Barking & Dagenham council promote bullying and harassment as well as discrimination in their schools and have done nothing to stop their employees from carrying such working practices, they have tried to cover up and make the complainer the one that has the issues! What is the point in having a Grievance procedure when you do not follow it and also already pre-judge the outcome weeks before and try to just brush it all under the carpet! These people are justifying these actions at work! It’s not just Supervisors, it’s managers and regional managers and also Directors that can not be bothered to deal with these issues and accepting what is going on FACT!

Please think twice about allowing your children to attend this college in Barking and Dagenham. My Diploma was deliberately sabotaged by a student turned teacher who disagreed with my political opinions. His colleague set off a hydro bomb in the workshop below our classroom, and this was done in front of young students. He also brought in an air rifle and shot dead a pigeon that accidently flew into the work shop. After doing this, he showed the onsite security operative the air rifle in the boot of his car. The teacher who taught our class failed in his duty of care to report his colleague and so did the Security guard who I recorded saying he did not want to be a snitch so it would be my word against his. I refused to return to the college and made a formal demand for a full refund, but the Principal and CEO of Barking & Dagenham College, Yvonne Kelly, has refused to take action and also refused to refund my fees. She has instead told me that I must either return to the college where I fear for my safety to retake the course or choose another course. This is very unfair, especially since I had already passed all of the online exams. As a consumer, I believe I have every right to a refund for a service I did not receive. My MP, Stephen Timms, has been ignored and dismissed by Ms Yvonne Kelly, who has refused to give me a detailed explanation as to the outcome of what, if any, investigation was conducted following my very serious complaint. The principal and both teachers involved in this case should be sacked as staff and students' lives are in danger. Do not live or study in this Borough if you can help it.
Dreadful
Reported a fault with my boiler meaning I have no hot water for longer than five minutes on the 29/4 they sent a gas engineer out on the 4/5 who told me that it was an ongoing problem with the make of boiler I have and told me the boiler company Worcester would be in contact with me to book a call out.. I still haven't heard from the boiler company and I still have no hot water.. Totally unacceptable considering I have 4 children and this is the second time this has happened in less than a year for a boiler that is 5 years old!
Useless for communication
I find the Council great unless you have to contact them about something. Then, I'm afraid the website is not fit for purpose. Telephoning is just as bad. Whether it is requesting a rubbish collection, or trying to access your account, everything you try to do is thwarted at every step. I tried to phone with a query concerning Council tax the other day and was told I was number 30 on the waiting list so I gave up. When you try to report a repair, you are so far down on the waiting list, you hang on for an hour to get through. If I stopped paying my rent, they would get in touch quickly enough. Just not good enough!!

The council need to recruit professional people who can deal with residents. It’s so hard to get hold of housing officers and the service needs to train all there staff.

Poor Council
Do not care about the people who live in the Borough its just a rip off with CPZ paying to park outside your own house. They don't clear the bins and when they do it's left all over the road. And the fly tipping is getting worse. They don't listen they have a consultation then ignore the finds if it doesn't suit them.
Signs not obvious on the Longbridge…
Signs not obvious on the Longbridge road pedestrian access, it is a money making scheme, I have often driven my car around the area, only to be given a £65 fine for contravention of the M52, I don't even know what that was.
My other issues is the CPZ imposed on River ward , which is clearly not required, and no consultation with the people, out of 2000+ residents, only 186 replied according to them, and they took that as a Yes to impose it. Why do we need it on Saturday, if it was done because of those parking illegal during the school run.
I paid almost a £1000 for my drop kerb, but I can't park in front of my house now, unless I buy a permit.
This is daylight rubbery and it should be stopped.
Another issue is with the bins, can they please tell their workers to return the bins after emptying it, it alert intruders into your house,especially if you are on holiday. It's a duty of care to their customers, we pay for it, and they get paid as well, so they are not doing us a favour by collecting it.
I just feel the council is being careless and it shows with the attitude of their staff

WORST COUNCIL EVER. They dont even listen to the poeole who live in the Borough. They do what ever they want and make up any excuses to fit their own agenda.
We pay a lot of money when it comes to council tax etc they cant even take the bins on time. The streets are dirty and we cant even have a drop kerb.

The worst London council I ever lived in.. Badly manged at all levels. First please check the parking arrangements if you are thinking to move to the Gascoigne stat new build because most of the new properties are car free developments.
I had an issue where the bins are not collected for weeks and the people have complaint so many times but unfortunately the council is so useless they can find a solution for the problem.
My advise stay a way from this council if you don't have too.

Something needs to be done, how can a council not have a direct line for the department that you need, quick to be sending fine letters out but can’t call in like any other council to solve a situation you send letters in and you don’t hear from the council for ages … very bad customer service something needs to be done because this is not right for a council so appealing! of United Kingdom, it's ran by bunch of clowns, the most unorganized and most scummiest ever. No one to speak to, no one replies to emails and not even to formal complaints. Someone really needs to investigate this council and kick them out of their office.
One of the worst borough, disgusting service
This borough is an absolute joke ! They change the road permit without notifying residents or even changing our current permit in the system to the new one which has been already PAID for and valid. I have been issued many PCN which we have complained and challenged with evidence and no response ! We tried to contact them and you end up getting a rude, stupid individual who does not want to listen neither show any sort of understanding and repeating the same rubbish all over like a broken record, then having the audacity to say ‘either do what I am saying or don’t do nothing’ when I have already told the brainless women I have done the process that she kept repeating about! There was no help at all total waste of my time, how can you not have a direct line for a department when your complaints, emails are not getting responded too within the time frame and on top getting issued constant PCN’s, where do we even go with this ? It is the boroughs responsibility to change the one that we paid in full to the new permit !! They are soo prompt when it comes to issuing a PCN, hiring ticket inspectors, sending a letter out and having many options of ways to pay ! They even have a 24-hour automated service to pay your PCN ? What about a direct line to speak to a higher member of staff at that department as no one is bothered to respond back! I am so shocked I have never had issues with my previous borough for 21 years ! This is so disgusting, a scam to rinse money from the residents as much as they can. What kind of service is this where they can do whatever they want but when contacting them it is not possible neither get any response back but when it comes to paying a fine there’s billions of options to do that. The system in place Is lazy, unorganised, rubbish staffing and just purely shocking. I can single handedly run this borough on my own and will still provide a better service than this!!!!!

Barking and dagenham are the worst council ever, they are so lazy, they don't want you to contact them, you have to email them now but they still don't reply to the emails, they just ignore it, they have been lazy since Covid, they are not very friendly, when you contact them, they are so rude and they don't want to help, their behaviour actually really is vile and disgusting, they are evil, they are scum, how do they sleep at night, they like people suffering, I hope they suffer one day and Karma gets them, they are all criminals, and they need to get what's coming to them.
Their complaints procedure is a sham
This is quite possibly the worst local authority in the country. Their complaints procedure is set up to reject complaints rather than resolve them. this is why they lose almost 100% of the time when the case goes to the ombudsman. Taxpayers money is being used to employ a team to suppress tax payer complaints. If you end up in their complaints system go all the way to the ombudsman. They reply to legitimate and polite complaints with rudeness, insulting behaviour and nonsense.
The only things they are good at is taking residents money and making YouTube videos, all other services are poor. Residents now have to pay between £350 - £450 per year to park their cars outside their own houses. This money is not reinvested in the community.
Very bad customer service!
I recently moved to LBBD and I must say they are a rubbish borough. Every time I call to discuss my council tax, I am always the 48th person on the queue and after an hour of waiting I am the 43rd! I cannot ever get through to them. What is LBBD doing with tax payers money if they can't even answer the phone?!?
No Entry ⛔️ sigh boards issue
After long time I went to the Barking to dropped my friend. And I get the PCN because that’s the no entry zone, i watched the CCTV footages, on a very Wide Road they put a little sign board with pic of Car and Bike circle around them, means no entry bloody hell. if it’s a no entry zone put a Clear no entry ⛔️ sign board. During the pandemic all the councils became looters. They closed the roads but there are no clear no entry ⛔️ sign boards and if you use that way straight way you will get penalty. It’s a Legal way to make illegal money from citizens. Shame on them.

I received a targeted PCN whilst parking on my dropped kerb outside the house that I’ve lived all my life. My whole road was parked in the same manner and no other vehicle received a fine. It just feels like this is a targeted discriminated attack, personally. I have appealed 3 times with cctv evidence and other evidence to demonstrate I live at that address and they come back saying that they are not obliged to put up signs or paint markings showing where you can park.
Is it just me or has this council gone completely insane?!?!?
Why was it ONLY me who received a fine on that road?!?! Completely disgusted with the way my situation was handled because they did not consider my evidence one bit. Also waited until the very last day to get back to me.
I will be formally complaining to London Tribunals because this is very unfair.
I’m not the one to avoid paying a fine if I’m in the wrong, but this time I don’t think I am parking on my private property. Oh and just to add, the pavement had more than enough space for a wheelchair or a buggy to freely pass through.
