If there was zero stars

If there was zero stars, I would put zero stars, poor customer service, as soon as you ask for a manager they hang up on you, I have been charged $45 every 5 days, for international roaming, I even added $100, and my credit finishes in 3-4 days, everytime I ask to speak to the manager they hang up on me, not once or twice but many times.

I am transferring all my nine accounts to a different provider, someone who can value my business, and have a better customer service. I would never recommend Lebara Australia to anyone.

Decent

Got the service during one of the many sales they were offering. Had some annoying issues getting the number ported over - which was my fault - so no dramas there but the agent was completely uninterested. I get it, I made a stupid mistake, but still, never nice to be treated like that.

The service itself has since been fine though.

Stay away

Avoid them at all costs. Terrible customer service, workers are nice but they are absolutely useless because the platform they work on is just objectively terrible. The 1 star is earned because it was on discount and cheap for a travel SIM.

Only one star as I can't give less

Only one star as I can't give less. I purchased a 30 day pre-paid SIM for use while in holiday in Australia. The Woolworth's shop staff spent an hour trying to help me get activated (simple to do, says the blurb). I then spent another half an hour online the following day with Lebara chat (not open Sundays) I still had no mobile reception and chat had gone offline by then (they are in NSW time) so i contacted chat again this morning to be told my phone was not compatible. Nothing on the SIM I bought suggested this might be an issue. We then had a fun (that was sarcasm) hour and a half trying to sort out a refund as Lebara will only refund to an Australian bank account. What a truly dreadful company. Use at your own risk.
Ps the waiting times for an agent on chat are laughably inaccurate

It is a scam operation

It is a scam operation. They will overcharge you multiple times and when you try to get a refund it is impossible. They lie to your face, overcharge and are mostly incompetent.

Reasonable reception only available in different parts of dwelling not appropriate or outside of premises.
Contacting customer service is virtually non existent waiting 1/2 a hour minimum.
Tried a different phone, original and different settings same issues.
Never had this issue before.

BEWARE!!!!

BEWARE!!!!! I couldn't port my number across with their App. I had to call their centre. They kept giving excuses about how they couldn't verify my identity. Then someone at Lebara STOLE MY NUMBER and got into my bank accounts!!! They also tried all sorts of identity fraud! I had to meet with the Ombudsman, the police, it was hell and cost me a lot of money. NEVER EVER USE THIS SERVICE!!! THEIR SERVICE DESK EMPLOYS SCAMMERS!!!!!!
I still couldn't get my number back and "We apologise and will give you 25 Gig of free data on your account"

Very Poor Service

I bought a lebara SIM and started to port my number across. The port wasn't working, I was advised to cancel it and try again. I followed the advice.

lebara activated the SIM and allocated me a random phone number, without advising me that they were going to do this.

I contacted their support and requested that I port another number across. They told me that they won't do this now and I am stuck with a new phone number.

Stay away from these guys. There is good value and much better service elsewhere.

SO MANY ISSUES

the sim card from the beginning already had activation issues and it said that this sim number is not valid or something along the lines of it does not exist. i have the medium 360 pre paid plan that is supposed to give me 21GB every 30 days and it states that i have 0 days left and yet i havent received my 21GB of data allowance despite the description saying it does. i contacted them through live chat and they take ages to respond, and i sent multiple messages multiple times and they DISAPPEAR if you go out of the messaging tab

Would be easier to throw your money away…

I decided to try to get an esim despite the negative reviews as I thought it wasn’t a huge investment. However, I did not expect for this not to work AT ALL. I was prompted to activate the E-sim only to get an error “sim number not found”. It may be cheap but is clearly tantamount to throwing away money if it doesn’t work!

Contact TIO immediately

I write this review in the hopes that I can help someone else in the same situation. If you have an issue, do not attempt to resolve it with Lebara, it will not be resolved, full stop. It is not an exaggeration when I say I have never in my life come across such appalling customer service and incompetence across the entire company. What should have been a simple process after my mum lost her sim card, required my mum to go through their ID verification process ten times and go through half a dozen SIM cards (all at their request). After all these tedious and unnecessary processes due to the company's technical ineptitude, coupled with incredible unhelpfulness from their customer service team, my mum's number was still not connected after two months. I am normally a patient and understanding person but I was starting to lose it. I would email, and the complaint would be closed with a reply stating we apologise and understand it has now been resolved when it had not. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and would be told they are not available, or a supervisor will call back and never receive a call back. I even tried the live chat function, and was belittled and demeaned. I have never been spoken to by a company like this. I understand that most people don't want to work there but it was shocking to have someone go out of their way to demean you. It was only after the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) contacted Lebara that the issue was resolved within two days. Don't be like me and waste hours of you life and the add unnecessary stress. Don't trust Lebara when they tell you it will be resolved in two, four or 24 hours, it will NOT be resolved. Call TIO.

Lodge your complaint with the TIO

Worst service I have ever experienced. I would even say it was non-existent. Tried to change the ownership of my dad's account to my mum's name as he passed away. Contacted them in August to start the process and sent them everything they requested but nothing was done. Constantly called and emailed them to follow up on the process only to be told that someone was looking into it and they will be in touch. After 4 months of following up and countless hours wasted waiting on the phone to talk to someone to be told the same thing, the last straw finally broke when one of the agents hung up on us when we asked to speak to a manager to lodge a complaint. So we decided to lodge a complaint with the TIO (telecommunications industry ombudsman) and it was resolved within 2 weeks.
So my advice for anyone dealing with this sad excuse of a business, go directly to the TIO instead of wasting your time with Lebara.
