Do not buy

Do not buy.
I paid over a year ago and still haven’t received anything. I was stupid and backed them on the crowd funding website.
In august lance eyeglasses said they would
Ship “in a little bit”. Well it’s near the end of October now and nothing.

The customer service is belligerent and nasty. Nothing ever gets resolved

Because if this company I will never do another crowd sourcing thing.

They are the worst of the worst

I’d like to reply to the comments below.
This all start before Covid. That is just an excuse. Now they are shaking me down for more money to insure delivery.

Again-what they wrote is canned.

Also and now : As we mentioned in mailing, Facebook, Updates and Satisfaction survey, just write us on our brand new platform , mentioning your Name, backer number, platform and pledge.
The support team will get back to you in a wink with a voucher to use on our E-shop for the same products you pledged for .
We signed a contract worldwide with UPS, they ship in express depending on your prescription if you have one.

We thank you for your support and trust we ll solve quickly your issue. It is a leap of faith to bring creative projects to life.

Horrible Quality, even worse service.

Horrible Quality and even worse customer service. The glasses looked good when I received them. I had referred several others at that time. The glasses however lasted little over 7 months as the finish on the “Ace&Steel” variant deteriorated like fake jewelry exposing a reddish copper looking metal (which bruised my ears where the glasses arms made contact). How ironic they put “steel” in the name and the glasses are made of some cheap metal with a “spray-on” chrome finish which has stripped off leaving the glasses now looking like rusty metal. I have opened tickets in May 2020, sent emails, I spoke Karim, Bianca and another gentleman whose name I can’t remember. I get nothing but promises and deadlines and when the deadlines and shipping dates pass and I ask for a status update I get ignored. I tried to update my address via email, I did not get a response then so I privately messaged them on social media a couple days later where I was met with the same snarky attitude. When I asked if they had the right address the response was verbatim “OMG. we told you it was taken into account, what else do you want us to do”... BUT guess what? In August I get a message they are preparing my replacement. On September 5th I get a message saying my glasses are ready to be shipped and guess where the glasses are going? TO THE WRONG ADDRESS! So they give me Attitude In the Instagram private message (which I have screenshots of) but still end up with my glasses being prepared to go to the wrong address. As a company that is the definition of Incompetence. So for the third time I am correcting my address via e-mail. Bianca tells me she will try to correct this...fine. That was well over a month ago and that was the last response I got. Since then I sent multiple emails asking for an update because it shouldn’t take a week or a month to change a label and I have been ignored. To this day, a span of 6 months total since I opened the ticket, still no replacement glasses. When lance can’t live up to their word they start to ignore you. Lance deletes the public comments of customers who are displeased with their cheap product and ignore people who spent money and never received any glasses at all. The company is a complete scam. Marketing cheap Chinese made, knock off quality glasses as a France luxury eyewear brand. People should know this to avoid being ripped off.

Worst customer service And ok product for price

Worst customer service, rude team specially karim who blames you for a fictional dream he had of one switching the clip. Avoid at all cost. Can buy for same amount a well reputed like brands.atleast they acknowledge there short coming and try to fix it. Again do not buy. Never received the clips paid 70 cad even after being told i should have it next batch, that was last year. Now they are using covid excuse.

As per you response i have added 3 tickets already with no resolution just response from karim blaming it on my for your mistake and another which said i will get the clip, been 1 and half year but nothing. ticket #40127 Haussmann smart metal clip.

Good Ordering, Terrible Fulfillment - Caveat Emptor

While the ordering process was smooth and I appreciated assistance with prescription, fulfillment has been a nightmare.

Order placed in March, followed by multiple delays. Finally at the beginning of Aug., Lance requested an *additional* $25 to get order moved in queue. Reluctantly, I paid this and recieved tracking about a week later.

However, after nearly a month, DHL has the package, but it's stuck in their system. Reached out to Lance a week ago to follow up via their ticketing system, but no reply.

In the meanwhile, while Lance complains to backers about supply chain, logistics, and fulfillment issues, they continue to solicit new orders, which is troubling,

Good quality frames and lens - no complaints!

I ordered some Smart metal, Opera and Haussman Ace and Steel in April and received them this week, having paid $25 extra to receive them now due to inflated post costs during Covid. I've read some historic customers have had issues and hope they get theirs resolved. In my case I was prepared for a long wait and I expected them to be manafactured this month or next, based on Lance's estimates to other customers, and that turned out to be accurate. I appreciate Covid is raising costs and it was a good to update customers like me to see if we wanted to pay a little bit more to receive them now. I'm very happy, the glasses are well presented in good quality pouches, and themselves seem good build quality and design for the price, and also nice and light.

A long awaited indiegogo contribution which came to fruition

Just received my lance glasses in the mail. Ordered via Indiegogo.

Smart metal hausmman in matte paladium appearance wise looks very disappointingly very thin, cheapish and plasticky. And doesn't give good feel to touch- feels frail and plasticky. Will see in a few weeks how does it stand up to normal use. I woukd rate it 2.5 stars.

Opera in glossy black looks and feels better but a creaky hinge makes me give it max 4 stars.

Buying experience, not confidence in handling updates from lance. 3 stars overall.

Ok so I can confirm it’s not a scam

Ok so I can confirm it’s not a scam - I got my glasses, Indiegogo backer 4226. The glasses themselves are actually very slick. Lightweight, feel quality & expensive, nice case too. Ordered & filled out survey in Feb, paid extra for fast shipping (25USD) and eventually got everything I had ordered, I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. 5 stars for the product. A star gets knocked off for communication & cust service - either it was much more of a success than they expected & they just got overwhelmed with too many orders for a small team, or they didn’t have a communication plan in place or something to catch problems. Frustrating wait times, slow response, you can see in comments here it led to some people thinking it was a scam as it’s difficult to believe it takes 3 weeks to print 600 labels, I mean even with my kitchen printer, cmon. I would recommend lance over communicating in these situations - the photos help, maybe a daily update on quantities left to ship & how many are to be resolved, silence is the worst response. Just be honest there’s 3 of you or whatever & mass updates would have calmed a lot of worries. If they fix that they’ll be the next ray ban.

I cannot say how much I love these…

I cannot say how much I love these glasses! I went back and bought another pair I loved them so much.
I sort of collect glasses, I’ve got 10, out of the 10 I get the most compliments from the least expensive ones because the look so good!
Very stable and robust.

Lack of communication or Scam

Lack of communication. I sent at least 50 tickets and they only answer 2 or 3 of them and says that they are contacting with the laboratory and they never do .
I don't know if this company is scam or is a company which doesn't care their customers
I paid 11 months ago and never received the glasses

Very good quality glasses for a bargain…

Very good quality glasses for a bargain price.

Yes, I was also one of the affected by the delays in delivery, but it's understandable given the circumstances (taking a star off because of that though).

As a product, they are really good, both the lenses and frames are very well made, and the accessories (I have a felt case, a leather case and a clip-on) are also really good. Even the box in which they came in are very high quality and can be used as a case.

Despite the delay in sending the two pairs I've ordered I'm absolutely happy with my purchase and definitely recommend buying from them in the future.

Nice glasses – worst customer-service ever.

Ordered in December via Indiegogo.
"Shipping starts in January."
In March I started my first ticket.
Response: "ETA for receiving tracking number is end of March."
Next ticket in may.
Response: "ETA for receiving tracking number is mid June."
Next ticket in july.
Response, August 19: Glasses ready. Must pay some extra cost (25$) for shipping if I don't want to wait any longer.
Paid the extra cost and after a week of waiting and a another ticket the parcel was sent.

Finally, after more than 8 months, I received my glasses.

And, yes, they are really nice and (I think) good quality – but if I would know before, how long I have to wait and how many times I have have to ask to just get an update I would never ever ordered there.

And because of this bad experience, I will think twice before I support anything on Indiegogo again …

Above and beyond all expectations

I have to say that I never write reviews, however I was shocked by some of them here, considering my own experience - If you are thinking of buying, please take 15 seconds to eye-ball the below..

I have to admit that I did not expect the remarkable quality behind this product... Lance as a company is barely scratching the surface as the small fish in a overly saturated industry with hundreds of established competitors.

Whilst opening the package I was absolutely shocked to see how well finished the frames and lens were.

The frames & lens are extremely light, the clipper was surprisingly easy to click and the package composition held exclusively quality pieces.

To top it all off, I could not believe that they are so much slicker live than in the advertised pictures. This product is an ABSOLUTE bargain and you would so miss out if don't try a pair yourself.

WITHOUT A DOUBT this company is going to the moon and is already trend setting since all my friends are now asking for a pair.

Highly recommend, please DO NOT be fooled by few ridiculously sore bad reviews that complain mostly about delivery and try a pair yourself - They are simply exquisite and I am proud to own a pair myself.

Best of luck to the team which clearly spent numerous hours to develop such a quality, different and elegant product!

Small team, world crisis, yet a great product!

Lance have had their struggles with the COVID delivery impacts, but ultimately they have provided me with excellent quality glasses and sun-clips.

Their team is small, so their communication hasn't been so great. However they delivered in the end and I'm pleased with the product 👌

Customer Service

Edit 3:
I still wait for my delivery! I know, that there are some distribution problems because the pandemic. How long do I have to wait for my glasses?
I am slowly getting annoyed and regret having supported this project.

Edit 2: I did get a response. The mistake was not only on their side.
But I took long to get a feedback. I had to ask emphatically. But as it seems, we are on a good path.
I hope the glasses will be fine, as the other customers says

It took a lot of time but in the end I got a high quality product!

It took a while and at a certain point the tracking of my package went lost BUT in the end I received my glasses and I'm happy with my purchase.
They look exactly as I expected and as shown from their great AR tool. I love the elegance of the packaging
The quality of the glasses is good and the prescription was perfectly respected. This was the thing I was scared the most but they're perfectly fine, in this sense.
The customer service has always answered to my question and I never felt abandoned.
