They scam some charges
The process of getting everything digitized was good. Where I'm dissatisfied is the way they handle the cloud - they put a card in your completed order saying you can get 30 days free of cloud service NOT that they're going to charge you anyway! (Perhaps in the fine print) but I knew i didn't want the cloud that I thought you sign up for so threw the card out. Then I find charges on my credit card.

A very smooth process
A very smooth process. Everything was step by step from start to finish. I have ordered from them 3 times, and I am not disappointed. The only recommendation I would have for them would be to speed up the process. It takes a month and a half or a little longer. (To be fair, I think all these services do, and that might just be the way it is.)

Grateful for the service
Grateful for the service. Worth every penny spent to see the video and hear the audio from the 1950s and 1960s. I’ve shared the recordings of my grandparents with my cousins and remaining aunts and uncles and it has been a lovely experience hearing back from them about their memories of our family.

Lost memories, now found!
While was unsure of sending my memories I made the leap. I am so glad I did. The process is so simple, they kept me informed at all times of where my videos were and when I would recieve them back. I finally watched some and it was amazing. Those precious memories were wasting away on vhs tapes and now my grandchildren can see their parents when they were kids. I recently lost my mom and she was on so many of the videos. Quality wasn't like digital but I didn’t expect it to be as they were 37 year old tapes and not stored properly. I was amazed at how good the quality was and I have so many more tapes to still send. They have great sales and I will be taking advantage of one real soon.

I was really pleased with Legacybox, the barcoding, digital processing, and getting my tapes back to me quickly was amazing. I have enjoyed watching my videos with very little flaws digitally. With a 30 day free iCloud membership can share them with my family members that may also be in the videos, treasures they might not have ever gotten to see. Family memories are priceless. All orders include a complimentary cloud access, which would have been sent to you via email as soon as your order was completed. If you selected a Thumb Drive or Disc Set, that would have been sent inside of your returned box.

Upside down photos?
Somewhat disappointed at how many photos were scanned in upside down and sideways. Also some have borders cut off. Was expecting a step above me scanning them in myself.

I’m really sorry to hear you were disappointed with the orientation of some of your scans and the appearance of cropped borders — I completely understand expecting a polished result.
Photo orientation during scanning is determined by the position that produces the best quality capture at the time of digitization. Because of this, some images may upload sideways or upside down, but they can easily be rotated on your end after download.
As for the borders, our goal is always to preserve the full image area while optimizing for clarity and alignment, though slight edge trimming can occasionally occur depending on the condition or framing of the original photo.

I have used Legacy box twice now
I have used Legacy box twice now. First with about 10 old VCR tapes. Recently was about 10 reels of 8 mm movies. It’s so much more convenient to have on a thumb drive rather than trying to lug out the antique movie projector or VCR player! If they even still work!

Everything was so easy....they sent a box, I packed my videos and sent them postage paid and they were returned with the format I requested. A notice was sent when my box was received and again when it was sent out. I have used them twice and am very happy to have my videos preserved.

Degraded videos from 1960s digitized
Was so happy to see some old videos from the 1960s digitized. It was a little surreal to see family members from before I was born moving around! The tapes were definitely degraded, but they did a fabulous job of saving what was salvageable!

Mailing is easy through UPS.
Received the box to mail my tapes to them quickly. Turn around time is a little longer than expected from some of my previous dealings.I mailed a few boxes in December and was surprised to receive them back as fast as I did. So far the digital work has been good. I recommend using this company but also look for deals to save money.
