway, Aran Islands, Killarney). We loved every minute of it. Tour guide Anne Marie, along with driver Paddy were so informative, and entertaining (and hilarious)! From start to finish, we were very well taken care of!! We were satisfied with the accommodations (eg. Camden Court Hotel in Dublin is a perfect location for getting around Dublin, and The Lake Hotel in Killarney is located in a peaceful, picturesque setting). Our breakfasts, and meals were splendid! We enjoyed the early starts for our day trips, which helped avoid crowds. Eg.The Cliffs of Moher are spectacular! The knitting workshops were informative, and especially loved the Carol Feller workshop!!!
Note to non-knitters (husbands, friends etc). Husband Steve thoroughly enjoyed himself. During knitting workshops there’s plenty of things to do and visit!! So do not hesitate!
I am already making plans for Knitting Tours (Barcelona '25), - and either Knitting Tours Ireland Part 2 or Scotland springtime of '26

I am confident in recommending this group
This tour was very well organized, with lovely lodgings and an outstanding guide and driver. I was very impressed with how the team navigated around unexpected circumstances. When my scheduled flight was changed, they arranged for the driver to transport me directly to the group activity so I didn’t miss anything. Weather prevented us from going to the Aran Islands, but they arranged super alternate activities. I was so impressed by their service that I have already booked another knitting tour with this company to visit Scotland.
Book it!
Barcelona, November 2023. Easy to book. Excellent communication. Luxury transportation and hotels. Full itinerary. Friendly, helpful, professional and responsive tour guides. Everything one could want in a tour!
Barcelona 2023
This was Knitting Tours first trip to Barcelona, and mine, and it was so well organised and delivered, I had a wonderful time. The balance of knitting, sightseeing and other events was great and the hotel accommodation and staff at Hotel Seventy were all superb.
Our tour guide, Anne Marie Hayes was exceptional both in her organisational ability and knowledge.
Thoroughly recommend Knitting Tours and this trip in particular.
5 BIG shiny stars
I think having the basics all correct is the start to a good trip. The venues were well researched, the timing from one event to another all worked. It seems like a small thing but with out the basics of the trip being correct nothing could go right. I too if a well organized and executed trip the professionalism friendliness of the Tour staff and designers made the trip extra special. This is my second trip with them and I’m already looking for the third.
