*UPDATE*
I wrote my original review immediately after I was unable to log in to the webinar and could not get an agent to help me log in by email or even to reach an agent on the phone.

However, shortly after I posted my review, I received an email from a learnformula agent. After a couple more emails back and forth (including one in which she informed me that the inability to log in to the webinar was a known technical issue affecting many users, she ultimately sent me an email with a Zoom link to join the webinar. (Why the link was not provided in an email to me when I initially registered or even on the learnformula webpage after registering for the webinar, I have no idea.)

I will say this for the agent, once she was able to provide the Zoom link, she seemed more engaged. Initially, her reply email seemed scripted or canned and deflected responsibility for users (such as myself) not being able to access the webinar. Worse, it seemed to fail to comprehend why not being able to attend a webinar live was more of an issue than just "failure to log in."* Instead, she suggested that I would be able to log in to learnformula later and view the recorded version of the webinar. I had to explain to her why this was an issue (see, the footnote below) regarding CLE hours and also I had to explain that part of the appeal of a live webinar was the ability to ask questions and get answers, none of which would be available with a recording.

In any case, I was able to use the Zoom link to catch the last hour twenty of the webinar (missing only the initial 20 minutes). After that, I again contacted the same agent to inquire about receiving a copy of the written materials for the webinar (as copies of them had not been provided for download in the webinar).

Overall, I would rate learnformula (based on this experience) a 3.5. They inexplicably dropped the ball on providing the written materials, something that is very common for CLE. Worse, they had known technical issues and could not resolve them before the webinar began. Compounding matters is that the customer service agents weren't even given the Zoom links to give out to folks who had registered for the webinar until some 20 minutes after the webinar began.

Simply put, while I retract my previous statement that learnformula is a scam and would consider using learnformula again, I'd be cautious about relying on it as my primary CLE provider. At least, until learnformula figures out how to provide content to all registered users and provides customer service agents to help address users' problems in real time.

*For those who are unaware, in some jurisdictions, continuing legal education is divided into participatory hours and self-study hours. As a rule, participatory hours are only granted if the attorney attends a live seminar session (whether in person or via webinar), otherwise those hours are considered self-study hours. In my particular jurisdiction, self-study hours are capped at half of the total required continuing legal education hours. As such, missing participatory hours means it's possible that even if I finished the CLE, I would not be able to get credit for those hours, as I would be over my self-study limit.

I registered with one of learnformula's Legal Education US's continuing legal education webinars. On the day of the webinar, I followed the instructions in the email provided (click on the "Join Webinar" button). Instead of being able to joint the webinar, I was taken to the same registration page I used to register before.

When I called the 888 phone number, it went straight to voicemail; with a message saying there was no agent available.

Also, it took about 20 minutes for someone to respond to an email I sent asking for assistance.

Based on my experience, this is an utter scam and it's just collecting users' personal information.

The course creation process itself is also quite smooth. After I've drafted a course, the built-in suggestions within the LearnFormula platform are very useful. These suggestions can be for titles, categories, learning objectives, etc. I also love that my post-course quizzes get auto-generated, because creating quizzes from scratch is time-intensive, particularly when it comes to designing effective "wrong answers".

Overall, LearnFormula is an important partner of mine, and I would recommend it to other instructors.

LearnFormula charged me a subscription fee without my permission. They refunded the money but nevertheless. Please do not keep your credit card number stored on their website.

Additional comments based on LearnFormula reply: The original purchase was made as a one time transaction for a package of 20 hours. LearnFormula converted this one-time purchase into a subscription and charged me next cycle without my permission.

This company does not clearly list out the course types available for CPE credits. Due to the lack of user-friendly interface, there is no guarantee the courses you actually need are available until AFTER the purchase of a subscription. I needed live webinar courses but had to purchase a subscription to see if they existed. The trial period is fraudulent as well, as they would not issue a refund after I realized the courses do not exist. Avoid at all costs - the customer service is horrendous and rude as well (talking about you, Elma).

Very disappointed in this company as they do not offer refunds where the goods offered are not fit for purpose which is consumer law in NZ. Be careful when engaging this company.

I got an auto renewal by mistake and the customer service is kind to help me cancel and refund the amount charged.
What I don’t like about the experience is that: 1. I bought a “certificate program” with a series of selected courses. It was not make apparent that renewals annually. It does not make sense to renewal since you already finished the courses and got the certificates. 2. When you try to cancel the “subscription” leads to a Chatbot and eventually you have to talk to a customer service to cancel. So it’s not as simple as just clicking a bottom. This is not friendly for people who just don’t want to go through this trouble. 3. You do not have the option to make a single payment, it seems to remembers your credit card and reserve the right to charge you in the future. I also find it impossible to delete my credit card information with them once entered.
Apart from the above noted issues, the general experience is good. The courses they offers are of high quality and at good price. The customer service staff are friendly and helpful.

I am a Canadian CPA and I have used CPDFFormula's online educational offerings for a number of years to satisfy my Annual CPD verifiable educational requirements that are required for me to maintain my valuable accounting designation. They offer a large selection of courses at differing levels of complexity, all verifiable with a certificate upon successful completion. The presenters are well-credentialled with years of experience in their fields and they teach their courses in a clear and organised manner. CPDFormula's online course management system does an excellent job of keeping track of where a student is on any particular course and keeps that history year-over-year. I recommend CPDFormula to all CPA's to help you in your annual requirement.
