As someone who backed Lance Glasses' 2019 campaign on Kickstarter, this is a WARNING to any potential backers and customers.

I implore you, read the many negative comments by past backers on their previous project on Kickstarter before buying anything.

These guys will happily take your money today and ignore you for months and months tomorrow, should you need a replacement part for your glasses like I did.

It took Lance Glasses nine months to send a replacement frame, without even confirming that they would even do so at all. That's NINE MONTHS of waiting, not knowing if they will ever send them at all. Lance rarely respond to any messages, via email or via their own support ticket system. That complete lack of any basic communication with Lance meant, of course, having to buy new glasses.

During those months of waiting for their response, Lance mostly ignored my many polite messages and sometimes provided absurd, ridiculous responses such as "We sent Karim a reminder", after I have been waiting for a response from that person, their own employee, for three months.

Other times Lance would give an estimate for availability, such as "Mid June", then, come AUGUST, when I ask politely if there's any updated ETA, since they obviously weren't able to make the "Mid June" one or at the very least notify their customer about the delay like any reasonable company would, they don't even respond!

When a business has chain of supply issues and shipping delays, the bare minimum that business can do is to keep their customers who are affected by it informed. An informed customer is a happy custmer. Logistics issues happen all the time. That is understandable, especially during these trying times we live in.

Keeping your customers in the dark for months, however, is not understandable. Yes, even if "the replacement was sent once we had all the structure in place". It is still not okay to ignore your customers who have been waiting patiently for months.

Any response at all, even one such as "We are having supply chain issues at the moment, but I'll get back to you as I have an answer" would have been perfectly understandable and much, much better than no response at all.

This is just one very disappointed customer with a good memory trying to warn other customers about a company that is plainly just bad at the most basic building block of good business - communication.

See, now they exposed my full name publicly. Again. Against my expressed wishes. Again. Right here on their reply.

Lance Glasses, it is MORALLY AND LEGALLY WRONG to expose personal information you have on file about your customers publicly! Is this really a point that needs making in this day and age?

They did the exact same thing on Kickstarter; addressed me using my full name publicly even though I only use my first one. I asked them via private message to remove it. They ignored my message completely. I had to contact Kickstarter abuse department and report a violation of their terms, which clearly and rightfully state "Don't post personal information". Kickstarter removed the offending comment altogether within a day, while Lance Glasses couldn't even be bothered to reply to my message asking them to do so.

There's no sugarcoating it. If you are reading these words and you still see a last name in their reply to this review that means that this company, Lance Glasses, made personal information they have on a past customer public and kept it public after the fact for no other reason than pure spite.

Buyer beware!

Beautiful and high quality glasses at a very fair price, at least 2 times cheaper than comparable products on the market.
Communication with customer service could be faster, but problems are definitely solved. I can definitivly recommend Lance!

Lance is delivering excellent products with expensive parts at the lowest price in its class on the market. For the quality they offer the pricing should actually be a lot higher, like at least 2x or 3x. To offer such affordable pricing, Lance needs to build quantity and drive down their costs to make a bit of revenue and the necessary margin to stay in business. Yes, in some cases that results in customer service / communication issues. If Lance achieves excellent service without sacrificing quality and without rising prices, they'd be management superstars. For now they do their absolute best, with a few bumps along the way sometimes. Their score of 4.3 on 5 (73% 4- or 5-star) here on Trustpilot is a good indication that overall they manage pretty well.

The grain of salt is have been part of 2 campaigns and deliveries takes much longer then promised so order with caution.

I backed the Lance Air kickstarter and the glasses are superb. They are as light as a feather on my face and that really matters to me. My old glasses are pretty light, 27 grams, but these are about half of that. And they look stylish while providing a great range of vision. If I had niggles it would be that upgrading to very thin lenses (well worth it!) and customs charges added $90 to the cost. Still, I would and have recommended these to everyone.

Backed both the Lance Glasses and the Lance Air campaign. I bought two pairs per campaign and am superhappy with them. The nano tech is great and the fading lenses work really well too.
The Lance Air is so light you barely notice you’re wearing them (14 grams).

Delivery on the airs took a while but not a big deal. Will definitely back a new Lance project if it comes up

I backed Lance Glasses on kickstarter for the Nouvel with prescription lenses and the sun clip. The shipment was delayed a few months but in the end it all came trough and Lance did a great job handling the new European laws for customs!
Both the glasses and the sun clip are extremely well made and I didn't have any problem with the prescription lenses, overall it is an excellent product!
Also Gonzage and Cristina made sure to answer all my doubts in a promptly manner. I couldn't be more satisfied!

I have 4 pairs of Haussmanns (Smart and the Ace&Steel) and they are really stylish.
I would say the quality is also good except for one of the Ace&Steel pairs which had it’s golden coating faded quickly in few months of normal use.
My Lance Air pair is on the way and I would expect it to even better.
Overall I would recommend Lance Glasses. They make really nice looking glasses and they go on sale sometimes and that makes them really offordable.
They worth the try.

I backed Lance glasses on indiegogo. I ordered glasses with a sunclip. The products arrived months late, but as it was a funding project and with covid going on, it still seemed resonable. The final product is awesome, pretty comfortable, really thin lenses, the sunclip after a bit of practice is easy to apply. The shipping was well orgenized through an Easyship option of UPS, so I didn't have to wait for the government to expect my package, calculate and invoice the tax, as it was previously collected by UPS, so it only took 2 days until shipment from the border (Hungary).

I have ordered my first pair of prescription glasses from Lance a year ago. For me it was the obvious choice considering the good price-point, compared to other big-brand designer glasses. The delivery was also unexpectedly fast and allowed me to solve my urgent need for a set of glasses in order to resume my daily activities (driving, reading etc.). This whole experience convinced me to acquire another pair of glasses this January, thus allowing me to treat glasses like an accessory, rather than a dull medical equipment. I have to mention that the lenses work as expected and the additional sun clip is also a great addition.

I’m a Kickstarter backer of the Air Glasses. The product was delivered behind schedule, but communication was good and delays on Kickstarter are acceptable in my opinion. The glasses are light and good quality, so I’m satisfied!

Very happy with the glasses, ordered another pair already and compliments seem to not stop coming. Great quality and price, also speedy and smooth service from start to finish! Would definitely recommend Lance Glasses! Thank you, never taking my glasses off!

I was a bit concerned about sending away for prescription glasses. I received them and they are great! Wear them all day everyday.

These are hands-down the best glasses out there. The attention to detail is magical, from the sexy slick design to the materials, quality control of the frames and the premium lenses. They look special in pictures and once you have them you can feel they are. On top of all that, the customer service has VIP treatment out of the box. Customer for life, thanks Lance!

I recently received a frame from lance with screen lenses and I am very happy with the elegant design!...I cannot comment on the screen lenses since it is my first time using screen filters but overall the frame/lenses are great!...

Very easy to find and order what you want. I went with free delivery which is slower than the rest and it arrived in a few days after being made. I really didn't expect the glasses to arrive so fast. Everything was perfect.

I already have one Lance glasses similar model to this one Steve Smart. I decided I should buy another pair when my dog jumped on me the glasses fell to the concrete and I stepped on them with my dog in my hands, together we have around 130 kg. I was sure the glasses would be crushed but to my surprise nothing, not a warp not a dent even the lens didn't fall off. Oh and they look amazing and are very cheap compared to shops in my country. Will buy again
