Ford Tourneo Problem

Ford Tourneo, You’re driving down a street and come into traffic jam or slow moving traffic or let the engine idle for any reason and all of a sudden an alarm goes off and a message comes on the screen overload. To clear drive some distance. This has been happening for a few years. Having been driving the car for six or seven years and driven probably hundreds of miles to clear the emissions problem, there was a small advantage, it never stopped the engine. Having recently had a letter from fords, I phoned Lancashire Ford for advice and when I asked what it would cost me it was quoted just over £103.00. After they received the car after collecting it from my address the next day they told me that they had looked at and it would cost me over £500.00. I have had the faulty part replaced at a cost of £521.40 but that was because of it being a faulty part, but according to Lancashire Auto there was no issue with this model of car. To me this smells very bad considering the bad feedback Ford is getting for having faulty part recalls. Because of this problem the car has only been driven only 17.000 miles from new and the part that was replaced was Sensor Hego whatever that is. The reason the mileage was so low was I have access to two other cars and used them most of the time because of the problems driving this car from new, it never liked to be started in the cold weather. Although I kept having new batteries fitted it stayed the same, I hope fitting this new part, and it may start better in the winter if I still have it. I only kept the car because being disabled could get in and out quite easy. I have been using this garage for around 15 years and think they need less office staff and more mechanics. The repair was graded at 70 out of 100 was because they had been in the fuse box and lost the catch to keep it closed. There is another very nasty thing as i have never found my service book as i always kept it in the glove compartment.
